I liked the tour, but since the tour was comprised of about 12 people (or so) it is somewhat difficult to ask questions as they pop up...As there are more people, there is a natural tendency to refrain from asking questions, as there is a fear that others will complain, or the tour guide will be become frustrated answering questions, etc....See, if the maximum # of people attending a tour were say, 6, it would be easier to get more engaged, as these are interesting tours, but to REALLY get something out of it, you need to be able to bring up questions.. |

It was great to not only see where a movie was filmed ,but to actually see the scene of the movie and actually see the building or street scene in the movie being shown on the television in the van. It is one thing to have a tour guide say the house you are looking at was in whatever happened to baby jane, but then have a scene played on the van's television and actually see betty davis walking up the very steps of the house that you are looking at was very interesting. |

This was a high energy, fun and informative tour. The amount of planning to develop this tour must have been extensive because the details and experiences were truly one of a kind. Imagine cruising down a street while watching the same scene simultaneously on the screen - except the scene is from a classic movie! This tour made many areas of LA/Hollywood come alive for me, and it was fascinating to learn how some scenes were manipulated with special effects, while viewing the actual filming location. Our tour guide Brian was obviously passionate about Hollywood and movies and his spirit gave the tour the high energy I mentioned. Even if you are a local and know a lot about movies this tour was a delight. We took this tour after taking the Tragical History Tour and I would highly recommend either. |

What a great tour. There's so much history in LA/Hollywood and this tour captures so much of it.
Every corner you go around has some connection to a movie to TV show and this tour shows you.
The great thing is they show you the scene from the movie where the location/house/building you go by. Yea that house looks familiar. Oh that was Faye Dunaway's house in "Chinatown."
Brian Donnelly is an excellent tourguide. So enthusiastic. You can tell he loves his job and it's a privilege to be on a tour with him. Thank you Brian, you are so good at what you do. I wish the tour lasted another three hours.
Take any tour put on by Dearly Departed Tours. They've done the research, pounded the pavement and make sure what they tell you is 100 percent fact!
The cream rises to the top, Dearly Departed Tours certainly does. |

This tour will make you appreciate the beauty, history, and majesty of this town in a way that many local people don't understand. I've spent all my life here, but every time I see the HOLLYWOOD sign up close I want to weep. This tour is not for families with young children, obnoxious teenagers, or those who have no knowledge of important films such as Sunset Boulevard, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Xanadu, Grease, or The Onion Field. |
