| What a way to spend the afternoon! Touring Old Town Alexandria and learning so much of the history and trivia was amazing. Then add to that stopping at delicious restaurants to have an eclectic variety of food, definitely has something for everyone. Our tour guide, Molly, was very informative as well as entertaining. (Thanks, Molly!) Make sure you come hungry or you won't have room to taste all the "mini-meals" which aren't so mini. This is a great activity for locals, or people visiting the DC area who want to do something out of the ordinary, not your basic tourist sites. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as there is quite a bit of walking. We can't wait to try the Capitol Hill and Eastern Market tours next time we're in DC. Definitely recommend this... | ||||||

| My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this guided walking tour of old Capitol Hill neighborhoods. Combining history, architecture and diverse food experiences with an easy outdoor stroll was a highlight of our week-long visit to Washington, DC. It is the perfect antidote to days spent indoors touring museums and uninspired cafeteria dining. We especially enjoyed the soul food barbeque and Natalie, our charming knowledgeable guide. | ||||||

| My husband and I went on this tour and had a great time. The amount of food you receive is well worth the ticket price, and as a non-seafood eater, I was very pleased with how they handled my request to be served a different option. Our guide was exteremely knowledgable about the area and provided so much more interesting historical information than we expected! I highly recommend this activity for "locals" who want to get to know the area easily by way of delicious food! | ||||||

| The only confusion we encountered at the start of the tour, as someone else has already mentioned, was finding our Metro Tours guide. I understood that someone would be at the Old Town Visitors' Center, where I looked first, but instead, we found our guide across the street at the corner of Market Square, a simple misunderstanding (probably mine). Natalie, our DC Metro Tours guide, was pleasant, articulate (we could understand her very clearly), and well informed. She described the tour before we began our walk, then kept us informed, not only about the sites we were visiting, but about what was coming up: how long until the next stop, whether there would be a WC available, etc. This information was very helpful for a long-ish tour (3.5 hours). We enjoyed all of our stops, whether a historic site or a restaurant. It was especially nice to walk to the waterfront and through the Torpedo Factory, where we encountered a glass harmonica player giving a performance outside! Our favorite stops were Bilbo Baggins and Union Street Public House, as the food was hearty and flavorful at both. Pita House, our last stop before dessert, was more of a challenge for two reasons: (1) a couple of people in our party are not particularly adventurous eaters, so they tried the shwarma and falafel, etc. but weren't particularly impressed; (2) the amount of food served at this last stop was partcularly generous, and by this time, we were pretty full from the previous two restaurants. All told, though, we had a great time in perfect weather (not too warm, and slightly overcast - great walking weather) taking a well organized tour. | ||||||

| Our guide, Deana, did a very good job conducting the tour. We were shown many interesting houses in Old Town and we were introduced to many interesting facts about them. The tour was well paced. It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with a guide who was a professional who cared to do a good job. The restaurants that were chosen for the tour were interesting and the foods they served were very good. | ||||||

| The tour of Old Town Alexandria was WONDERFUL! The tour guide (Molly) was knowledgeable, funny and personable. Her presentation and various facts about the area made for a perfectly enjoyable afternoon. The food was artfully presented, tasty and by the end of the tour, we were more than satisfied that we received our monies worth and more. Would highly recommend these tours to anyone planning a trip to the area. | ||||||

| It was wonderful being with my group but the others on the tour were delightful and interesting as well. The tour guides (we were blessed with two that day) were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and genuine. The foods at the restaurants were delicious. Finally, I am an Alexandrian, but I learned much about Alexandria that day, including many places and things I was not even aware existed. | ||||||

| The weather was miserable but the food was great, the guide was fun, pleasant and informative. The tour was well balanced, just the right amount of walking between stops and lots of interesting history. Highly recommend it to others. | ||||||

| This by far one of the best tours we have been on in the D.C. area and we have tried nearly all of them. The tour guides were very knowledgeable, hospitable, friendly and kind. They really knew their subject, the area and offered additional "off the tour" advice. Like where to shop or grab a quick beer after the tour. The restaurants were fantastic. No two alike. Great choices and variety of foods. The quality was excellent and the quantity was way over the top! We expected to get "bites" and instead got whole meals at each restaurant with a final stop for dessert. The food tour is a great idea, fun for adults and young adults. Maybe not so great with young children who are not adventurous with food or into long walks with long talks. Our older children (thirty-ish) loved it! | ||||||

| This was a great time and awesome experience for the both of us. Let me start off by saying that we were late due to the fact that we didn't know that there was an art fair going on in Old Town. We were worried that we would miss the tour but than Molly called my phone and let us know where we could meet up with them at and that was awesome and made our day. We than met up with the tour shortly after it began and let me tell you it was well worth the parking struggle. Molly was an great tour guide and she kept us entrained and well fed I might add. Her knowledge of the local area was impressive and even taught a couple of locals like us some new things about Old Town Alexandria. We highly recommend this tour and we will be going on the capital hill tour and eastern market tour as well. Thanks to DC food tours and a big thank you to Molly! | ||||||

| What a wonderful experience. Not only was the tour guide friendly and knowledgeable, but the tour itself was fun and really quite interesting. And the food--oh my goodness. Why are there tours without food? Metro Food Tours just proved to me that there is no reason to do a tour without sampling the local cuisine. The food was great, ecclectic and very tasty. I'm definately reccomending this tour to all of my friends, as well as my family. | ||||||

| I loved the history, and I loved the different types of food! I enjoyed walking my way around this historic city and learning what made it so special. I liked the city before I took the tour but knew nothing about the history. Now it is even more special to me. This tour was a great value for the money and a good time besides! | ||||||

| My sister and I really enjoyed this tour... I live in DC, and she was visiting from Boston, and neither of us have ever been to Old Town, and I really felt like I been going there for years... The food was great and filling, yet well spaced out, and I really learned a lot about the area and its history during this tour. I have already recommended it to all my friends, and look forward to the tour starting up for Capital Hill in May... Jeff was a great tour guide... so great that people were asking for his card along the tour, and apparently he looked like the man who knew it all, because random people kept going up to him to ask for directions, parking questions... People even stopped to hear what he was saying during the tour.... Needless to say... I highly recommend this tour... Thanks so much jeff for a wonderful experience.... | ||||||

| This was the highlight of our visit to Alexandria. We enjoyed the historical information mixed with visits to local restaurants. We were staying with our grown children who live in Alexandria and it was nice to try new places to eat so we do not always go to just one or two places when we visit. We knew we would learn more about the area but our kids were surprised that they also learned things they did not know. The guides were knowledgable and friendly and had a great relationship with the people who run the business and attractions in the town. We want to try both the pub tour and the ghost tour. Thank you for a super fun day. | ||||||
