Excellent tour of the seedier side of Hollywood

Had heard of this tour through friends a while ago and because they had raved on so enthusiastically about it we decided it was a must to do. In fact we deliberately arranged to leave Vegas early in the morning to ensure we went on this tour before catching our international flight home. Apart from the details of the 'Dearly Departed' variety, we were treated to all manner of good anecdotes and gossip about current TV and film folks to those of yesteryear. The guide was enthusiastic, had great stories, was interesting and encouraged questions and group involvement. The tour was well paced and we covered a lot of LA. Lots to see and we had a booklet of pictures and information to go with the spiel. I would say that this tour is a must if in LA. Very personable guide and the tour is excellent value for money. I am hoping that next time in LA they have another tour so that I can do something with them again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This was a great tour... it's a bit different to some of the other tours in LA but its not too disturbing and very entertaining.. My advice would be to do this tour before a stars home tour as they cross over a bit, but I loved it... lots of fun and a bit quirky.. definately a highlight of my time in LA.

Potty Breaks

I am a return customer and I did have a great time. However, I did note that the route of travel has been altered due to the new starting point. Unfortunately this puts the potty break in the first 20 minutes of the tour, leaving 3 hours of "no bathroom" to get through. My entire group was frantically dashing for the facilities at the end of the tour. The biggest problem with this is that the final hour of the tour, most of my party was concentrating more on their bladders than on the tour. The only other issue I noticed was that the parking is quite expensive. I realize that one can get validated for the first two hours, however if you don't have time to go in to the shops after the tour, you're just stuck with a $20 parking fee.

I loved this tour and I'm glad I was watching the show where I saw the guy from DearlyDeparted on it(I don't remember what show or the name of the guy). I don't think I would've ever known about this otherwise. Our guide was hilarious and knowledgeable. I loved seeing all the sights of things you see in movies. We are planning to come back in 5 years and hopefully by then the other tour will be up & running-the one mentioned by our guide about movie locations. I'll definitely keep checking. Or maybe we can try to get on the Helter Skelter tour. Thanks for an very enjoyable time!!

I've done tours in LA before before which were pretty average and so I was a bit apprehensive about shelling out money for yet another tour. I asked around and this one was recommended to me by an american friend who said it was the only one they would recommend. The tour included not just murder and death sites but celebrity homes, movie locations, and key Hollywood landmarks, so it was everything wrapped into one tour. Our tour guide really knew his stuff and was happy to include other requested locations in the tour if time allowed. He was friendly and professional and really really knew his stuff and was clearly passionate about what he did. His knowledge of some of the more obscure locations and events showed how much work had gone into hunting down stories and locations. All in all this tour was fantastic value for money, riveting from start to finish, and highly recommended.

I've been to LA many times but this time I was traveling with a friend who had never been so I was looking for something out of the ordinary to do. We really enjoyed this tour. It was informative, fun and not gruesome at all. I would of suggested more than one bathroom break though, 3 and a half hours in a van is a long time. I really thought that tour guide Richard was great, he was knowledgable and really stopped and let us take photos etc. If you are in LA and are looking for something fun and out of the ordinary to do, I highly recommend this tour!!!!

Fun twist to sightseeing in Hollywood!

I didn't want to do the typical tour of the stars homes. It was fun to see and hear a different side of Hollywood. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the history and he made the trip interesting, yet funny. The pictures and auditory recordings that went along with the tour were an unexpected bonus. Thanks!

I am a friend of Scott Michaels' and I wanted to take my parents on the tour. Since I know Scott, I have been on his tour a few times, so I knew what to expect. Richard did a great job, he brought something different to the tour. My parents enjoyed it as well.
