Enjoyed it very much

Our group had a great time. The guys who run it are cool. There are some non-death related facts and tidbits in the tour that provide a good processing time for the rest of the death stuff. At first I was like "why is he talking about that house? No one died there." And then I realized it gave my brain a nice break from all of the other information so I could process more once we got back into the dearly departed part. Good job!! I think it needs an update and I would say some of the information on the lesser known people is too quick since few people have a reference for it, but other than that, it was great. Loved hearing the 911 calls and interviews while driving past the places. Good mix of information and fun. Thanks!

Dearly Departed is NOT a tragic history...

I had so much fun on this tour, from the tour office until the very end! I am a local born and raised LA girl, a celebrity sighting is nothing new to me. I bought these tickets for my significant other for Xmas, she's very into the education of crime, etc. and is always really star struck when we see someone famous. The tour was very informative, even for someone like me that thinks she knows the history of LA and the "hotspot" locations I had many '"oooh" and "ahhh" moments. Our tour guide was funny, informative and generally very pleasant. I am definitely going to do the Helter Skelter tour next. And I have been recommending the Dearly Departed tour like crazy. The only issue, and its not really an issue, is that I got really hungry and food is not allowed on the tour bus. So eat a meal before or take a snack to eat during the bathroom break.

I would HIGHLY recommend this tour!

My husband and I were visiting (from Minneapolis, MN) our CA friend and wanted to go on a tour that would show us movie locations. Our friend suggested we go with the same tour company that she had been on for the Dearly Departed Tour. We all had an amazing time; Brian Donnelly was engaging, fun, and genuine from the moment we arrived and I can't imagine there is anyone else as knowledgeable! My favorite part of the tour was seeing the "Murder House" from American Horror Story and how the DVD clips were perfectly timed with our arrival at the locations. Since my knowledge of older movies is somewhat limited, I felt I walked away with a new appreciation for Hollywood's history. The variety of movie locations from different movie genres is also very appealing. We fully intend on getting back to Hollywood and going on another tour, and we enthusiastically recommend anyone visiting or living in LA to go on one through the Dearly Departed Tours. You will be so glad you did!

Dont be afraid to take a tour in your home town

I was glad when my friend from Missouri came into town and suggested we take the tour. I have always wanted to go on a tour like this, but it took an out of towner to get me to go. Now I want all my local friends to go on a tour with me. It's nice to get the scoop on the history and architecture that we take for granted seeing it all the time. Brian was an amazing tour guide. My friends and I had a great time and that was in part due to Brian's infectious enthusiasm. Fun &informative without being silly or corny.

This was the most exciting tour that I've ever done! We live in the area and are always learning about things that happen in our backyard, past & present. This was an in depth trip around Hollywood that brings you face to face with history. Scott has created a jewel in Los Angeles that deserves the highest awards and Brian is an absolute amazing tour guide. I recommend this tour to everyone visiting and locals alike, you won't be disappointed.

I'd booked a room for my girlfriends birthday and promised to take her on a bus tour. We saw the Dearly Departed storefront as we were driving to our hotel and the sign picqued our interest. Once we started reading reviews of all the tours in town, we made the decision to go on Dearly Departed based on the fact that it went to the George Michael arrest bathroom. We arrived about an hour before the tour and talked to Scott and Brian and looked at the memorabilia collection (Divine's motel door was the highlight of that). Both Scott and Brian are extremely knowledgable and were both very interesting guys. Once we got on the bus, the 3 hours flew by with all the places landmarks we saw and trivia we learned. We were far more interested in the history we learned about the Black Dahlia than seeing Dr. Phil's house. The tour was worth every penny and we can't wait to take the Helter Skelter tour!

The tour was really informative and fun. I took my family to the Dearly Departed's Hollywood Tragical History Tour and everyone left satisfied. It's a great tour for locals as well, I lived in the LA area for 12 years and did not know the history or important landmarks in Hollywood.

i love the website findadeath.com so when we booked a holiday to LA, i made sure this tour was on my list of must do's we got to meet Scott, the creater of the tour and website who was as lovely as he came across online and was happy to answer my questions. Brian did the tour, i was up front with him as i get car sick, he was so enthusiatic and seemed like he loved his job, he showed us not just scenes of famous murders and deaths but also the homes of the stars. there was a folder provided with more detail including gruesome pictures and audio info too. the van was air conditioned and comftable and i could have been driven around listening to Brians knowledge all day, he knows his stuff it was a brillant end to a fantastic holiday and if i ever go back to LA, i will book another tour

Brian did a fantastic job combining some of the more macabre stories from Hollywood with just great tour-guiding. Stories range from the deaths of Rebecca Schaefer to Mae West, with a fair amount of myth-debunking involved. Brian was very funny and personable...and knowledgeable. A great way to spend the afternoon.

Great insights into the case

Scott gave a fascinating tour. It was really interesting to actually see the areas where the murders took place and to get a feel for that time. The use of audio and video really added to the atmosphere. Scott was friendly, considerate of the group, a great narrator, and very sensitive to the nature of what he discussed. He also pointed out sites not necessarily related, but interesting to see nonetheless. Highly, highly recommended for anyone interested in this case.

Interesting tour, but don't sit in the last row
Sat, Oct 6, 12   1:00 PM eurocarpaul Female 30-39 Local Family Without Children
My only complaint is that the tour is scheduled for 13 passengers and the shuttle bus has exactly 13 passenger seats. The first row has two seats, the next two rows have two seats on one side of the aisle and one seat on the other side of the aisle. The last row has five seats across. With five regular sized adults, it was very uncomfortable in the last row. I was stuck in the middle of the last row and couldn't even sit all the way back in the seat because there wasn't enough room. I had to lean forward the entire time which made my back hurt. The gentleman on my left was trying to make room by holding his arm in the whole time; which I'm sure was not comfortable for him either. I strongly suggest that the tour only be booked for 12 adults so the people in the last row can thoroughly enjoy the tour.
