The perfect setting for a fall afternoon food tour

It was lovely. Our tour guide was just adorable and Rachel was very knowledgable with interesting point on the Georgetown area. The resturants had a nice variety of food for us to taste and the atmosphere was always charming. We all really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to attending another events in the future. Fondly, Darlene Lynch

My husband and I visited DC and had to do a food tour. We've done 2 others (in NY and San Fran) and were excited to try it out. The food was delicious and different. There was only one other couple, so it was a more intimate group than on the other tours we'd been on before. Our tour guide talked a little about the surrounding area. Overall it was a fun experience !

Nice cultural tour with food.

Our guide was a lovely gentleman. This is more a cultural tour with food stops than a specific culinary tour, though. Plenty of food and a nice amount of walking in between. Tasty way to learn some history.

We all loved the tour of the Capitol Hill area! The food at each restaurant was excellent! Our guide, Sharon, was extremely knowledgable and entertaining. She kept everyone interested and involved in the experience. We will definitely be trying the other tour options in the future.

Fun afternoon for foodies

I bought tickets for this for my husband's birthday. Even though we are local we learned about some great restaurants and an awesome bakery we might not otherwise have tried. Jess the guide and the other people on the tour were fun, too. FYI if you're too full for some of the food (as I was) they can pack leftovers to go.

The leader was excellent, with a great personality. He had a relaxed way about him and seemed to enjoy the tour as much as we did. The restaurants were wonderful, especially the one which served Welsh Rarebit and the other that served the scallops (seared beautifully).

Old Town Alexandria Food Tour Rough Around the edg
Sun, Sep 23, 12   1:00 PM Brian7777 Male 50-59 Local Couple on a Date
Our tour guide (Alex) was very good. We enjoyed learning about the history of Alexandria. Overall, the food was very good and there was a good variety. Information about the free trolley should be included in directions. DC Metro tour guides should be provided with some distinctive apparel that clearly identifies them as a tour guide. Some of the restaurants did not appear to be prepared for our arrival, even though Alex called them ahead of time. Also, there wasn't enough time built into the schedule to allow us to finish our drinks. The Chef/Owner should meet and greet the group. They tell the group about the restarant and describe the food that they have prepared for us. At the Pita House, the food was very good, but not everyone got to sample all the dishes. By the time the plates made it to the middle of the table, they were empty. Also, we had no idea what we were eating. On food tours we have taken in other cities, we were provided with a card that was good for 10% off at any of the participating restaurants for a limited time. With DC Metro, there is no incentive for you to go back for a regular dinner.

Exceptional guide, great way to preview the area

Our guide Alex was entertaining as well as respectful of our time & wishes. He described the area of Alexandria in great detail & enthusiastically. Unfortunately, with the exception of the Columbia Firehouse, the meals were less than satisfactory. Blbo Baggins did not live up to its press, the food was cold & service lacking. There was no interaction with the guests to describe the restaurant or the tasting that was prepared. The Pita House provided tasteful samples, but the method of serving did not provide adequate samples for the number of people in arttendance. We found the food tour to be a great introduction to the Alexandria area but felt the food samples did not reflect the cost or represent the quality available in the area.

At the end of the tour, we discovered that our guide was brand new. But, He made our afternoon kfun-filled and full of historical information. A great way to see that beautiful city that used to be a part of the District.

Focus on Food

While I understand this is a walking food tour, I really must emphasize that the focus is on the food. The food choices are great and will not leave you hungry... but I was hoping for a bit more history of the local area and architecture on the walking tour. This was my 3rd food tour (all different neighborhoods) and I feel like some of the walking tour portion is getting repetitive. But I must say the food will not disappoint! The tour guide was very friendly and the establishments comfortable. It is a fun activity for visiting family and friends. Thanks!

Nicholas & Andrew Were So Much Fun!

We had a great time on our food tour of Fells Point. Nicholas and Andrew were our guides and provided both great information about the history of the area and lots of entertaining facts. The food was so yummy and drinks were good too. Did the Little Italy tour last summer and am planning to do Federal Hill next. Great way to spend the afternoon!

Leah made the history of the area vibrant and alive. Each restaurant was unique and a gastronomic delight. The portions were generous. The tour was a highlight of our weekend in DC.

Great walking tour with 4 different restaurants. We wanted to tip our wonderful tour guide Lauren but she disappeared quick at the end of the tour.
