Dearly Departed Tours

A jam-packed 2 hours of death, scandal and worse. Tour guide was enthusiastic but, not in a wierd sort of a way. Great fun and very informative. Wish that it could have gone on all day. Thanks.

After visiting HOLLYWOOD a number of times and going on all other tours, we found the other tours to be good, But after seeing a show here in AUSTRALIA about the Dearly Departed Tour we decided to do the tour. I am so glad we did, it was the best day for us, being very interested in the history of Hollywood and seeing all the actual sights of the events over the years, it was just great. It's not that gory or disturbing just a good fun day out. The driver RICHARD, was fantastic and boy did he know his stuff. If you need to do a tour, do this one first. Jeff Rice.

A great tour for those who know everything about Helter Skelter because this tour is sure to get you giggling like a school girl (assuming, of course, you are not a school girl already.) But, at the same time, it is great for the people, like me, who know very little about Helter Skelter. Thank You Dearly Departed Tours for giving me nightmares, glorious nightmares. YOU'RE AWSOME!

Not having much of a background on the Manson murders, I was looking for a timeline and facts on what happened. Our guide was great- a great mix of entertaining and factual.

It was fantastic and I am so much more interested in Hollywood history now.

The tour was excellent! Scott our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very professional. I could tell that he did much research on the subject and was always willing to answer our questions. I learned alot on this tour and the tour gave me alot of insight into not only the tragedy that happened but also about the time period of the late 60's, the celebrities of that time, as well as the Manson family and how the family members intertwined with the celebrity culture. I would highly recommend this tour! It not only deals with the Manson & Tate Tragedy but also educates about the culture of LA & Hollywood in the late 60's. I really enjoyed how Scott showed us video clips and played audio clips as we were riding in the tour bus. For those who aren't from Southern California, it is a great tour of LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and surrounding areas and a chance to see LA landmarks. Great Value for the money. You won't be disappointed.

Was a "bucket list" trip that was worth the 3,000 mile flight and 40 year wait.

I live in Rancho Cucamonga and go to L.A. often but have never taken any of the tours because...well those are for tourists, right? Well I am so glad we took this tour, it was great fun and very informative!

The tour had a good amount of death-related and sordid sites, as advertised, which was what we came for. Unexpected was the amount of general celebrity stuff: that's Drew Barrymore's house, that's Jack Benny's house, that's Sylvester Stallone's mom's house...oh, and that black car in the driveway is Sylvester's car, so he's there!, etc. I guess it's unavoidable that as we're driving to the sordid sites, we're in the midst of other celebrities' homes too, so it would have been silly *not* to point some of these out. I think it turned out very well for the less dark-oriented folks in our group. My one suggestion: if you take the tour and plan on taking a lot of pictures, bring a note pad. There were so many sites that were quickly mentioned that we couldn't remember all of the sites. Taking notes will help you label your pictures later. Oh, and this is definitely not for kids. Have fun!

This was by far the best tour I went on in LA. The tour guide was funny, insightful and a great driver. I went on other tour. I thought I was going to die of boredom. Not here! I felt I was learning about the underbelly of LA. A LA Noir tour. Bravo! Please keep up the great work. If anyone interest in the real hollywood. Cancel your Warners Tours and hop aboard here! Bravo! Bravo!

Our tour guide took us on the most incredible ride through Hollywood and surrounding area on the BEST private tour of any location we EVER took on a sight-seeing vacation! We got the info along with the best insider information possible in a comfortable and entertaining ride. A MUST SEE on your visit to LA and Hollywood! We will definitely do this one again!!!

Unlike most of the so called tours of LA, this one is REAL. It shows you the genuine places of things which have happened. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable and went out of the way to make sure everything shown was discussed in as much detail as possible. Take this tour BEFORE any others
