Mon, Aug 17  1:00 PM romirios Female 40-49 Local Group of Friends
I thought it was intresting some of the tour was really, really intresting and other parts of the tour where very long.it would have been nice to stop at the cementary to see some of the actual grave sites especially at the westwood cementary.the guide made the tour as intresting as possible.also its called "Dearly Departed "why take time to see where George Michaels was arrested and where Hugh Grant was caught?? other than that was fun and interesting.

Good Tour for Locals and Visitors

It's always nice to have a theme when you get on a bus for a city tour. As the places you see are accompanied with stories, things start to get much more interesting. This is a tour where the creators have really done their research. More importantly, they do a great job of keeping the tour updated with the most recent developments in Hollywood history. You can actually get to see all the celebrity homes they point out to you rather than merely their security gates, parking garages, or trees. A lot is covered, from Beverly Hills to Sunset Strip, from Hollywood to Los Feliz and Silverlake. The tragedies will make you feel sad but your tour guide will not let your sadness get deeper as another sight will be coming up pretty soon. Richard was the guide in my tour and he does a perfect job.

We had such a great time on the tour. Not only was it a great tour of those dearly departed, but it's a great tour of the city as well. Highly reccomend this to folks, both local and travelling. Would even do it again! Thanks for such a great time. Jen & Ty

I went once before and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It was informative and entertaining. Would do it a third time and probably will sooner than later.

My son and I went on this tour and really enjoyed it. Richard (our tour guide) was very enthusiastic about all locations and told many funny (and sometimes sad) stories about each location that we passed by. We also had a good group of people and had some good conversations about different places.

Really interesting and great tour

We loved this tour. In addition to the "dearly departed" portion they also cover a number of star homes and LA sites. Our 2 teens were very intrigued by the tour. We would highly recommend this tour when visiting LA.

This is a DIFFERENT tour of Los Angeles, which can be enjoyed by a bored teenager or jaded LA traveler. Great way to see Hollywood and delved into the history of bizarre and well known lives of move stars. Personal narrated tour is enhanced with sounds and snippits of Hollywood. Passenger vans make this tour more personable and comfortable. Stops also give an opportunity for customers to stretch their legs and visit restrooms. Personal experience of narrator made it more interesting. He pointed out all kinds of sites and places giving his own experience.

I enjoyed the tour very much. As someone interested in music history it was really cool to see the places where it happened. I will say if you have young kids, some of the subject matter really isn't appropriate.

Best Tour of Hollywood and Celebrity History
Mon, Aug 10  9:00 AM zkimzim Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
We have attended this tour over the years ever since it was the Graveline Tour in old Cadillac hearses and each time it is better and better!! The hosts are the most accurately knowledgeable and historically correct and able to answer even obscure questions about the famous and infamous. Little details, such as Marilyn Monroe's favorite flower shop (which is still in business!) and the Black Dahlia's favorite bar (also still open) add a great deal and open the opportunity for us in this decade to visit these places and pretend we are experiencing the past. Very up-to-date - included a visit to Michael Jackson's last residence. This tour is full of interesting tidbits about Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Los Angeles, many not known even to those who have lived here. Everyone in our group, young and old, enjoyed this tour very much!!

Enjoyable BUT
Mon, Aug 10  9:00 AM Shabbycat Male 60-69 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
the tour itself was most enjoyable and informative. the guide was amusing and knowledgeable The but however relates to the mini-bus. I had the misfortune to have a seat with a wide bolster next to me and my view was markedly restricted. A mode of transport without such hindrances would be a real plus.

awesome tour! dearly departed ROCKS.

this is an awesome tour! it does not "glamourize" the manson-tate-labianca murders but merely lays out the facts, time table & locations of the events that transpired 40 yrs ago. if you have an aversion to gore, photos from both events are concealed within a binder for each passenger. you are free to look at the photos, keep the binder closed or decline a binder altogether. alot of information is downloaded on the victims, the manson family, the trial, the outcome plus myths disspelled. many LA locations traversed in this lengthy tour. questions & comments are welcome & scott is an excellent, knowledgable guide. a video presentation (no blood or gore from my recollection) & music from the top 20 for that week serves to further the tour during the drive between locations. we have also taken his other tours & this one does not disappoint. plus the "tomb buggy" is comfy & air conditioned!

Fantastic Tour!
Sun, Aug 9  1:30 PM kimmer337 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This is not only an historic tour dealing with a shocking piece of criminal history, but the tour was much better than I expected. I have studied the Tate-LaBianca crimes for decades and learned more on this tour than in most full length books I've read. Scott not only takes you directly to both crime locations, but the stops along the way are more interesting and real. Little details are explained and with some much needed humor! It was a fantastic tour and I don't know enough great words to use to describe how exciting and extremely interesting this tour was. I would take it again and again, every year! Five thumbs up!

I am a bit of a frequent flyer on Scott Michael's tours and each time I walk away with more knowledge and fascination re: the subject matter. The tour was well paced and super informative and interesting. Scott's passion for the content really translates well and is fresh every time. This tour is very interesting and informational.

Spine-tingling Thrills on Helter Skelter Tour
Sun, Aug 9  9:00 AM fishiedoll Female 20-29 Local Individual
I had such a great time on this entertaining and intriguing tour...Founder of Dearly Departed Tours (and our guide) Scott's passion for this history really brings it alive (ahem). I only wish that he would do a day long tour that goes out to the former site of Spahn Ranch and Devil's Canyon and maybe culminates with an evening dinner at El Coyote. Or maybe a two-parter tour set would work. I also liked that he sprinkled the tour with extra tidbits of Hollywood gossip and folklore and pointed out other famous and infamous sites unrelated to the Manson Family murders. I would recommend this tour to others and I plan on taking his other tours in the near future!
