Fun!

I truly enjoyed this tour. It was great to find a tour that integrated viewing star home but with a dark and intriguing twist. Thank for a positive experience. Laura

But didn't care for the bus. It was hard to see out the windows. We did however have crazy and fun conversation that was enlightening and was the core of the tour. I will do this tour again!

Best Tour in LA?! An amazing experience!
Sun, May 10  1:00 PM effiedarrow Female 30-39 Combination Couple on a Date
My husband and I absolutely loved this tour! Everything about it was exceptional. It struck the perfect balance between obscure/cult/underground places/people/events in Hollywood with more well-known celebrities/places/events. The driver was nice, knowledgable and we really like how he spoke most of the time, but also incorporated audio commentary and music, I mean playing some of Manson's music and drawing the connection with the Beach Boys?! Genius! We stayed in LA a few days and were feeling a bit soured on our experience of the city but taking this tour turned that all around for us, you got a real sense of neighborhoods and Hollywood history, both good and bad, I walked away feeling like I really knew the town. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, it's an unforgettable, educational and just totally fun experience!

AWESOME TOUR

Scott is a great guy. Very friendly and outgoing. The most impressive thing is his knowledge on Hollywood. WOW!! I'm signing up for the Helter Skelter tour next...

More than I expected
Thu, May 7  1:00 PM Raybluestone Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Just like the roller coaster ride at an amusement park, I wanted to get right back in line and do it again! Our guide Scott was not only knowledgable but displayed a genuine interest in the history and the people he told us about. Each of us was handed an album of vintage photos of the people and locations we visited, which added to the experience of "being there". I was excited to see a picture of Bette Davis standing in front of the "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" house, and recognize the house in front of me as the same one in the picture. Hearing a recording of the police call from the Mendendez brothers while sitting in front of the house where they murdered their parents was erie. I got more detailed information than I expected, plus questions were welcomed and answered. I will plan to take some of the other tours the next time I visit.

If This Seems Like Your Kind of Thing

The tour guide was great!! He has a wealth of knowledge of the places he drives past that are part of the tour as well as tid bits of information on the city in general. He also seems to be committed to continually increasing this database of knowledge. There are not very many stops where the group is able to exit the 'buggy' in order to look around, but given the nature of the tour people that presently live in these places wouldn't want multiple groups of people snooping around. My friend and I had a blast; we are very intrigued by these kinds of stories and we were greatly satisfied. I would recommend any tour this particular tour guide is heading up!

Great alternative tour
Wed, May 6  1:00 PM Richebourg Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The tour crams a huge amount of information. Scott never stops and the tour is as much an insight into his love of most things Hollywood as well as the people, the buildings and their stories. It is very funny most of the time whilst shocking and disturbing on other occasions. It is historical with points of interest going back to activities in the 1920s right up to present day. Real life and death is seamlessly blended with life on the silver screen. Scott really speaks his mind and that really suited me as I have a similar set of values. Because of this I would not recommend the tour to Scientologists! As well as Scott's commentary some recordings are played that intensify the experience. In the next few months Scott will roll out a new tour which will include audio-visual material. I wish him all the best and when next in Los Angeles I will certainly sign up for the new tour. Excellent Tour Leader and Something Different
Wed, May 6  1:00 PM wvickers Male 50-59 International Tourist(s) Individual
An excellent combination of the off beat and more conventional Hollywood/Beverly Hills "celebrity" tours. Tour designer and Leader provides great detail and effective use of Police records and photos to add depth to the experience. Perhaps a little too much time spent in the vehicle : some more time on foot would be great if possible to organise.

Loved every sorted detail!

My husand first heard about the tour by searching death tours LA on Google. We read the itinerary of the tour and signed up immediately. I expected the tour to be a typical, cheesy, Hollywood Tour but was really impressed as to how much of LA we covered on the tour. I was equally impressed with Scott's knowledge he provided as part of his tour. It truly brought these tragic events to live and I loved it. I would absolutely take another tour offered by DDT regardless of the subject matter. As I said, the subject of tour was really intriguing and Scott's narration and personal anecdotes were as informative as they were entertaining. I wish DDT lots of success!

Very interesting and quite enjoyable.....

The 3+ hours fly by on this information packed tour of L.A. I've done the tour before and there is still more information that I didn't get to hear from the last time. Tour bus was full and it wasn't uncomfortable. Scott is very personable and made the experience fun and light hearted. I will continue to recommend this to all my friends and personally will be taking the new tour that he is starting.

We really enjoyed the tour. Two of our party have lived in Los Angeles 20+ years and one was a first-time visitor. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the wealth of information provided.

Wonderful

We were only in LA for a day so we had to be very selective as to which tour we booked. This seemed very querky and unusual whilst covering the areas of the city we were most interested in. We were not disappointed. It was brilliant and so very interesting and entertaining we are still talking about it. It was the highlight of our trip and it is so good to be able to tell friends we have seen such varied sights from the places we had only previously seen on television. These included the homes of the famous, points of interest, famous murder spots, and, of course, the gossipy stuff like where George Michael and Hugh Grant was arrested. It was so very interesting !!! Our guide was excellent - he was very knowledgable and I was really disappointed when it was over. I was so engrossed I forget to take photos. I suppose I will just have to go back and do it all again.

Dearly Departed Tour Informative but too long
Sat, Apr 18  1:00 PM maria_nalecz Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My family took the tour in April. We arrived early as requested, even earlier at 12:30 for our 1:00 tour. Unfortunately our driver was late arriving after 1:00. That aside, the guide was very knowledgeable and and tried to entertain us with stories of past local crime victims. Seeing the Beverly Hills homes was interesting. We got our of the van once, 45 minutes into the trip, which was too soon to need a rest stop. We did not get out again until the end, around 4pm! We could have used another stop to get out and walk around, perhaps at the hollywood cemetery, to stretch and get air. Overall, the tour was just too long. Two hours would suffice.

better second time around
Sat, Apr 18  9:30 AM claypresley Male 40-49 Local Group of Friends
Went on the tour for the second time with friends and everyone who went before commented that they enjoyed it more this time. Interesting, because the material was essentially the same and had the same guide. I think this is what make the tour very good is that interest didn't wane. So would highly recommend this tour!!!!!!!!
