What a great way to spend the day!!!!

My husband and I were celebrating our 4th anniversary and decided to try out this tour. We really wanted to do something different and fun. We came across this tour and decided to try it. It was the best tour I've ever done! The whole experience was amazing, from our tour guides Sam and Jeffrey to the history and food. I love how they incorporated learning all these neat things about Capitol Hill in with food. It didn't feel like your average tour we had a great time. We can't wait to go on the other tours they offer! We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone! Micheal & LeShe Hunter

Food Great; Tour Needs Work

On the positive side, the food was wonderful, and there was a lot of it. Definitely come hungry and don't plan on eating dinner after. Also, I thought this was a great thing to do with my out-of-town guests whom otherwise wouldn't have made it to this DC neighborhood. However, the "tour" portion left something to be desired. I know that this is one of the company's newer tours, but the guide would forget the items of interest. We would frequently hear things along the lines of "A famous person once lived here. I'm drawing a blank on who it was, but anyway, moving on..." There was also very little description of the food we were eating. The guide would give a brief description (e.g., "it's chicken and vegetables"), but couldn't give us much more than that. Additionally, there were 13 people the day we took the tour, and it was difficult for the whole group to hear the guide's spiel. Often, she would speak in the direction of what she was pointing out, rather than at the group, so only those closest to her would be able to hear. I think there is definite potential for this tour, but you might wait until they iron out the kinks and the guide gets a little more experience.

Our tour guide Sharon was great. The food was delicious. Fun to be in a group of people who were all enjoying the food and history. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

Sharon was an amazing tour guide through the streets of Capitol Hill! We learned so much about the history of the area, the life of the neighborhood and the details of the culinary feasts in which we participated! The whole afternoon was so much more than we could have EVER imagined. See (and taste) DC like you have not seen it before!

First of all, our tour guide Pam was exceptional. She was extremely knowledgeable, fun and made you feel as if you were hearing a series of stories rather than history She took an interest in each of us, made us all feel comfortable and got the whole group talking (even the people we didn't know). The food was awesome!!!! Loved the restaurants. Great variety of food. I took teenagers who moaned before the tour,"Why go on a tour when you can just Wikipedia everything?" Well.....they all LOVED it and each told us how wrong they were after. (Ages 14-19). I would highly recommend this!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Capital Hill food tour. Chris was a wonderful guide. He was knowledgable about the food, the restaurants, and the area. He was made us all feel included and seemed genuinely interested in learning about us as well as teaching us about his city. The food was excellent at all four places. I can't say a bad thing thing about the tour. The price is a bit high, but its worth it. Come prepared to walk. This is not a time to wear high heels! If your kids aren't willing to try new foods, leave them home, its not worth it for them or you (My 12 year old enjoyed everything, probably more than I did.) If you or your kids can't put the cell phone away for a few hours, this isn't for you. Its much better when everyone listens, learns, and contributes to the conversation.

My wife and I took the Capitol Hill tour on Mother's Day, joined by our two 20-something kids who live in the DC area. I had lived near the Eastern Market Metro in the 1970's and really enjoyed the historical walking tour provided by Sharon, who told and showed us a lot we didn't know about the neighborhood around 8th St, SE. The ethnic food was wonderful, and enough to leave all of us completely full by the end of the 3.5 hours of walking and eating. We highly recommend this experience for both locals and tourists..
