Brian was incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and very fun. He enjoys what he does and it shows. Very likable which in returned made it very fun for my son and I. Many others to choose from. But in our minds, the best. That's because of Brian....we will probably go again. Again Brian was the &@$!..........Sean

The tour was fantastic, full of interesting facts and sights but the best part was definitely Brian Donnelly our tour guide. He was captivating from start to finish and his enthusiasm for hollywood and the darker tragic side of it was contagious and really made this an experience to remember. I will recommend this to anyone I know going to LA.

Went two hours longer than the online site said.

My wife and I took this tour a couple of years ago and felt it was a great way to see Hollywood and it's surrounding communities. Not your typical Hollywood map of the stars homes tour. We had friends in from London and family from the mid-west and after much thought and discussion we convinced them that the Dearly Departed Tour was fun. I'm a location manager in the movies and looked forward to letting someone else give the tour of LA. One doesn't get on a bus with Dearly Departed logos and expect every story to be happy or anecdotal but I have to say I was taken aback by how gruesome and dark the tour has become. Yes, you have to do the Black Dalia but the Tweaker head chopping bit was too much. Maybe it was the guide. Just before glam boy story he admitted to dumpster diving on Halle Berry and to still having artifacts from that excursion. It's one thing to be a fan something else to be digging in their trash. I admire people who love their work but then he admitted to having his 50th birthday party in Janice Joplin's hotel room and outlining where her body was found in tape as they drank and toasted to her life - yikes! I can say without a doubt after admitting that, our group was "out". The tour went on for nearly 4 hours - twice as long as advertised. My brain hurt from all the suicides, overdoses and murders. Five days later I'm still recovering. I do appreciate the tour guide's enthusiasm but I think a two or two and half hour tragical history tour is enough. Some focus and maybe a little less personal sharing is in order. I'd recommend this tour only with a BIG caution!

This was the BEST tour I took. I was born and grew up in SO CA, but never took a tour when I lived in CA. Moved from CA and come back yearly to see my family and decided to just do a tourist day. Went on 3 tours, and this was my favorite....................the tour/driver was incredible (so knowledgeable). Since I grew up in Hollywood I knew what he was talking about. I loved this tour.

If you enjoy movies, Hollywood and laughing, this is for you. Our guide, Brian Donnelly, was excellent, hilarious and his knowledge is unbelievable. The next time we are in LA we will be taking his other movie tour. Don't miss this.

Worth every penny!

The tour is worth every penny. It is THE best Tour I've been on in Hollywood so far. The Tour lasted almost 4 hours! Scott drove us all over Hollywood, to most of the locations that surrounded the murders. A MUST for those interested in the Manson/Tate/LaBianca Cases. Scott also has another Tour that I went on last year, the Dearly Departed Tour. This Tour is also worth every penny and was 3 1/2 hours. I will go on them again when I return to Hollywood in the future. Thanks Scott!

Just came back from the Dearly Departed Tour hosted by Brian and it was the best time imaginable! The tour itself was fun, quirky, morbid and highly entertaining and it was made all the more wonderful by our guide Brian. He is knowledgeable, friendly, engaing and full of energy. He is a walking trivia guide! The tour bus was totally comfortable and we visited great sites! I can't wait to take this tour again and hope they create a DD2 tour! I recommend this tour to anyone who wants something just a bit out of the ordinary! Thanks Brian for making our day (and my birthday) so special!....Love from Pumpkin II

I had such an amazing time on this tour! Between the video footage and hearing details of what took place while sitting right in front of the buildings they took place in I was "in the moment" and got chills! Scott does such a great job of organizing this and is very knowledgeable and is willing to answer any questions and makes it fun!! It was so much fun re-living these moments in time. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I highly recommend this to anyone that is interested in going. You won't be disappointed!! I will definitely be going on another tour in the future. Thanks again, Scott for the tour! One of the best experiences of my life! : D T'Lesa Ann

This was either my fifth or sixth time on the Dearly Departed tour; whenever I have friends from out of town visit, I find that this is one of the most interesting and informative ways to show them around Los Angeles and Hollywood. The tour has just the right mixture of humor and the macabre and is downright fascinating; I never tire of it. For locals and tourists both, I recommend this tour most highly.

Not Worth the Money
Sun, Sep 11, 11   1:00 PM mike87 Unspecified 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
I really don't recommend this in any way. 40$ is too, TOO much for a simple bus tour. And the fact that 10 minutes into it they are already advertising for other tours is offensive. The tour guide was very sweet, and I liked the pictures included in the tour's booklet, but as a whole I left feeling like a wasted my money and afternoon.
