Very informative

I live in Beverly Hills and I never knew that all those events in Helter Skelter happened in my neighborhood (except the murders, of course) I found the guide very knowledgable. The ride was comfortable. The extra info he had ei. video and sound recordings were fascinating and I had never heard those before. I would recommend this to friends for sure.

This was a very informative and reflective tour on the 40th anniversary of the tragedy. Scott has obviously done tons of research on the subject and on this tour you wil find out the little know details that you don't get elsewhere. I would highly reccomend this tour.

Very Informative And Entertaining
Fri, Aug 7, 09   1:00 PM GKAUFFMAN Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This was a very interesting tour about the dark and seedy side of L.A. We covered most of the suicides, drug overdoses and other means of untimely deaths that occured in the Hollywood area to many celebrities over the years. The tour guide Scott Michaels does a great job of describing what occured at each site visited. I would not reccomend the tour for young childred but all in all a great informative tour and was one of the highlights of our trip to SOCAL.

Not only a trip of the dearly departed, but also, tidbits of who lives here ,who lived there and what a famous person saw out her window are weaved throughout this well planned and organized tour of Hollywood's famous departed, I would strongly recommend this tour to all! Tour guide is well informed and knows his stuff, it is obvious he loves Hollywood's history and has spend much time in his love of it gathering the facts and doing the research that enables the guests to power pack this tour with lots of little tidbits spread evenly throughout the tour.

It was so nice to have a guide who was involved and happy to show you what he knows. Scott is excited about trivia and loves to share his knowledge. It is wonderful to see someone with passion about his work..... I would recommend this tour. The tour not only covered the tragic deaths but also Movie trivia, current Hollywood interests, and for people who like houses it was great, Scott might want to check out county records and find out what the taxes and assessed values are on some of the larger homes, it would be another insightful point to add.

Awesome - The Unadvertised Extras

This was an awesome experience. It was cool to see all of the out of the norm stuff! The experiences that were shared were awesome! I think the two coolest things were: #1 - The referral to the Parissiene Florist to see the Joe DiMaggio baseball. I almost missed my plane, would have been worth it. # 2 - The field from the movie Grease, my wife filpped at the rather poor pictures. Personally, I can't stand the movie, but I got brownie points. Thanks!!!! Craig

Love It!!!!!

We absolutely loved this tour, and would do it again in a heartbeat. While I was a bit disappointed not to have Scott as our tourguide, the disappointment faded quickly as it became apparent that Richard was absolutely wonderful. Very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about Hollywood in general, not just in regards to celebrity deaths. Also, the tour included a lot of interesting trivia and several points of interest that did not pertain to famous deaths, so it wasn't like it was all "gloom and doom" - and for the most part, even the parts that were were handled with respect, and a touch of humor. Great for someone who is fascinated with the mystique of celebrity death but not interested in being "grossed out." My only complaint is this: I wish the tour was longer!! I would have gladly spent an entire day riding around Hollywood, checking out the scenes and locations of celebs' "last days" and other interesting locales, hearing any and all of the fascinating stories that Richard and Scott would be willing to share. I wish we had more time in LA - I would love to do the Hollywood Movie Locations tour. I would also be very interested in the Manson tour - but that one I'd do with just my husband and myself - wouldn't bring the kids. Thanks, Scott and Richard - for a wonderful time!!

Great tour!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much we covered in 3 hours - we saw a great deal of interesting places of all sorts. Our guide was great as well, very knowledgeable, friendly and funny - and i liked that it was a smaller busload of folks. I would definitely recommend it to others, and already have in fact - and i plan on taking some of your other tours as well especially next time i have family or friends in town. One idea may be to have a handout for people, even if it's at the end of the tour, with some visual reference and info that lists all the places we saw so that when going through your pics you can be sure to remember what each was, and maybe a couple of bullet points of interest about each place. I started taking notes since i have somewhat of a bad memory, which helped when going through an labeling my pics later on so i could show people what it was that i saw. Just a suggestion, i wouldn't say it would make or break the experience, but may be a help to some people so they can take it all in without trying to remember so much and write things down for later. :) Thanks for a fun time!

Best Tour in Town
Fri, Jul 24, 09   1:00 PM colerucker1 Male 40-49 Local Family Without Children
I had a family member in town visiting and went on the tour based on the recommendation of a friend. I have been on other Hollywood tours with out of town guest- and none compared to the Dearly Departed Tour. The three hours flew- it felt more like 30 minutes. I plan to take the Helter Skelter tour and the new Movie Site tour as well. Also plan to send all of my house guests for the Dearly Departed experience.
