Dearly Departed Tours

We went with a group of six friends and we had so much fun. Brian our tour guide was hilarious. I would recommend this to everyone and Im telling everyone I know about it.

Brian did a fantastic job combining some of the more macabre stories from Hollywood with just great tour-guiding. Stories range from the deaths of Rebecca Schaefer to Mae West, with a fair amount of myth-debunking involved. Brian was very funny and personable...and knowledgeable. A great way to spend the afternoon.

I went on this tour with my sister and brother-in-law and boy, did we love it! A family of 5 had cancelled right before we arrived, so we had the bus all to ourselves. Brian, our bus driver, was GREAT! Can't say enough good things about him. He was incredibly informative, knowledgeable about film and the LA area, and you can tell he's just a big movie lover. As a fellow film buff, this was so nice. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to check out some great movie locations, be led by a very nice and enthusiastic tour guide, and to anyone who wants to relax and see some of LA.

Scott Miicheals is one of the foremost authorities on Manson facts and trivia. Your day will be filled with information with a rockin soundtrack and video in the background. Don't be afraid to ask him any questions because he will know the answer. No "Gee I don't know's" here"! Please buy the video for the tour also as it contains scenes of Death Valley and Barker Ranch which is to far to travel to and the ranch burned down so its nice to have. Hey I bought a tshirt too! You will have a blast!!!!!

Scott gave a fascinating tour. It was really interesting to actually see the areas where the murders took place and to get a feel for that time. The use of audio and video really added to the atmosphere. Scott was friendly, considerate of the group, a great narrator, and very sensitive to the nature of what he discussed. He also pointed out sites not necessarily related, but interesting to see nonetheless. Highly, highly recommended for anyone interested in this case.

I heard about this on NPR last year, and managed to work the haunted play into a trip (I live in Maryland). Came with 2 CA friends. We all absolutely loved it. Hope to be able to arrange another trip next year....

My only complaint is that the tour is scheduled for 13 passengers and the shuttle bus has exactly 13 passenger seats. The first row has two seats, the next two rows have two seats on one side of the aisle and one seat on the other side of the aisle. The last row has five seats across. With five regular sized adults, it was very uncomfortable in the last row. I was stuck in the middle of the last row and couldn't even sit all the way back in the seat because there wasn't enough room. I had to lean forward the entire time which made my back hurt. The gentleman on my left was trying to make room by holding his arm in the whole time; which I'm sure was not comfortable for him either. I strongly suggest that the tour only be booked for 12 adults so the people in the last row can thoroughly enjoy the tour.

The tour was great. The guide was funny, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgable. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to see more of Hollywood and learn more about the things that happened there.

It was the best tour I have ever taken.

My husband and I live in LA but we have out-of-town guests on a regular basis. The tour was great!! Besides being really interested and very funny at times (Thanks Brian!) we didn't have to drive, everything felt very easy and it was a solid 3 hours of entertainment for a reasonable rate. We are sure to return with more friends to try all the tours they offer! Thank you too, Scott. Congratulations on a great business!

Our Driver/Guide Richard was great! Coming from SoCal, I've been on a few tours, but this was the best! Fun, informative and irreverent!

Great info. Curious why we never saw location of Black Dahlia. Perhaps an open air van for better viewing and photos. Really glad I went. Hope to go on the Helter Skelter tour at some point. Thanks!

The tour was both interesting and fun. Our guide Brian was quite knowledgable about the tour subject matter as well as LA and Hollywood. He put a fun spin on the tour.
