Delectable DC Tour

Thoroughly enjoyed the DC Dupont Circle Food Tour. An amazing amount of food. From a divine cocktail and crabcake, delicious Moroccan (wow), surprising Malaysian and flavourful Japaneses- including a creamy mango ice cream it was all satisfying. Roxanne was a great guide regalling us with stories of Dupont Circle. She really paced things well giving us lots of time to eat before heading off again. Would loved to have heard more stories and seen more of Embassy Row but there wasn't enough time. Our 21 year old son came with us and he loved it! Highly recommend this tour!

A most amazing tour!

We highly recommend the Dupont Circle food tour to anyone visiting DC! We were at first wary about the amount of time it would take to complete the tour (3.5 hours as stated online) but soon found out that it is just the right amount of time to enjoy the sights, the food and the joys of being with other tour members. Roxanne had a vibrant personality that helped each member of our tour group to loosen up and enjoy the company, as well as the most amazing food that had been served to us. The variety of the dishes added up to the appeal of the whole tour. I definitely would recommend this tour!

Good Food, Needs more history

The food and restaurants were good quality and provided fast service. It was neat to see some out of the way places I may not have tried on my own but for a history tour, it was lacking. I would like more history and a more detailed explanation at all the stops. But overall, a good way to introduce yourself to a new area of the city!

We loved the tour - other than the chicken salad sandwich! The tour guide was terrific, providing us with just enough interesting tidbits, showing us some of the lovely historical homes, and the food was very good.

Sharon was an amazing tour guide. Initially we weren't expecting the historical aspect of the tour but she was so knowledgeable and passionate about the architecture and history in the capitol that we became very interested in the history of the area too and loved every minute of it. The food was another story. We couldn't get enough! We particularly loved the indian food that was at the beginning of the tour and the dessert - bread pudding that was at the end. The 3rd place we went that had fried chicken, macaroni etc I could have done without but maybe I was too full at that point to really enjoy it. All in all it was a pleasant surprize and I look forward to doing more food tours in the future!

Fun and Good Taste

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed this foodtour very much. The group is relative small, about 11 people. And we liked that. We heard that normally it is a larger group. So hopefully DC Metro Food Tours reads this one. Keep the group around 10 people! But it was a great tour, our tourguide was friendly, enthusiastic and he knew alot from food, but also DC in general. I would recommend this tour. The food is good, the neighborhood is good.

I doubt we would have discovered Old Town Alexandria without this tour. Completely different in style and substance to our New York Greenwich Village tour. Dena was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we went back ourselves another night to trace our footsteps and eat in one of the restaurants again,

Is a great way to learn and know about DC and its hidden places. We enjoy it a lot! My only suggestion for the company is to add a coffee or tea with the dessert treat!

Enjoyable afternoon in Capitol Hill

To be perfectly honest his wasn't our first choice of food tour in DC but we had a thoroughly enjoyable time in the company of our guide Sharon & two other couples. Sharon was a very enthusiastic & knowledgeable guide who lives in the area. She seems to know everyone & even introduced us to a lady Captain in the Marines (I'd love to know how many female Captains there are in the Marines). We enjoyed each restaurant we visited - Indian, El Salvadorian & Greek, finishing with a pear bread & butter pudding with a bourbon sauce. Capitol Hill is not an area we would have explored on our 3-day visit. We're pleased we took the tour because not only did we have great food but we saw a lovely part of DC, which looked like a picture postcard. The autumnal colours helped somewhat & was a surprise. We got on well with our group & I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We had a good laugh & we all contributed to the experience. We'd like to thank Sharon for an excellant tour. Graham & Fiona.

Highlight of our trip!

The Little Ethiopia food tour was absolutely amazing and was most definitely the highlight of our 5 day trip. We ended up with five people in our group (I was told the maximum is 12). Our tour leader Lynn was great - passionate, funny, engaging and you could tell she really enjoyed her job. There isn't a lot of walking on the tour, and you visit some truly unique and small family owned restaurants. There is plenty of food to go around (you will NOT be hungry at the end of the tour). You experience breakfast, lunch, appetizers (which includes a traditional coffee ceremony) and dessert. Thumbs Up! A must do!

Opportunity to really learn about Baltimore

Loved learning about the history of Fells Point and getting to meet the local people who ran the venues we visited. It was personable. Our tour guide knew an immense amount of history and was passionate about the beautiful architecture and the interesting history that shaped this area. Loved all the food and the variety. Thought there was going to be a few more beverages (ie had read that we tasted Grand Marnier but didn't). Overall, I really enjoyed our tour and would recommend it.

Sarah did an amazing job. I would guess that the groups get a little comfortable when they start drinking and harder to get going. Sarah is very good at not rushing people but keeping everybody on the move. Very insightful and down to earth. As per the stops, most were good but a couple of the spots were slow to provide the food or just plain unorganized, no matter how many times Sarah phoned them in advance or had to remind the hostesss to keep it moving. All in all , had a great time and would do it again. Do you offer the samething in San Fransico?
