Dearly Departed Tours

We had a fantastic time on the DD tour and would readily recommend it to others. Scott and Brian are both extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter, and clearly love their jobs. The tour was worth every penny, and I will go again when I return to LA!

I thought the tour was very good. It was very informative, although I wish it would have included some other famous death spots (such as Marilyn Monroe house, or Tate-LaBianca houses) although I understand there is a time limit on the tour, Marilyn Monroe should be one of the top ones I would think. The only complaint I had is that on Dearly Departed Facebook Page I was told that I could use a code to get $5 off and if I called instead of booked online I would get an additional $8 off. That did not happen. When I called to make the reservation, I was told that they cannot take off an additional $8. Overall the tour was good, I would recommend it to others.

If you a good Hollywood gore story then this is the tour for you. Give the celeb tours a go but I am sure you will prefer this, from George Michaels loogate to the black dahlia what more could you ask for in sunny LA. Next time we go to LA will for sure do the Charles Mason tour.

We were looking for an offbeat tour that would appeal to two teenage girls, a mother in law and my wife and I. This tour fits the bill and the tour guide Brian was non stop with the action and information. I lived in Los Angeles all my life and heard about most of the events seen in the tour but to actually visit and get an in depth perspective is truly enlightening. We had fun. My 13 year daughter did get a little disturbed by some of the events but I told her it only happens in Hollywood... sigh.

This is a terrific tour. A tour is a tour but a tour guide who is extraordinary is what takes this tour to the stratosphere. Brian knows more about Hollywood than anyone on this planet. He is passionate about what he does. Every minute was fun.....there was a tantalizing story around every bend. Can't even pick a highlight cuz it was ALL a highlight!! Get your camera ready and prepare for a magical trip.

All of the positive reviews are correct. 5 stars all the way. Even if you think you know everything, you will learn something new. Nothing but the facts and a tour that blows the others away.

This was so much fun! Brian was our tour guide and he was the best. Very knowledgable and funny. Would do again!!!!

I highly recommend the Dearly Departed tour. The tour offers a most unique look at LA, while also showcasing the more usual sites and interests. The 2.5 hour tour actually lasted closer to 3 hours and the additional time was most appreciated. Founder Scott Michaels has compiled a detailed history into the underbelly of LA and our tour guide Brian Donnelly was most knowledgeable and highly entertaining adding his own rich and historic perspectives. The ordering process on Zerve was flawless.

We've been wanting to take this tour for sometime and we finally did it. Brian was our tour guide and he gives the tour with so much vigor and gusto. He also provided little known tidbits of tinseltown. The tour was approximatley 2.5 hours, when it was over, we wanted more! Kudos to Scott and Brian!

Remember that name, it will be on your Dearly Departed Final Exam. I live in L.A. and had been wanting to take this tour forever. Not getting any younger, I thought I should do it before I join the Dearly Departed myself. Our tour guide was Brian, and it's downright scary how much he knows about Hollywood scandals, deaths and sleaze. But scary in a GOOD way! Also, free Tootsie Rolls! Enthusiastically recommended for everyone except the squeamish and small children...unless you parental units want to be explaining terms like "autoerotic asphyxiation" to Buddy and Sis.

I have long followed Scott Michael's Findadeath site, but his tour brings it all to life. We were met by an enthusiastic Scott in the Dearly Departed tours office. He was friendly and interactive. Brian, our tour guide, arrived just full of energy and excitement. He filled the 2 hour tour with great stops and fun facts and details, not to mention his own vivid personality. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is fascinated with the darker side of Hollywood!

We chose the Dearly Departed tour as something different from the normal " stars" homes tour and it didn't disappoint! Brian the guide was knowledgable and funny! The tour was supposed to last 2.5 hours but went on over 3 as Brian was so enthusiastic about the subject!! Have not stopped talking about the tour since returning home and would definitely go on it again!

This was a team building trip to L.A. for my staff; can't imagine a better time than this! The entire group had a great time, saw plenty of things they'd never seen in L.A., AND had an entertaining tour guide. This group is the best! My third tour with them...and there will be more!

What a great way to spend half a day seeing the sites in the comfort of an air conditioned bus. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and aside from showing us all of the spots where celebrities passed, he also showed us where they lived and played. He had many great stories and details to keep you entertained over the course of the tour. I would highly recommend this for anyone who would like to see LA with a personal guide in a small group! You won't be disappointed!
