Great fun!

My husband and I went on this tour as a part of our honeymoon in California. I was the one who initiated it, because I love Hollywood history and findadeath.com, but my husband really enjoyed himself as well. Our guide was hilarious, very knowledgeable and personable. The tour itself comprises a large amount of the city and is a great way to see the landmarks and sights and make the most of your time there.

The tour guide we had was excellent. I can't remember his name at the moment but he told our group things relating to murders and tragedy as well as fun facts about the city. I highly recommend to anyone with a sense of humor or interest in the infamous places in Hollywood/Beverly Hills!

Good, but could be even better

I liked the tour, but since the tour was comprised of about 12 people (or so) it is somewhat difficult to ask questions as they pop up...As there are more people, there is a natural tendency to refrain from asking questions, as there is a fear that others will complain, or the tour guide will be become frustrated answering questions, etc....See, if the maximum # of people attending a tour were say, 6, it would be easier to get more engaged, as these are interesting tours, but to REALLY get something out of it, you need to be able to bring up questions..

We wanted to do something fun on our last day in the USA after a 3-week holiday, and this fitted the bill nicely. We enjoyed a relaxed and entertaining afternoon with our tour guide, Brian. Brian clearly has a deep interest in this subject, and enthusiatically recounted stories of meeting some celebrities, as well as offering his own thoughts and opinions (based on research) of celebrity deaths and other Hollywood incidents. The group were encouraged to participate, with prizes (Tootsie Rolls) offered to those who correctly answered random questions about scandals along the way Highly recommended for a fun trip through the dark side of Hollywood.

Cramped and disappointing

Uncomfortable transportation and poor viewing affected the ability of the 5 (average sized) adults in our party to enjoy this tour. We were sore and car sick after contorting our bodies to try to fit in the seats and to view sites. Actually saw very little and thought this was a poor value.

Uncomfortable and only saw 25% of tour

The tour was somewhat interesting. Not sure it really fulfilled its stated promise. We rushed through more interesting celebs and spent too much time on irrelevant details about lesser known people. However, what was the most disappointing was the van in which we were crammed. Before the tour even started, I couldn't wait to get off. Not only did my knees get rug burned because they were ground into the seat ahead of me but I couldn't see half of what was being shown due to the cramped conditions and poor window views. Half of our party ended up turned in our seats because we couldn't get our legs in. I was only able to view about 25% of the tour. Our driver/guide was a good narrator. Like a good tourist my party gave up $5 each person to the guide as was suggested by postings throughout the van. The tour is a novel idea and we tried it.

Super Day Seeing & Hearing about Inside Hollywood

This was a very enjoyable tour. The time flew by so quickly even though the tour lasted over 3 hours. The guide was very personable and showed a genuine interest and enthusiasm for his job. He answered every question that was asked. He gave lots of tidbits and then provided how he found out the info to give it relevancy and accuracy. When he found out where some of the interests laid within the group, he customized the tour to give everyone a better idea of who, what, when, where and why. He was particularly knowledgeable about the rock and roll scene. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting LA.

This tour was packed full of interesting bits of information as well as a fun tour of the locations of celebrity deaths. Our guide, Brian, was terrific and extremely knowledgable. I highly recommed this tour and look forward to taking another tour with Brian.

( i apologize for the horrible grammar) i thoroughly enjoyed the dearly departed tour...i went with my boyfriend for my 26th birthday because it was recommended to me by a few of my co-workers...i was not disappointed! the tour guide was well informed and enthusiastic...i only wish there was more info on the manson murders in the basic tour (i realize there is a separate tour specifically focused on that) other than that it was awesome! thanks for the great brthday!

Our guide was terrific and this tour could not have been more fun! There was a lot of information packed into the two and a half hours, some fine details I may forget, but overall this tour was something I will remember forever due to the group participation, enthusiasm and interaction from our guide and overall positive feel. Could not be more satisfied.

I took this tour with my husband, it was a great way to see Hollywood and Beverly Hills and learn a bunch of interesting history! Tons of info, lots of fun! Tidbits on current celebrities, too. Note: This is for mature audiences only, some story and visuals were very graphic/violent/morbid, but very interesting and critical to shaping Hollywood history.

Pretty Good, not fantastic

Although I generally enjoyed this tour, I felt it wasn't *quite* as morbid as I had hoped. It was neat that they showed us Rebecca Schaeffer's apartment, the street where they filmed Halloween, and that they discussed the Black Dahlia. But there was a lot of the more tedious, modern celebrity stuff I didn't care about--the site where Rihanna was beaten up by Chris Brown, for example--that I wish was less focused on. We stayed mostly in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, so I felt it was sort of limited in scope. It would've been cool if they delved into the OJ Simpson case (that was Brentwood, no?) or the Manson Murders (which they only mentioned when we passed the El Coyote Cafe). I would've liked to have seen Sharon Tate's house, but I understand they only visit it on a separate tour. Overall, not a bad way to spend an afternoon, and if you're interested in the morbid side of Hollywood history, you are sure to enjoy it to an extent. Our tour guide (I think his name was Richard) was funny.

Tour could use a lot more death and a lot less "This is where David Schwimmer lives." The nightclub spots and rock 'n roll info was cool......could stand some more of that whether or not anyone died on that spot. Overall, we had a good time!

More than a tour about the departed
Mon, Jul 6, 09   1:00 PM HEIDIKMCC Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We booked this tour because my grown daughter was interested in this type of tour. The tour was very interesting, and we enjoyed it. As we passed many of the places where people had "departed" we also passed other sights which were brought to our attention. We took a general tour of LA the following day, and found that we had already seen many of the sights with Scott on the Dearly Departed tour. Scott was extremely knowledgable about this topic. We were allowed to ask questions, and he answered them all willingly. I understand that Scott is planning a new tour about filming sites of movies. The people on the tour will be shown a clip of a movie and will then see the actual filming location. I would love to go on this tour, and will definitely do so if I am in LA again.
