Dearly Departed Tours

I live in Rancho Cucamonga and go to L.A. often but have never taken any of the tours because...well those are for tourists, right? Well I am so glad we took this tour, it was great fun and very informative!

The tour had a good amount of death-related and sordid sites, as advertised, which was what we came for. Unexpected was the amount of general celebrity stuff: that's Drew Barrymore's house, that's Jack Benny's house, that's Sylvester Stallone's mom's house...oh, and that black car in the driveway is Sylvester's car, so he's there!, etc. I guess it's unavoidable that as we're driving to the sordid sites, we're in the midst of other celebrities' homes too, so it would have been silly *not* to point some of these out. I think it turned out very well for the less dark-oriented folks in our group. My one suggestion: if you take the tour and plan on taking a lot of pictures, bring a note pad. There were so many sites that were quickly mentioned that we couldn't remember all of the sites. Taking notes will help you label your pictures later. Oh, and this is definitely not for kids. Have fun!

I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of detail covered in this tour. The air conditioned van (with a roof! unlike so many other tour vans) made the ride very comfortable. The guide was SO knowledgeable.. we thoroughly enjoyed this first-class tour of Hollywood.

This tour was beyond my expectations; so much information on movie stars, famous places and their infamous demise. I would recommend it to anyone visiting and wants a Hollywood experience or anyone living in the area that wants to learn more about where we live!!!

I took my mom, sister and 16 year old daughter, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Brian was a great tour guide. He was very informative and definitely knew his Hollywood history. We live in Southern California, but have never done anything like this and are glad we did. We highly recommend this to anyone that would like a tour of Hollywood.

Loved our tour guide. My only negative is with the van. It was hard to see things on the opposite side of the van. I would prefer an open top van.

I am local but brought family on this tour. I have been on several other Hollywood tours and this was one of the best. Not only did the tour driver point out some interesting places where tragic things took place, but he also pointed out many other interesting places and facts along the way. The tour driver, Brian, was very informative and interesting with a good dose of humor.

It's a great tour, filled with humor, interaction, and getting to see the sights of some of the filming locations in and around Hollywood. Not only do they show clips of the movies at each location, they make sure that if the house is on the right in the clip, it will be on the right side of the bus. This attention to detail, the knowledgeable tour guide and value alone make this a great way for you to spend 2.5 hours.

We had the best time on this tour. Brian is a wealth of knowledge and made the whole experience so much fun. I've already referred the tour to other people and want to go again. Even after living in LA for 30+ years, there were so many new things I learned.

You must do this tour. Our tour guide Brian was very knowledgeable and shared stories of the Hollywood stars, .not just the gruesome stories, but interesting ones. The tours is worth the money!

With great enthusiasm and knowledge, the Dearly Departed tour gives you fascinating details of past and present celebs, not only where they might've passed away but where they lived, along with some famous movie sites and trivia. This tour is for the young and old and should not be missed!

I can summarize the morning: Scott was a plethora of information on Manson and the events of 1969. It was truly a great experience...I live in L.A. and was shown so many locations I didn't even know about. I would recommend this to anyone/everyone who is intrigued by this tragic time. Not for kids or people who are not into the Manson crimes. I LOVED it.

What separates Dearly Departed tours from other Hollywood tours is not only the locations and stories that are told, but it's the enthusiasm of the tour guides that really make it special. Our guide was such a delight and he had such a passion for the stuff he was showing us. This tour might be seen as morbid by most folks but it's so incredibly fascinating and it's all true! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, tourists and locals alike.

We took my Mom for her birthday and I must say this was by far the best tour I have ever gone on. Our Tour guide, Scott Michaels was so much fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour. It was fascinating and we will be going again!!!
