This spin on the Hollywood Tour showed us all sorts of macabre and other quirky, interesting, sometimes funny Hollywood/Beverly Hills sights. Our tour guide, Brian, was a hoot....very knowledgeable, animated, and entertaining. I would go again in a heartbeat.

I decided to try something other than the hundreds of people on the street trying to suck in everyone that walked by. This tour was great and Brian the tour guide was very energetic and knowledgable and made it a very enjoyable tour. I wish i could have road with him for the Hollywood movie tour.

This tour was possibly the highlight of my visit to LA! I enjoy findadeath.com and taking this tour brought everything to life. I also got a degree in criminal justice and psychology so this was particularly fascinating! Our tour guide Brian made the tour even better! He was the funniest, fun, friendly person! He not only included famous death spots but famous places and some celebrity houses. I can't say enough great things things about this tour! It's amazing how educated Brian is about times, dates, and places! Loved it!!!!

Dark and Entertaining

We really enjoyed this tour. The tour guide seemed to genuinely enjoy his job and talked about the stories / celebrities with passion. In spite of many views of celebrity houses and landmarks that you would get on a 'normal' Hollywood tour, this one definitely explored the darker side so make sure that you are prepared!!

Hysterical Informative tour with Brian
Fri, Jun 10, 11   1:00 PM iammattlevy Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Brian was a hoot and a holler. Clearly a man in love with his job as much as the sound of his own voice, Brian spent the next 4 hours driving us around Hollywood, Beverly Hills and LA showing and telling us all about the famous lives (but mostly deaths) of notable H'wood stars and starlets. Although a good half of the movie makers were golden and silver screen stars that I didnt know, Brian's passion and humor made the tour. As a tour guide in Brooklyn, I understand how important it is to love what you do, and our tour guide's energy and enthusiasm showed through. When one of the ladies on the bus mentioned that she grew up a few blocks over, Brian had no problem veering off route to drive past her former home. It was awesome and it was thanks to Brian. Hooray Dearly Departed Tours!

An Amazing Experience

This tour was everything and more that I expected it to be. Brian, our guide, provided us with so much detail and entertainment. I live locally and had family from out of town visiting. This was a great way to show them the city with lots of the old hollywood history. I will definitely be booking again.

Our family (including adult children) really had a great time. Our guide, Brian, obviously loves his job and his enthusiasm made this tour a lot of fun. For those with children, I would say that this tour is more for adults. We not only got to see lots of location shots along with the actual film clips but we got to see lots of LA and Hollywood which we wouldn't have ordinarily seen -- including some celebrity homes (a bonus!). For film buffs -- or anyone interested in learning about the makings of Hollywood magic -- this is definitely a good tour to check out.

Crazy Fun and Unexpected Awesomeness!

Wanted to do something different for my mom's 60th birthday... started by looking into the cheesy Hollywood tours that take you around and show you the giant bushes and front gates of the stars homes. Too much money for not enough excitement. Somehow I stumbled upon the Dearly Departed Tour description and did my usual investigation and review reading. How could I pass up the opportunity to have someone drive me around Hollywood and adjacent areas pointing out the dark seedy side of all the locations? We booked. And we loved it. Brian is AWESOME!! And so much fun. He is clearly well versed on the creepy happenings of Hollywood and obviously loves what he does. His passion rang true from the minute he started the tour until we arrived back at the drop-off three and a half hours later! Side stories, jokes, FYI tidbit comments tossed in here and there. I couldn't get enough. Mom had a blast - what a great way to spend a 60th birthday - posing for a picture with a Death Hag bumper sticker! Big kudos to Brian for not only keeping us informed, entertained, and involved... but he cleverly and very meticulously navigated Hollywood traffic while doing all of the above. I'm happy if I get a big enough break in the cars to cut in... and I certainly can't talk, point, and laugh while doing it. Brian is the master. I'm trying to recruit some local friends to go with me - I want to go again! We had so much fun the first time... I want to hear it all again... see it all again. And I'm sure each experience is dependent on the passengers each time... so why not go for an all new experience? Don't miss Dearly Departed. Its a blast. And ironically, what makes Hollywood so Hollywood.

This tour was amazing! Brian the tour guide was soooo fun and funny and of course, knowledgeable. He clearly has done his research and is careful to deliver the facts. The owner of Dearly Departed Scott, has put much thought in to designing this tour and it shows. Recordings of 911 calls as well as some narration were helpful in "telling the stories." Let's face it, as humans we're curious by nature and this tour really gave us our fill! From the gate that Michael Jackson's body was taken out from, to the street in front of the Viper Room where River Phoenix collapsed and his brother Joaquin made the 911 call on a pay phone - we almost felt as if we there as these events happened. My 19 year old daughter has wanted to do this tour for several years now and as it ended, she too said it was "even better than I thought it would be!" I'm already telling friends that they should take this tour and best of all, we truly feel that we got our monies worth!!! Take this tour!!

Be sure to go on this tour! I "dragged" my two sceptical friends with me on the tour and by the end they were ravving about how much they loved it!!!

Sunday Tour
Sun, May 29, 11   4:30 PM glenmillerwa Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
The guide was very nice and informed but their were a couple of dbags on the bus talking on their phones, bullying other passengers, encouraging misbehavior by their kids and chanting for a refund at the end. These bad apples spoiled the tour for the others and the driver should have either handled it or booted them. The five of us at the front of the bus would have voted for the latter.
