Extra Extra - "Boyfriend Doesn't Hate LA"
Sat, Dec 20, 08   1:00 PM RayKampf Male 40-49 Local Couple on a Date
I surprised my boyfriend with the tour, knowing he didn't care for LA in general and doesn't have the 'old-hollywood' gene in his DNGay - so it was a risky gift - but he loved it and so did I. It didn't matter that he didn't know who Polly Bergen, Jack Cassidy or (to my horror) Norma Desmond were (or are), Scott (our Tour Guide) mentioned enough current celebrity calamities on the rout that my boyfriend knew much more then I. The tour is peppered with stars homes and hot spots including George Michael's bathroom which was of particular delight to us. Scott (our Tour Guide) did a great job interacting with the group and I was impressed with his negotiating LA traffic skills while talking about Lindsey Lohan and the Black Dahlia. His audio is a nice touch to this sort of tour - LOVE the 911 calls! The best review would have to have come from my boyfriend who at the end of the tour said, " I don't hate LA so much anymore"

Excellent detailed Info

I would recommend this tour as the ONLY one or even the FIRST one to go on when in the area. He is so knowledgeable and points out more than you would even expect during the entire time. He never rushes and it is so obvious that he thoroughly enjoys what he does. If there has been a newsworthy item in the area that we pass, he will point it out. Steve does not stick to a script. He gives 200%. I highly recommend this tour--you will NOT be disappointed in the least. I plan to take the tour again and well as his other tours...well worth the money than any other tour. Karen

Words cannot describe just how great this tour was. We highly recommend it to everyone who has (or who knows nothing) about this case. Definately worth every cent. We would like to thank Scott for not only doing the tour on the day that we asked for, but for being friendly and giving us an experience that we will never forget. Many thanks. Kim Clayton and Dareda Thompson.

Loved the tour. My family was in town and dying:) to do this tour. I must say, it seemed more informational hollywood than surrounded by death, but I thought that was a good thing. They absolutely loved it. It could maybe have been a tad shorter (perhaps no need for the very last stop), but overall fantastic - Thanks!

great tour!!!!!

enjoyed seeing the history and locations of hollywoods rich and famous. I would like the tour to concentrate on what it wants to be- is it a tour of famous hollywood locales? Is it a tour of famous crime scenes? combination? Even though I enjoyed the historical aspects, I was expecting a recap, ala the first visit (rebecca schaeffer), throughout, yet got a mismash of info, (the set of dw griffith,e.g.) not really complaining, but left me a little wanting. A lttle tweaking will make it a classic!

Great Tour and Awesome Tour Guide!

Just went on the tour last week...it was raining, which made it even better! The tour was great, I thought I knew most of the scandalous LA history, but I learned a lot that I wasn't aware of. Plus Scott throws in extra non crime celeb info, for instance I found out that the school a block behind my apartment building was where they shot parts of Grease!! Scott is very knowledgeable, a lot of fun, and definitely loves what he does. Forget the rest, take the Dearly Departed tour when in LA!!

sis and i are from norcal and decided to do the tour in LA while we were passing through. the tour was good... interesting...however we didn't appreicate rushing to get there on time, only to have to wait for 3 people who showed up 20 min late. also, the tour needs at least one more break from riding in the van... for a snack, water and toilet stop. it's hard to sit in the van that long... the last 45 min seemed extremely long... i was thinking... i need to pee, i need to stretch my legs, i need some fresh air... on the positive side, the guide was excellent... very friendly and entertaining...we enjoyed the info, songs, recordings and picture books. keep up the great work! add another rest stop and the tour would be nearly perfect.

The tour is full of information of so many areas, even areas you may have driven past many times but had no idea certain people had lived/died there. Audio information that was played during the ride complements the places seen, and so does the pictures that are provided so a person can compare what is seen today with what it was like years or decades ago.

GREAT TOUR

My family and I really enjoyed the Dearly Departed Tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The vehicle was comfortable and there was adequate time spent at each location. I would highly recommend to others. Thanks for a great time! Recommendations: The view straight out of the windows was good but the upward view was limited. Possibly a open top or clear roof would be great.
