Dearly Departed Tours

Brian was a great tour guide! He had so much knowledge of everything related to the tour and some great personal stories to share. I thought this would be something different to do for my birthday and we all had such a great time! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone! Thanks!

I am a Hollywood Local who thought I know pretty much all there was to know about this town..but the Dearly Departed tour wowed me! I learned so many new and fun facts about "old" and "new" Hollywood. Our tour guide, Brian Donnelly, was well informed and enthusiastic - I have already recommended this to my brother (who wants to go on the tour and I may go with him: it was fun enough to do all over again!!) Great for local people and tourists...money well spent!!!

This was a very informative and interesting tour. I've been on other tours and since I am local, most of the other tours showed me places and details I already knew. This tour however was different. I learned things that I didn't already know. Details of stories I had heard from the news but didn't quite get the picture until going of this afternoon tour. Very well done.

A lot of references were geared towards individuals in their 40's and 50's. This would be great for them. Overall not bad but for someone in early 30's I didn't know a lot of the people the guide mentioned

We really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Brian was fun, friendly, knowledgeable and very funny. We took in a lot of information and learned a lot. It was a great day and a tour we highly recommend. I know we will take it again!

A great tour of the underbelly of Los Angeles. The tour guide - Brian - certainly knows his stuff: facts and details come flooding out of him. He's funny and very engaging and his love of the movies certainly shines through. Nice to see that there is more than the squeaky clean version of the movie stars that the studios would have us believe.

I've been in LA for 20 years and have had to take family on so many Hollywood tours. Most are lame. This is not. These guys know their stuff and love what they do.

my group and myself found the tour fantastic. the combination of tragic locations along with related sites such as movie scenes made for a great afternoon. the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. the tomb buggy was comfortable and made site viewing easy. the audio and printed material was a great addition. my group was myself and four young men between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one. three sites that would be great to add if geographically feasible would be the tate and labianca homes from the manson murders, and the elizabeth short dump site. some excellent bonus sites that i did not expect were lucille ball's home and the other homes on that block and the menendez home. an ironic story is that the guide asked us about celebrity sightings. we had none to share. after the tour we ran into matthew broderick filming a honda superbowl commercial, nick swardson, and tyler the creator (a young new rapper the boys recognized). all posed with the boys for pictures. only in hollywood!

brian was an awesome tour guide it sure was very informative is it was longer than the time stated on the website which is great this is by far the best tour we've ever taken I'm definitely gonna take a helter skelter and the movie tour with this company.

Took a visitor from New York as well as a 6-year Los Angeles resident on this tour with me, and both thoroughly enjoyed it... myself included. There's some general history/facts included with the tour along with the dark and twisted stuff. It was interesting, well done, and good way to spend $40 and a weekend afternoon. Grab lunch at Mel's Diner beforehand and you're set. We're looking into taking the Helter Skelter tour next.

Fun and interesting tour

This was a fun and interesting tour. The tour guide was entertaining and well informed. The only part that disappointed me was that we didn't get to see the Tate-LaBianca houses.

Brian provided an excellent commentary along the route, giving us more than a canned routine. I would definately recommend this tour. Thanks!

This was my second time taking this tour with Brian, and I brought a friend for his birthday! I loved it even more the second time around and my friend thought it was sooo cool! We are both So Cal Locals and this tour provides a great look at our city, and gives us cool hollywood history! It is graphic, but this tour wouldnt be what it is, if they sugar coated everything. If you love gore, drama, history, scandal and hollywood then this is the tour for you!! HIGHLY recommend it!!

Great fun. Tour guide was witty and filled with much knowledge of L.A. history and Hollywood's hidden side. His good sense of humor made the tour all the more pleasurable.
