| The Dearly Departed tour was the highlight of our six day LA vacation! Not only would I recommend it for people who have never taken it before, but I also look forward to going on it again the next time we're in town....definitely a must! | ||||||

| Scott, I absolutely loved the tour and was properly creeped out all weekend for a variety of reasons. (The main one being that I truly almost bought what I know know was Voycek Frykowski's (sp?) drug house on Woodstock Drive, the other being that as a now slightly dirty old man, I found some of the Manson chicks to be hot - especially Leslie Van Houten, and also because of the group song that the Family was singing about "Come On Home". The song was catchy, and not bad musically, and it has stayed in my head every day, which scares me to think I could "Come on home" and be inducted into the family). Anyway, my cousin Fred and I had a great time, and I'm sure I'll be back with other friends from work, including my friend Gary, whose ticket you graciously told me you'd honor when we're able to see the tour again. That being said, I did want to offer two pieces of criticism, which I only intend to be constructive, and they are as follows. First, remember when people in the seats closest to you in the van ask questions or comment, those of us in the back seats can only hear your response. So whenever that happens, I would remind you to repeat people's questions so we all know what's going on. On the day we were there, you had a bit of a fanatic riding shotgun with you and there was all sorts of give-and-take between the two of you that most of us couldn't hear, which was a little frustrating. It was still great though. The second criticism, or suggestion if you will - and I really hope you'll take this to heart - would be that those crime scene photos are truly horrible and my one errant peek into the binder at the slaughtered corpse of Sharon Tate deeply disturbed me, and though I'm admittedly more sensitive than some people, it put a bit of a pall on the whole experience for me and I wish I didn't have that image in my head. So, here's my suggestion - perhaps you could offer a couple of binders that are censored in the manner that the photos in the Bugliosi book are - or perhaps don't have the photos at all. That way, your customers would be able to enjoy the other photos, such as the Helter Skelter slide, the vintage photos, and even the coroners reports, etc. without being exposed to the grisly reality of those horrible images. (My cousin Fred isn't thrown by gore, but I had a lot of trouble with it). So, maybe a couple of "PG-13" books for the sqeemish such as I. Just a thought. Thanks again for an awesome experience. I'm certain I'll see you again, and I'm also talking your tour up to people who I think would enjoy it. Danny Smith | ||||||

| My friend and I did not know what to expect but were completely open for this experience. We have to give some major kudos to our tour guide because we were so impressed by the amount of detail he provides to ensure we understand the intricacies’ of this tragic event. He has video, sound bites, photos and of course you are taken to the majority of the major sites. For anyone considering whether you should take part in this tour, my thought is that you won't be disappointed. | ||||||

| It was a really cool tour, that I'll take again when family comes in town. Los Angeles is a bit sprawling, so it took a while to get from place to place. The information in the in-between bits was good. And the highlighted portions were spectacular. The recordings were fantastic and the host was great. Will definitely do the tour again! | ||||||

| Two of us had done this tour before with Scott Michaels and it was worth every penny. Scott gave us so much information and answered all questions asked with great detail. Bragging about how interesting this tour was, we recruited 4 others to join us...although a year later we were all excited to do the tour again. To our surprise our tour guide was not Scott and immdeiately the excitement for the tour was quiclkly gone. Second time around I thought the tour was average...especially after doing the tour with Scott the 1st time, it was just not the same. Please consider an option to let people know before they pay who will be giving the tour. We thought we were paying for Scott Michaels who is well known, especially for his Dearly Departed Tours. | ||||||

| the tour was very good, only 3 comments had I known the back seats of the van were less roomy I would have called shotgun or tried the first row if they provided more leg room for those of us very tall people. while a 2nd stop was suggested no one seemed to speak up and say they needed one, maybe have a destignated 2nd restroom stop, if nothing else just to get stretch the legs. I do like to tip on great service and I did tip but all the signs in the van recommended 15-20% maybe change the price of the ticket from $40 to 46.00-48.00. Otherwise a very fun tour and would recommend it, and my fat and tall friends I would still recommend and would just tell them to get the choice cheats on the van. | ||||||

| it was a combo of dearly departed/and some celebs homes etc. plus, we saw the hollywood sign! i truly loved hearing about/seeing The Osbournes ex house, one of Marilyns homes, where Mae West used to live, and where they paved paradise & put up a parking lot!! and of course the story of the Hollywood Sign Jumper, why would someone walk miles up a hill to kill themselves? i guess she had to think it out first! i wish we would of heard more about: Marilyn, Tupac, and the Wonderland murders. but at least he gave us a map of how to get to Marilyns grave! thats intense. anyway, don't park @ the Farmers Market= i think its easier to park in the middle of the st. sideways, besides there!! just when u think u found a spot, its a darn 20 min. limited spot! then u have to drive around in circles until some happy shopper finally moves their car, while your trying to get the spot before the other 5-6 cars waiting gets it!! | ||||||

| I lived in LA for 10 years and knew nothing of what I was told on the tour. A great job is done of blending audio, pictures and of course the actual sites. It was interesting and I was amazed at how our guide knew the answer to any and every question he was asked! You will not be disappointed if you do this tour, I would and will recommend this to everyone I know! | ||||||

More death, more details, less drivel and drive-by

| As an avid reader of findadeath I was expecting a tour tightly and entirely focused on the locations and circumstances surrounding the deaths of celebrities. We starting out strong with several specific sites and lots of interesting details supported by a solid audio track and an interesting but barely adequate reference binder. Unfortunately, at times the tour seemed hard-pressed to find anything interesting in a given area other than the barely visible roof-top of some reclusive famous person's home, or worse yet, the lot where an actual, original celebrity home had formerly stood, only to be told it had been demolished long ago. Seeing various sites of recent scandals involving still-living celebrities was topical but I thought it was outside the advertised scope of the tour and therefor superfluous. The final third of the tour seemed fixated on the Manson Family saga (heard WAY too much about that thanks!), and the run past Paramount added little to the journey. The van was pretty comfortable and we both appreciated the bathroom breaks. In general this was a good tour -- albeit inconsistent -- with an extremely knowledgeable guide (Well done Richard!). | ||||||

| I cannot stress how great this tour is for value for money. You get a huge amount of information, see some fantastic places, get a couple of rest stops, all while being driven around safely in absolute comfort. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to see the sights, learn some history and hear some great old time Hollywood stories. Thank you guys - great job. | ||||||

Unique and Exciting Tour of Hollowood

| This is one of the best if not the best tour I've ever taken of Hollywwod and the surrounding areas. The guide was extremely informative and friendly and seemed to be having as good as time as the tourists. Next time I am going to take the "Manson Tour" since I have been very interested in the Tate Murders etc. This tour touches on it a little. There is much more to the tour than just the dark side of the movie industry. The mini-bus goes past many Hollywood landmarks including film locations, movie-star homes, notorious locales, and of course celebrity death locales. This tour is highly recommened and I am planning on taking some friends on the tour next time I return to L.A. | ||||||
