Dearly Departed Tours

We had an awesome time!! one of the best tours we have ever done :) the stuff we got shown and the history behind all the morbid stories was amazing. We got shown alot of the scenes where murders were.Our tour guide was awesome,he did quizzes were you would get a prize if you got the answer right!! and the stuff he was telling us was great as i am right into all the morbid stuff. This tour comes highly recommended by us, if you dont do it while your in LA you are missing out!!

We both had a fantastic time on this tour. Brian was a delight and very knowledgeable and made the time spent with him seem like no time had passed at all. He does exactly what he says - he does a tour the way he would want to be shown a tour. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone and would definitely do this tour again. Thanks to Scott and Brian for putting together such a fantastic time!

I purchased the tickets for myself and my best-friend, it was a birthday gift for her. We had the best time ever. We got to Hollywood a couple hours early. Had breakfast and then walked around Hollywood Blvd. Our DDT guide was Brian he was brilliant! So much detail so much fun. His best advise was "Even if you live in the Los Angeles area take a tour". SO RIGHT!!! The bus was clean, and the widows are large which makes for viewing points of interest a plus. Thanks we had a great time!

Although I missed seeing Scott again, Richard did a fantastic job on our tour!! You've added quite a few other places since the last tour I took..it was fun as usual!!

Great tour, great tour guide!! Very informative and fun tour. If you only have time for one tour, take this one. It is so much more than what is described. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about all of LA and eager to share his knowledge with everyone. He really made it fun. I never take tours because it just isn't my thing. Have been to LA many times and finally decided to take a tour. We made the right choice!!!

My husband and I took this tour after experiencing the Movie Tour with our son from the same operators, having thoroughly enjoyed it. We were on holiday from the UK and took the tour on Wednesday 15th September 2010. From an international tourist point of view this tour covered all the area's that the first time visitor to LA would wish to visit, Beverly Hills and The Sunset Strip included. Even though we had a car with so much to pack in it was unlikely we'd have seen these area's without this tour. Brian our tour guide was warm, friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about his subject.; his passion and enthusiasm for the movie industry and it's seedier tales and characters was immense. The tour doesn't concentrate entirely on the scandal or murders of LA, Brian also made sure that if we passed anything interesting on our way to a planned itinery location that he pointed out homes or roads that would be of interest to anyone generally interested in movies. I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get to Marilyn Monroe's last home but we decided to visit Marilyn's grave in Westwood, Marilyn's home would have been further away and we realised that the geography would have been impossible for the tour operators to include, having said that we did see a couple of her former homes which she had lived in for longer periods than the last house and the history associated with those properties was just as interesting. We really liked Brian and would love to meet him again if we returned to LA and would definately do the Helter Skelter or Nasty Nellie Tour.

Great tour with tons of stops and information. Brian was our guide and he is passionate about what he does. Also liked that he mixed in information not related to "dearly departed" such as pointing out stars homes when we went by them. Would have loved to see the OJ condo and house but I suspect it is too far away for this tour. Would recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about Hollywoods seedy underbelly.

We went on this tour, and basically it was tooo long. The driver was enthusiactic and knowlegible. However, not unless you are with your grandparents you wouldn't even know over 3/4 of who the actors that died were. The are mostly from the 30,s. Its like driving around in hollywood in circles. So not unless you are just looking for something to do. I would'nt recommend it. Some younger people in the back of the vehicle feel asleep.

Thumbs-up! Take this tour and see where some have died. Our tour guide was passionate about the stories and city locations. I think maybe a stop at the hollywood cemetery would be a great addition.

Was not pleased to see two buses leaving at the same time and going separate ways. I thought Scot Michaels was going to do the tour. I also had to drive myself to Marilyn Monroes house and find out that it was gated and could not see anything.,

If you are even remotely interested in the Manson Family, and it's infamous history, you must go on this tour. Scott has put together a really interesting thing here. He knows his stuff, so ask questions.

with the video and the tour guide and the music of the day playing the tour felt like a time warp to me. it also really put into perspective the whole manson story and that crazy summer, to see where all the locations were in relation to each other. very interesting.

This comes highly recommended due to its' content and the knowledge of the guide, i've said slowburner due to the fact that unless you have a basic knowledge of Hollywood scandal and/or it's diverse history, the first part won't mean much to some and puts the meat on the bones for others- the tour pitches at all age groups and has something for everyone even down to our guide pointing out different locations from The Hills as one of our party was a big fan. Very impressed and an enjoyable experience thanks to all involved. A shame the nasty Nellie tour was unavailable, that would have been the icing on the cake!!.
