My husband and I went on the Historic Old Town Alexandria food tour and had a wonderful time. We learned a lot about the history of the area, and the food was delicious! They even told us about the history of the restaurants and the food we ate. It was such fun! We would recommend this tour to anyone. |

Although I have traveled the world and been part of many tour groups, I have never experienced a tour like this one. It was a wonderful afternoon with a unique combination of history and food.
The history of Alexandria came alive through the interesting stories and historical presentations by our tour guide. As we walked through Old Town, we virtually became part of the city and its past.
It was obvious that the restaurants were carefully chosen as excellent representations of an Alexandria the usual tourist does not experience. The owners of the restaurants took the time to explain a little about each restaurant's history and the food. The food itself was outstanding, and the portions were generous. I can't wait to go back and try those restaurants again!
The timing of the tour was perfect, and the the food couldn't have been better. This tour is clearly one of the best values in the DC area. Our tour guides, Jeff and Sharone, were delightful and made the tour so much fun. Don't miss out on this experience; I would go on the tour again in a hearbeat! |

DC Metro food tours is a great way to get to know Alexandria. The tour was organized and well planned. If you're looking for a new resturant to try, this is the perfect tour. It offers a delicious variety of foods showcasing Alexandria's locally owned resturants. Highly recommend, A+ |

We had a great time on our food tour. My husband and I had not known too much about the area before, and it was so interesting to learn about the culture, history, and architecture in Alexandria. The different restaurants we visited were wonderful, because the staff of the restaurants were friendly, and the food was delicious! We went home wanting to recreate some of the dishes. The balance between walking and eating was just right. Our guides were so knowledgeable about the area, and could answer any questions we had. It was a fun afternoon and a great experience! |

Despite the rain, our group had a wonderful time on the Historic Alexandria food/walking tour. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and personable. She told us interesting stories about the houses, restaurants, and museums - history came alive! The food was delicious, and it was ready to be served to us as soon as we were seated in the restaurant - I think the other patrons of the restaurant wondered who we were that we received service so fast! Some of the dishes were not ones that I would ordinarily order, but I am glad that I tried them all. I would definitely go back to all the places for a complete meal on my own. I think this tour is a fantastic idea, and now I want to take the Capitol Hill food/walking tour. |

By walking to eating destinations in Old Town you learn about the history of the town along the way while simultaneously building up an appetite and suspense regarding your next destination. Food was tasty and, contrary to expectations, portions were not small. |

We took this tour because my 2 friends recently moved to the area. Instead of taking them out to dinner for being my hosts, I brought them on this tour. It was a beautiful fall day, the guides on the walking tour gave us the right amount of historical detail. We enjoyed the stops to try local restaurants. The menu was well thought out, the restaurants ready for us with prompt informed service (we had 2 food allergies in our tour group). My friends will return to some of the places we tried, and plan on doing more food tours in the DC area. A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all. |

Perfect for people who live in DC, and tourists.
I lived there for 2.5 years, my fiance for 25 years, and for romantic weekend we decided to take the Old Town Alexandria food tour with Leslie (our guide) who was delightful!
The tour was 3.5 hours long, and $60 per person (worth every penny) We started off in Market Square, and ventured to four places along the tour, all the while Leslie giving us really interesting facts about the history of DC and Old Town. This was perfect for us, being that I am a bit of a foodie, and my significant other loves history. Our group has a total of 12 with locals and people visiting. We stopped at Virtue Feed and Grain (delicious homemade Hop tails (beer cocktails), the Columbia Firehouse (really great risotto, and scallop with many, many local beers) The Pita House (which was my favorite, super clean flavor, grandma's simple yet yummy recipes) and Bittersweet Bakery (Alexandria Jelly cake). It was a beautiful day to walk the streets of Alexandria with the Cherry Blossoms and brides everywhere, its a perfect thing to do in the Spring/Summer. Great for a gift for your boss, parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, or anyone. They also do private tours for bridal parties and team building corporate activities. We had walked by several of these places time and time again, and didn't know the great food that was inside! Leslie was super friendly, knowledgeable about the DC food scene, and very personable. I would highly recommend this tour, or others in DC for anyone who loves food, or is looking to do something new and different in DC. |
