We couldn't have asked for nicer weather in February. The meeting location was easy to find, even for someone that is not familiar with the area. Sharon was very friendly and knowledgeable, her depth of information about the neighborhood was impressive. She actually lives and works in the area. A lot of the things she talked about you would never know if you had just walked by a place unguided. And the food was good too! |

The food on the tour was not presented in any detail. I would appreciate a description of the flavors, spices, cooking style or technique, etc. we were given the name of the restaurant with the tupe of cuisine. That was all. We waited for hasty presentations of the food with very little attention from the servers or restaurant staff. The tables were disorganized and the guide was friendly but i remember nothing that she said about the area. |

This was a fabulous tour for any date! Great way to spend the day and Nicholas was the best tour guide! All the food and drink were amazing and the history aspect was fascinating. Strongly recommend to get to know the area. Will definitely go on others and can't wait to go back to Fells point to try full meals at some of the places we went to. |

The food was great and the tour guide was fantastic. There is a lot of walking and the winter months may not be ideal for this! Also, since it get's dark around 5:15 it was really cold and hard to see some historic houses towards the end of the tour.
Was fun & would try it again - in warmer months |

We met up with Zack (tour leader) and 4 other couples to explore Fells Pt. He really knew the areas history, culture and food! We had such a great time and are already looking forward to another neighborhood food tour! |

The tour Guide was a nice guy and very engaging. He was knowledgeable. We had dietary restrictions and he did a great job in trying to make sure they were met. One restaurant made a couple of mistakes and he spoke with them to rectify what he could. They did a good job in their rectification. It was our wedding anniversary and he gave us a small gift at the final destination to make up for the restaurants error. I would use them again but would suggest that a beverage besides water is included in at least one of the meals for the price that we pay.
thanks. |

Instead of writing a review, I'll just include the unsolicited letter I wrote to those who run the tours:
----Begin Letter----
To whom it may concern-
Recently we purchased and attended a "food tour" with DC Metro Food Tours. Our tour guide was named "Adam" though I didn't catch the last name.
I just wanted to let you know that this tour was incredible. It was well worth the cost per ticket ($65) and we can't wait to schedule another tour. We have lived in the D.C. area for over 10 years, and found ourselves only venturing into DC when family or friends came to visit. I found your tours online, and the fiance and myself decided to take the tour with just the two of us to learn more about the nation's capital.
Not only was Adam incredibly personable, but he was knowledgeable as well. There was also a young lady accompanying him (Roxanne?) that was in "training" I believe, and she also shared very interesting tidbits about the history of DC as we walked from one restaurant to the next. The food was so incredible that we had a significant debate on our 2 hour drive home as to which was really "the best." (I'm still arguing it was the Moroccan soup, she claims it was the lamb with prunes. I'll keep you updated on who wins.)
I even learned stuff I hadn't expected, such as how one's palate can be determined by genetics (and now I know why I don't like cilantro!)
I couldn't recommend this tour enough, and we can't wait to take our next one! Would it be possible to be put on a mailing list to notify us when Adam will be doing the Little Ethiopia tour?
Thank you so much for a great experience!

We had a wonderful time at the Capitol Hill Culinary Tour. Our guide (Sharon) was extremely informative and we were given a lot of history of the area that we never knew! We stopped at 4 restaurant locations where the food was amazing. The entire day went very smoothly! We cannot wait to go back and try all of the other tours that are available! |

The food nibbles were great, and I'm definitely going to hit up some of the featured restaurants my next time in town.
Our tour guide, Zach (or Zack, not sure) was awesome, and his enthusiasm and love of Fells Point really came through. He knew everyone, everywhere, and it really reminded me of being in the small Eastern Shore town that I live in.
We had a great group of people, as well, and all-in-all it was a wonderful time. |

Overall, it was a fun experience. Some of the food options I could have done without but there was certainly a sufficient amount of food and it was spaced out fairly well. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, although some of the information struck us as a bit questionnable (e.g. based on rumors the guide had heard rather than factual). On the first food stop, it wasn't made clear that drinks were not included, so when the bill came it was a bit of a surprise; if additional costs may be a concern, it would pay to ask what is and is not included at each stop. Overall, it was a nice, unique type of activity for visiting guests. |

I first heard of DC Food tour from trip advisor and knew right away that this trip would be great for me and my friend since we love food history and day trips. The restaurants were charming and the appetizers at Bilbo Baggins was one of my favorites. I definately plan on doing g another food tour. |

We loved this tour. We had an excellent tour guide. He was knowledgeable and humorous. Unfortunately, the weather made it difficult to spend much time outside, but all of the restaurants were warm and inviting with delicious food! I highly recommend this tour! |

We went on the tour with Ted as our guide on 10/23. The walking tour was really interesting and we learned a lot about the founding of our nation. Stopped at 3 restaurants which all had great food, and then had tea and cake for dessert. Would highly recommend to anyone! Suggest getting to the location early, parking is difficult. Oh, and adult beverages are not included in the price, but you can pay the server seperately. |

The food tour was a perfect compliment to our weekend in Alexandria. We got to experience Old Town history as well as delicious food from local restaurants. Food was great and we were absolutely full after the tour. And our tour guide Ted was excellent - he was very knowledgable of the city, it's history, and certainly had us entertained the entire time. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Alexandria! |
