Great tour of local architecture and food!

I was expecting a great sample of local food - which we definitely got, in abundance. I was also pleasantly surprised to get a thorough tour of the local architecture and its relevance to the local history.

We had a great time on our walking tour. Our guide was hugely knowledgeable, the food was terrific(especially Hungry Andy's), and the history was amazing. Don't miss this well paced adventure!

My group thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Dena, our guide, was great! The food was delicious and we were definitely stuffed by the end. The next time I find myself in the D.C. area, I will absolutely sign up for another food tour.

Perfect for getting a "Taste" of Baltimore

This food tour was excellent! Our tour guide Matt was very helpful and truly loved the city. The food choices were delicious, especially the smoked crabcakes at Nancys. I was not a huge fan of the beer choice, and would recommend that it be subsituted for something else. Although the weather was not on our side, I would recommend this tour to anybody! We live near phildadelphia and wanted to spend the weekend exploring Baltimore. The food tour was a great option to discover some unique restaurants and tasts some of Baltimore's favorites.

My wife and I enjoyed the tour. I would suggest to the restaurants to interact with the tour guests. Supply them with menus and let the visitors know what else is available if they come back for dinner. Our guide was excellent.

We (2 parents and 17 yr old daughter) really enjoyed this tour. The guide was great and the group size was just right. There was a very manageable amount of walking. The food was great. There is no way I would have ever found these places on my own, or had the context that the guide provided. We were happy to have had the opportunity to learn about a culture so different from ours, especially through its food. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone except kids age 2-5, and people who cannot walk 6-8 blocks.

Oversold and Underdelivered

We booked this tour after reading the details on the online website which said the tour included stops at 7 restaurants including one historic market. We ended up with 5 stops in all. The first two restaurants (WONDERFUL ravioli and good "new American") were great. The market ended up being a "Dean and Deluca's" where we were told we were going to have a wine and cheese tasting. We ended up having a TINY pour of ONE Reisling and being able to take some cheese chunks off of a platter (cheddar, swiss, and both plain and smoked gouda). Hardly a tasting! We were then left to wander the market on our own (time and expense) for nearly a half hour. The next restaurant (seafood) was fine. The bakery was a bit of a disappointment..... no place to sit as a group... bakery customers grabbing at the (one) platter of brownies and "stingers" alloted for our group as our guide (who was great, by the way) told them they were only for those on a prepaid tour. Not enough history and NO interaction from restaurant owners/managers as we've had on similar tours in other cities. All in all a disappointment.

Spouse and I toured on Friday, April 22. Andrew, our guide, made us feel very welcome and the group developed a camraderie right from the start, even though we were all strangers. Walked through the heart of Georgetown, stopping along the way at Italian, French and seafood restaurants, Dean and DeLuca market and a well known coffeeshop for some dessert at the end. The food tastings were delicious and generous in portions, wine (or other soft drinks) was served at 3 of the stops and coffee at the last stop. Along the way, we also were treated to local history and lore. Andrew was a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly and well organized guide. We both felt the 3-3.5 hours spent was well worth the time and money, and one of our DC trip highlights. Would definitely return for other tours, a great way to experience an area in a short period of time.

GREAT for families!

I booked this trip with my family when they came to DC to visit me, and they had a great time learning about the city and eating great food along the way! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to give us some interesting insights into the founding of our nation's capitol. For people who don't know much about DC, this is a great tour to go on because you learn a great deal about the history of the city as well as of the United States in its early stages. The restaurants we went to served great food, but I prefer the food served on the DuPont Circle food tour, which I participated in a few weeks prior to the Capitol Hill food tour.

The tour was great and was a nice break from all the museaum/monument sites in DC. The food was delicious and our tour guide was very informed and enthusiastic about his job. Definitely recommend.
