My friend and I are quite interested in what some may refer to as the macabre so we couldn't resist the opportunity to go on this tour.
Unlike many tours I've been on this one had extensive research and the content was accurate and very well planned out. The video footage between locations was a great way to keep the flow of the tour happening while travelling the city.
If you are looking for something sensationalist, this is not the tour to take, it was extremely factual and professionally handled.
I am very interested to see what else this tour company comes out with. |

I can summarize the morning: Scott was a plethora of information on Manson and the events of 1969. It was truly a great experience...I live in L.A. and was shown so many locations I didn't even know about. I would recommend this to anyone/everyone who is intrigued by this tragic time. Not for kids or people who are not into the Manson crimes. I LOVED it. |

This tour is a must for anyone that has even a modest interest in seeing the controversial and dark side of Hollywood. They packed so much information into 3 hours it was incredible. We had Brian as our tour guide and he was fantastic. We may do this tour again on our next trip to LA. |

We really enjoyed this tour. We loved how they'd show the movie scenes on screen and then took you to the place that the scenes were filmed. Brian was a great tour guide. He was enthusiastic and informative. |

Dearly Departed Tour was a blast. Our driver, Brian knew so much information. He had certainly done his homework and seemed genuinely happy to share it.
I would be interested to try some of the other tours offered next time I visit. |

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the "Dearly Departed Tour". We thought our tour leader was a character; entertaining, humorous, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about many famous people and saw a variety of architecture too. I have recommended the tour to many of our friends. |

What separates Dearly Departed tours from other Hollywood tours is not only the locations and stories that are told, but it's the enthusiasm of the tour guides that really make it special. Our guide was such a delight and he had such a passion for the stuff he was showing us. This tour might be seen as morbid by most folks but it's so incredibly fascinating and it's all true! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, tourists and locals alike. |

I wasn't able to make the original tour. Scott at Deadly Departed Tours responded to an email I sent and said I could reschedule. I replied and said I would contact him in the spring. He gave me a date in February. I couldn't go so I didn't repond. Looks like I'm out the money!! |

Very interesting. Even though the Tate house has been demolished there are still other sites too see. Scott is extremely knowledgeable about the crimes and the background and aftermath to them, but he invites discussion too. One tip: If you get car sick easily, consider taking a travel sickness pill - a few parts of the tour are on windy canyon roads. |

bryan does an outstanding job with his insight and knowledge of the hollywood area.what i really liked was how he would take us to a spot where a scene from a movie was filmed and the actual movie scene would be playing on the tv screen inside the bus.
highly recommended. |

Not only did we see sites where famous people had died and/or killed someone, but we stopped at some famous Hollywood homes too. Also, the 12-14 passenger bus we went on was very comfortable but I don't recommend it if you get motion sickness (due to driving around the Hollywood Hills at a fast pace). |

My mom was visiting LA for the first time since my husband I moved to LA last summer (my Mom lives in Kansas) and we took a family friend with us. We had the most amazing time. Brian, the tour guide, has so much passion for the movies and his job that you can't help but feed off of his energy. Very well done, thought out tour. Brian was able to give a description of what we were about to see and some background and cued up the DVD player perfectly each time we were in front of a movie location. I cannot express enough how wonderful this was. I have friends visiting from out of state in May and we will definitely be doing this. |

I love movies and love movie trivia and sight spotting, so this tour was good for me. Worth it just to see the school from Pretty in Pink! I purposely avoided the tours that go to stars' houses so luckily there wasn't much of that. I'm not so into old movies, but still I enjoyed their inclusion and learnt a bit. Some of the sights related to fairly B grad movies - these could perhaps be cut and be replaced with some more up to date movies if possible. A good way to see a bit more of the city too, on our first day. We had a nice tour group too. |
