Outstanding Tour

We loved this tour, even though it was 100 degrees & traffic was terrible to us. (Well, it is LA, after all!) Richard was a great guide. We highly recommend.

We had a great time, guide was extremely informative. The tour took us to a lot more destinations then I expected. Will go on another tour when back in the LA area!

Well Worth the Price and Worth the Time

This was an excellent tour if you are into the macabre, but even if you aren't there were plenty of Old Hollywood sites (Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio's Old House) and new Hollywood sites (bathroom that George Michael made famous). Without a doubt the best part of the tour was the tour guide, Scott Michaels. He is clearly passionate about his work and he goes out of his way to answer any question and is incredibly knowledge about old and new Hollywood. The only thing I would have liked, that was not included would have been a tour of the one of the cemeteries (although we did pass the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and were informed about who was interred), but an extra hour or so might be too much for some.

Tour is good but the guide was extremely rude

I enjoyed the tour itself but our tour guide at the end of the tour expected more of a tip then I offered him. He refused my money and told me and another lady that had a few dollars tip for him that he hoped we did not tip our waiters and waitresses like that there, and, that it was very rude to try and give someone a dollar or 2 for a tip. This was my first tour and I did not even know we could tip the guy in the first place. I had no other change then $ 100's and told him that and that it was my first tour and I didn't know. He was not understandable at all or kind. He said, "you do not EVER do that here", that it was so rude. I felt like telling him if someone gives you something they did not even have to give after already having payed for the tour and out of kindness you should at least be respectful about it. When we left there I heard the other lady saying how rude he was too. Out of all the tours we went on this was the only one that even had a gradtuity sign up in the van. It should have said " pay me $ 10.00 or up and I will be happy... Ruined my vacation day...

Loved It!!!

My husband and I along with out 2 children (17 & 19) loved this tour. Scott was great and he had lots of information. It was the highlight of our vacation. Its very nice because there arent too many people on the bus with you. The book that Scott provides for you is great. It really helps you see things more clearly and helps you if you didnt know alot about that specific crime. Scot was also very helpful about goivng us ideas about other things to do in the area. If we ever visit L.A. again this tour will be at the top of out "do agian" list.

My husband and I went on the Dearly Departed tour early last week. While I was aware that the tour would enclude some viewing of stars homes, I did not realize that this would be the majority of the tour. As the name implies, I expected more of the darker side of Hollywood; deaths, ghosts, etc. I was sorely disappointed. If you are looking for a tour of mostly the Hollywood glitter and glamour, then this is the tour for you. If you are looking for a darker type of tour I would recommend you look elsewhere.

I really wanted to take a Hollywood tour that was a little different, and this was it. The tour guide was friendly and enthusiastic and he obviously knows a lot about the history and tragedy of Hollywood. There was a great mix of old and new, enough to keep anyone interested. I would (and have!) recommend this tour to everyone.

Money and Time Well Spent!

I lived in LA for 10 years and knew nothing of what I was told on the tour. A great job is done of blending audio, pictures and of course the actual sites. It was interesting and I was amazed at how our guide knew the answer to any and every question he was asked! You will not be disappointed if you do this tour, I would and will recommend this to everyone I know!

I recomend this tour very much,Scott is a very knowledgable tour guide! He has vast knowledge of numorous incidents and individuales.I have been to California a few times in the past ,and never could find four of the stops on his tour.It was well worth the price and we traveled in comfort. It was the highlite of our trip to California, and something I always wanted to do ever since learning of Scott and his website.Bravo Scott !
