Full of Facts and Fun

Scott (our tour guide) was what my friend described as a 'true-believer". His love of Los Angeles was apparent throughout the tour. His knowledge of true crime as well as other L.A. fun facts makes this tour extremely worthwhile. For locals or visiting friends this is a great way to spend the afternoon.

Scott is a fountain of knowledge!

We (me/mom/aunt/, daughter 14 and niece 18) took this tour in June and enjoyed every minute of it! Scott does a fine job of providing bizarre tidbits of knowledge/juicy gossip mixed with a tour of stars' homes/death scenes/crime scenes. He also gives info regarding other areas of interest and, most impressively, is passionate about preserving Hollywood history. He's spent a lot of time researching the subject and Hollywood--seems to know everything about the area. Hard to believe he's not a native Californian. He's also very lively and fun to listen to. Anyone who's interested in Hollywood history, stars of today and notorious events of the past will love Scott's tour.

One of the best tours in Hollywood

Our family enjoyed this tour probably the best of the four tours that we did in Hollywood. Scott, the owner of Dearly Departed, took us throughout the entire area, showing us "Old Hollywood" history as well as recent history. Scott is very personable, knowledgeable, and a fun tour guide. He encourages interaction throughout the tour, answering every question asked, including from the kids. He uses photos, sound tracks, and discussion as he directs his tour at the various key locations completing the visualization for you. As mentioned, he knows great detail about the history of Hollywood, and the actors/actresses that I'm aware of from my experiences. Of course, not all of them the teenage kids knew about...but he kept their interest. Part of that was because throughout the whole day he showed us where the "Tabloid" activities occurred, where some of the "modern day" movies were filmed, and other items that kids are interested in hearing. The other interesting thing that Scott does is not only answering questions, but will take you by the sites people were asking him even if wasn't part of his "original" tour. This personal touch on his tour makes it very special for the everyone.

Tragical History Tour - Juicy and enjoyable
Thu, Jun 5, 08   1:00 PM Delaine Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My husband and I enjoyed the Tragical History Tour very much. It was great being driven around for over 3 hours in air conditioned luxury. We loved the special touch of the "soundtrack" he put together... it contained songs, actual 911 calls and other unique sound bites that corresponded to the tour. The other special touch was the binder of photos that matched up with the sights along the way. It was interesting to compare houses - then vs. now using the photos. The guide had a very pleasant, professional voice. There were many great stories and I learned a lot of great gossip. My husband wasn't sure about doing this tour but afterward he gave it very high marks. It was fun stopping at the infamous George Michaels restroom. We even got a photo of the urinal. I would recommend even a few more relevant songs to fill the down time during the drive. I wish I could've done the Manson Tour as well!

Loved everything about the tour. Thought it was excellent. Already told people about it and gave information. You should put it on the Orange County Employees' Association so more people in Orange County know about it. It's an association for the employees of Orange County and this is their union. They give discounts to certain events. I think this would be excellent
