Historically interesting and very good food.

My wife and I took the Capitol Hill tour on Mother's Day, joined by our two 20-something kids who live in the DC area. I had lived near the Eastern Market Metro in the 1970's and really enjoyed the historical walking tour provided by Sharon, who told and showed us a lot we didn't know about the neighborhood around 8th St, SE. The ethnic food was wonderful, and enough to leave all of us completely full by the end of the 3.5 hours of walking and eating. We highly recommend this experience for both locals and tourists..

Come Hungry and Leave Happy!

Make sure you bring your appetite to this food tour, you will not be disappointed. The combination of all different types of food, with a well guided tour was an unique experience. Our tour guide made it a fun and educational experience that was interesting to both the locals and the people from out of state. For the amount of food you receive, the price is very reasonable and there is a tour added in as well. I wish I had more time to try the other food tours that they have to offer!

Entertaining historical touring

I like museums at a 5 on a 1-10 scale. This tour was historically factual but allowed time to learn some of the local flare as well. We learned things from the beginnings of our country as well as local issues that affect the Capitol Hill neighborhood today. The eateries were fun and informal and places that anyone can enjoy. Our tour group was small with only 6 of us plus the tour guide. The guide actually lived in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and many folks stopped on the street to greet us as we walked the area.. This was by far the best thing we have done in DC out of 4-5 different visits and I will be suggesting this to anybody I run into that has DC as a vacation destination. Sorry, Sharon that we couldn't tip you last Friday but we didn't bring any cash with us!!

Unique way to experience the local flavor

This was a great way to experience Capitol Hill. Not only did we get an interesting tour that featured things we never would have otherwise seen, we got to sample unique ethnic foods. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and friendly, and she perfectly complemented the history with the food. I recommend taking the tour when the temperature is comfortable to spend time outside, but overall, this was a great experience that I recommend to locals as well as tourists who want to experience the local flavor of particular neighborhoods.

An Amazing Walk

This was the perfect marriage of history and food. Janet was a great guide, (she should be she also works for the Capitol Hill historical society). and gave us a ton of information about the area. We visited four restaurants, Indian food, El Salvadoran food, Greek and finally desert. If I have one tiny complaint it is with the amount of food, we had WAY too much food for the six of us and left food on the table at every stop. I don't like food being wasted so maybe they could adjust the amount of food to the amount of people signed up? This may also lower the price a bit? That said it was great fun and I would certainly do another one next time we are in the DC area.

Enjoyable afternoon in Capitol Hill

To be perfectly honest his wasn't our first choice of food tour in DC but we had a thoroughly enjoyable time in the company of our guide Sharon & two other couples. Sharon was a very enthusiastic & knowledgeable guide who lives in the area. She seems to know everyone & even introduced us to a lady Captain in the Marines (I'd love to know how many female Captains there are in the Marines). We enjoyed each restaurant we visited - Indian, El Salvadorian & Greek, finishing with a pear bread & butter pudding with a bourbon sauce. Capitol Hill is not an area we would have explored on our 3-day visit. We're pleased we took the tour because not only did we have great food but we saw a lovely part of DC, which looked like a picture postcard. The autumnal colours helped somewhat & was a surprise. We got on well with our group & I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We had a good laugh & we all contributed to the experience. We'd like to thank Sharon for an excellant tour. Graham & Fiona.

Worst Food Tour

Been on a couple of DC Metro Food Tours. And, they are generally not as good as other cities. The tours are pleasant if it is a first experience. But, after going to other cities, a number of elements are missing in the quality of the tour.
