The tour guide kept all of the participants involved. He was wonderful. He was masterful on the streets, because we know that drivers can be aassholes. It was a real diversion for what we came for. Andre Watts at the hollywood bowl. He cancelled. This tour was our high light.

The tour was full of large and little details - never a boring lapse. The guide was extremely knowledgable and shared with all of us.

this was hands-down the best tour i have ever taken. scott definitely knows his stuff and makes the tour interesting from beginning until end. he plays music and other audio that serves as the PERFECT complement to the tour. i took the sunday morning tour, which i HIGHLY recommend, because the traffic is just about nil at that time in los angeles. GREAT JOB scott, and i can't wait until you start the movie location tours!! i am SO there!!!

Being born & raised in Los Angeles is no excuse for missing this tour. Growing up here in LA. I'd always been intrigued by the scadalous side of Hollywood's history. My friends & I have even done a little "sight seeing", of our own. This tour puts it all together for you. Scott is super knowledgeable & very humorous! My group got some of Hollywood's darker moments as well as some of it's brighter film sites & favorite spots for seeing celebs. I was a little shy about telling folks I went on a Death tour for my birthday, but sInce I've bragged about the tour I've had friends & family that are ready to take Scott's tour the next time I go.

This was a terrific tour. Following the events of August 1969 and seeing the actual sites was just creepy. Scott is an excellent tour guide and he knows so much about what happened. To top it all off, the story about the rocks he collected from the site of the Tate house just gave me chills. Now all I have to do is figure out how those ghostly looking stairs appeared in my picture of Susan Labianca's house. Great job, Scott !!!

I brought a friend who was only in LA for a day on this tour, as a taster of the history of Los Angeles. I myself had been in town a month, but hadn't fancied the prospect of the other tours available..very celbrity driven, with not a lot of proof that said celebs lived in the houses flaunted. my friend was a little worried it would be all death doom and gloom, but it was refreshingly balanced, with historical events and some new and older well known peoples houses shown. the guide was really engaging, and knew both the towns [LA] history, but also notable unusual events in the countries of all the tourists on the tour English, German ect. the guide was open to all questions about buildings, events, where certain stars lived, even his own breakfast contants were up for grabs. 3 and a half hours SOUNDS like a long time, but it flew. we pulled in and wer able to take great photos, the stop off and walk is well planned, the added sound and vision effects are brilliant. I really cannot rave about this tour enough. tipping in LA/America is obligitory, sometimes begrudgingly so. But in thuis instance, it was a pleasure. like the old saying goes, sucess comes from doing something ordinary extraordinary well. if thats the case this tour is a massive success. should be one in every city!!

Scott was full of information and very animated. He obviously loves his job and researches constantly. He was sensative to the kids, and made sure I didn´t let them see anything too graphic. He involved the group in the discussions and answered all of our crazy questions. I highly recommend the tour for anyone who wants to see a bit of the life and death of the rich and famous - or infamous!

An Interesting Tour of Hollywood

Scott, the tour guide, is the key to this tour. He is well researched and balances horror and comedic relief well. It is a great tour to find out more of tabloid LA.

My only comment to Scott is to include more stuff! The man is very passionate about Hollywood folk lore, and it shows. He's the right man for the job! I'm familiar with his website, and wanted to see some more local haunts on his tour -- Sal Mineo, Albert Dekker, Jack Cassady... Minor quibles aside, it's a good few hours, and a pleasant change from the usual crappy tours. Whether your from out of town or live locally, it's worth experiencing. Keep it up Scott. Hope you didn't notice my girlfriend and I sneaking a bite of our sandwiches!

Interesting Lacking Something
Sat, Jul 12, 08   1:00 PM freeway12 Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
Scott Michaels is clearly very knowledgable about Hollywood. The information he gave us was all very interesting. However, the tour was advertised as the Dearly Departed. I thought it would be only about the dead and how they died in Hollywood and the creepy stories, with creepy music playing in the background and creepy videos. We spent a lot of time hearing about which celebrity lived here or there. All interesting, but not what I expected. I suspect Scott's interest really lies in the movie location sites and the history behind that. We learned a lot about the movie Sunset Blvd., but again, not what I expected. Also, there was a lot of time between narration, too much "dead" air. I thought for sure we'd go by Nicole Brown Simpson's house, and the site of Marilyn Monroe's death, Superman's death, Wonderland Murders, etc, but we didn't. I felt that a lot of the major, well-know crime scenes were overlooked. I would suggest that the tour be shorter and limited only to the dead and creepy things about Hollywood. If there aren't that many creepy things about Hollywood, then maybe the tour should be scrapped or renamed, "Historical Mishmash Hollywood Tour." I'm going on the Helter Skelter Tour and I am looking forward to that one. I'll probably go on the location tour, too. However, this one needs reworking.

A MUST TOUR FOR TRUE CRIME FANS

This is our second tour with Scott and we just love him. He is the best. We have not been dissapointed. He has such a knowledge of the case history. We left the tour shocked about all the information that he had about the victims and murderers. Our family ranges in ages from 14 to 75 and we all found it interesting.
