Dearly Departed Tours

Was really impressed with this tour. We arrived early and were registered then went and had lunch. We came back and left on time. Was impressed with the knowledge of the driver and how much the company had found out about the history and the facts. While some facts were gruesome it is some things that you will not hear on the news and would have to hunt on the internet to find the details. The books with pictures were also interesting and helped you with knowing a little more about the subject matter and learn more about the people. We travelled a good bit through Hollywood and I was not dissappointed. My husband and I were going to book with another company for a similar tour but found this one on the net. Great price and very informative, I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know more about the darker side of LA.

The tour was a great experience. The guide did a great job, presented a lot of information and had a great attitude. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Fun!

Growing up in LA you assume you've been there done that. Currently living in Temecula, on a whim my wife and I (along with our 16 yr old son) took the Tragical History Tour. Not only was it entertaining, it was actually very informative about the history of the area. A city like Hollywood has no shortage of dark, tragic, and sometimes funny stories... this tour will definitely entertain and enlighten you, and I highly recommend it!

This is the 3rd time I've taken this tour, and this is the ONLY tour I've ever taken in Hollywood. More than likely, I'll take it again. I have similar interests to the owner and tour guide that nobody else seems to understand, so it's always fun to be around like minded people, such as the others taking the tour, as well as the guide himself. Brian Donnelly is an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge, not only of the subject matter of the tour, but of Hollywood history and geography. I always recommend this tour to others.

We had a very fun time on this tour! Brian was our guide, he has a wealth of information and truly has a passion for this job! We will take this tour again. My husband & I enjoyed the smaller group van vs. big bus it was much more intement and personal! Brian went above what we expected on this tour! Thank you and we will be back for another fun filled day!

Decided to take a tour for our last day in Hollywood,and so pleased we took this one.From the minute we arrived in Dearly Departeds office Scott Michaels made us feel so welcome with his friendly approach,and great sense of humour.Our guide was Brian Donneley and he was awesome, his amazing Hollywood knowledge,non-stop banter and humour kept the whole bus entertained.My wife has mobility problems but nothing was too much trouble and we never felt rushed throughout the whole tour.Extremely educational and fun,and something quite different for a Valentines day trip.Will take another trip if we return to L.A. Highly recomended.

The Dearly Departed Hollywood Tragical History Tour is the 2nd tour we've been on with Brian Donnelly (the best tour guide ever!). The first tour was the Dearly Departed Hollywood Movie Tour. They were both excellent tours! Brian is SO knowledgeable and FUN to listen to... He talks non-stop (this is a good thing! :) My husband and I had so much fun on this tour, we're planning to go on a third one the next time we're in LA. The tour van holds a small number of people and seemed very personal. Brain was enthusiastic, energetic and willing and able to answer any questions asked! We learned a lot , laughed a lot and had a ton of fun the entire time! Recommendation: GO!!!! ...and have a blast!

As much as i hate to admit to laughing about how famous people die, that's what i did, along with the rest of the tour. The tour isnt very dark, thankfully. Nice little history lesson involved as well. Tour guide was top notch. Sadly did not get the death cert at the end of the tour, not sure if that's because i didn't go back into the office at the end. I would totally recommend this to others, and if they ever do a second version of the tour id go on it.

The tour guide we had was excellent. I can't remember his name at the moment but he told our group things relating to murders and tragedy as well as fun facts about the city. I highly recommend to anyone with a sense of humor or interest in the infamous places in Hollywood/Beverly Hills!

Great, fun tour with lots and lots of interesting facts about old school hollywood. i didn't know many of the actors/actresses the tour guide was talking about, but it was still very interesting. My only complaint is the tour guide talked soooo fast that I missed a lot of information. Otherwise, great tour and would recommend to anyone!

This tour is awesome!!! I totally recommend it to everyone. It's a great mix of famous crimes and deaths along with historical facts about Hollywood. I loved every second of it and would definitely even do it again! Our tour guide, Brian Donnelly, was amazing and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. He was wonderful with giving facts and cool stories and made everyone laugh at the same time. Highly, highly recommend. Also, Scott, is a really awesome guy! We walked around the gift shop and Scott talked with us and it was just awesome. Can't say enough good things about this tour, Brian and Scott. Thanks for the great tour! :)

We had an absolute blast on this tour! Looking for something fun and different to do in LA? This is your tour. I am a local, but still heard lots of info and trivia that was new to me. A slightly twisted, darker version of Hollywood facts, crimes scenes and infamous locations. Our tour guide Brian was very knowledgeable and extremely entertaining. He obviously loves what he does. Next up will be the Helter Skelter History Tour. Can't wait!

I am a CA Local and had family visiting from NY. This tour was so cool. We cruised all around visiting famous crime scenes, learning cool facts about Hollywood I would never have know. I am so glad I did this - so many places I've driven by a zillion times now have new meaning. I am most definetey going back for another tour - I highly recommend this. Our guide was awesome too.

My daughter and I went on the Dearly Departed Hollywood Tragical Tour while visiting the SoCal area. Brian was our tour guide and he was so much fun!! We saw homes/locations where crimes actually took place, as well as several celebrity homes, which I didn't expect but really enjoyed. The tour was 3 hours long and very much worth the price. Brian is extremely knowledgable and not only gave us tons of information, he also interacted with our group which made it extra fun! He obviously loves his job and does it well! I would definitely recommend a Dearly Departed Tour (we wanted to go on the Helter Skelter Tour but it didn't fit into our schedule). Treat yourself to a tour...and prepare for an great time!
