We couldn't have asked for nicer weather in February. The meeting location was easy to find, even for someone that is not familiar with the area. Sharon was very friendly and knowledgeable, her depth of information about the neighborhood was impressive. She actually lives and works in the area. A lot of the things she talked about you would never know if you had just walked by a place unguided. And the food was good too! |

The food was great and the tour guide was fantastic. There is a lot of walking and the winter months may not be ideal for this! Also, since it get's dark around 5:15 it was really cold and hard to see some historic houses towards the end of the tour.
Was fun & would try it again - in warmer months |

The capital hill food tour was awesome with plenty of food and knowledge of the local area. The tour guide had a wealth of knowledge and the food locations were well thought out and prompt with their service. We will be doing another tour soon for sure! |

We had a wonderful time at the Capitol Hill Culinary Tour. Our guide (Sharon) was extremely informative and we were given a lot of history of the area that we never knew! We stopped at 4 restaurant locations where the food was amazing. The entire day went very smoothly! We cannot wait to go back and try all of the other tours that are available! |

For starters, our tour guide, Sharon Bosworth had so much historical knowledge of the Capitol Hill area and restaurants, it was worth the price even without the food. I won't give anything away about the homes and buildings visited on the tour, but some of it was fascinating - such beautiful homes in the area. It was nice to walk around in between food servings, to walk off some of the food. The restaurants on the tour were fantastic and we are so glad we went! Starting at Capitol Hill Tandoor & Grill we had two excellent dishes - starting with mulligatawny soup, followed by tandoor chicken with vegetables and basmati rice, and naan bread. Next up was Cava Mezze, Greek cuisine - we had some wonderful warm pita bread with olives and olive oil, next up was lamb cooked with orzo and spices, and then the 'flaming cheese'. That was an exciting experience, and the cheese itself was fabulous (that was my favorite stop). Then we moved on to Lavagna Italian restaurant where we had a beet, goat cheese & arugula salad, and a plate of gnocchi with gorgonzola & walnuts, finishing with a glass of limoncello. Our final restaurant destination was Zest where we enjoyed an excellent piece of pumpkin bread pudding. We can't wait to sign up for the next DC Food Tour - we only wish we could have Sharon as our tour guide for every one. Well worth the money!! |

I would recommend this activity as a fun date for a couple. I went with my boyfriend and we thought it was a great way to discover new delicious restaurants in a different part of the city. However, the only problem we had with it was the excess stops not really relevant to the food destinations. The tour guide took use all around the neighborhood to explain different architecture and tell anecdotes about historical figures who lived in the neighborhood. It was interesting enough, but not quite related to the purpose of the tour and it was a little uncomfortable in the cold December evening. Other than that, the experience was pleasant and delicious. |

Great mix of history, architecture and food. I was expecting the history and food parts but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of architecture that Sharon wove into the tour. It was a great tour and one I would highly recommend to friends. I'm sure we'll take another food tour the next time we're in D.C. |
