Dearly Departed Tours

Very fun, fast paced tour! The guide was funny and full of information. Highly recommended!

An entertaining way to see the city (which is a real pain to drive around in on your own!) while learning about the tragic and sometimes gruesome history of Hollywood and its environs. Very knowledgable tour guide and accomodating for those who had special interests ( like stopping at Marilyn Monroe's orphanage.) Liked the books with images passed to those on the bus as well as the video/audio -- very affecting to hear some of the audio like the 911 calls. One suggestion is not to have four people in the back -- three would be more comfortable and we were not large folks. Another would be to stop at one of the cemeteries, even if briefly, but definitely worth the price of a ticket -- eye opening even for those who live there.

The tour exceeded my expectations.

I enjoyed this tour and really did not think it was gruesome at all. The deaths that were discussed were all tastefully talked about and there was nothing I really had not heard about them already. I enjoyed seeing a large part of Hollywood and Beverly Hills and the Sunset Strip on this tour. Richard was very knowledgeable about the sights he showed us.

Fantastic and information filled trip. Driver was fantastci and really out going ..... had a blast!

OMG!! Best tour EVER!!! I am star struck and ghoulish (I stare at the pages they warn you about, thinking "what the hell??"....of course I wouldn't recognize a celebrity on the street it he/she bit me, and I guess with dead people that's really not a concern, but I love this stuff!! Brian was the best tour guide I have EVER had and I've taken many tours in the area. He's fun, funny, informative and he knows his ghoulish shhtuff!! Coming back in a couple weeks with my sister for ther birthday, my daughter, her daugher and our other "sister"....a better time cannot be had!!!! Except maybe on the Helter Skelter tour....haven't done that one yet and I have my theories!!

Our tour guide was Brian Donnelly and you can tell how much he loves his job. He was full of detail about all of the many places we visited and you could tell he enjoyed it as much as the first time vistors! We saw countless homes where new and old movies were filmed. I would highly recommend taking this tour. You get to see much of the city and it will be hard to find a tour guide that is enjoyable as Brian.

I have been on a couple of Dearly Departed tours with Brian Donnelly and he has always done a fantastic job so while in town with the family thought we would try the movie tours. We were certainly not disappointed as we went to many sites where clips of movies some famous and some not so famous were filmed. I can't imagine anyone putting more effort into his touring work than Brian does with his knowledge of the subjects being covered. I would like to see a "Dearly Departed 2 tour" sometime in the future with new topics and sites.

Scott was the best! This was a great tour that was done with respect shown to the victims and their families. Scott was very informative and a great guide. He was open to all questions and comments. Highly Recommended!!!

I would definitely recommend this tour. The tour guide was great, learned lots of things I didn't know even being a local.

I dragged half my family with me to take this tour because I had heard about it on tv. Not only did I love it but my whole group had an amazing time. Our tour guide Brian was enthusiatic and fun and really knows his stuff. Best tour we went on while we were visiting Hollywood and would have taken it ten more times if we had stayed longer. My family and myself are now telling everyone that the Dearly Departed tour is the tour to take it!! DO IT!!!

I did this tour last minute and I dont regret it. I had fun. I learned so much information about the area I live near. I also found new places to visit on my days off. The best tour.

We had a fantastic time on the DD tour and would readily recommend it to others. Scott and Brian are both extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter, and clearly love their jobs. The tour was worth every penny, and I will go again when I return to LA!

I thought the tour was very good. It was very informative, although I wish it would have included some other famous death spots (such as Marilyn Monroe house, or Tate-LaBianca houses) although I understand there is a time limit on the tour, Marilyn Monroe should be one of the top ones I would think. The only complaint I had is that on Dearly Departed Facebook Page I was told that I could use a code to get $5 off and if I called instead of booked online I would get an additional $8 off. That did not happen. When I called to make the reservation, I was told that they cannot take off an additional $8. Overall the tour was good, I would recommend it to others.
