Steve Knows Where All The Bodies Are Buried
Thu, Jan 7  1:00 PM glopackard Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
Our excellent guide, Steve, showed us locals Hollywoodian lore that even we fans of old time Hollywood didn't know. He is extremely knowledgeable about Hollywood history both old and new. You will enjoy your tour very much. We must have visited 50 places and he will even take you to some you ask to see if he has the time. Thank you Steve!

Super Day Seeing & Hearing about Inside Hollywood

This was a very enjoyable tour. The time flew by so quickly even though the tour lasted over 3 hours. The guide was very personable and showed a genuine interest and enthusiasm for his job. He answered every question that was asked. He gave lots of tidbits and then provided how he found out the info to give it relevancy and accuracy. When he found out where some of the interests laid within the group, he customized the tour to give everyone a better idea of who, what, when, where and why. He was particularly knowledgeable about the rock and roll scene. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting LA.

My niece and I had a fantastic time on the tour. We are local born and raised and oftentimes forget that there is plenty to discover right in our own backyard...I loved being able to put a physical picture in my mind of the newsworthy locations we so often read about here in SoCal...BTW...we prefaced our tour with a quick visit to the LA County coroner! Our tour guide, Scott, is extremely knowledgable of the trivia and minutiae involved with the various sites...and has a fantastic sense of humor!!! We're looking forward to doing the Manson one next

Through the Eyes of the Departed

The Dearly Departed Tour is one of the best ways to see Los Angeles -- the good, bad, and ugly -- and probably the most fascinating tour LA has to offer. The 3 1/2 hours fly by quickly, and you're ready for more! You'll have so much more information at your disposal going on this tour than you would driving around LA yourself, and the tour guide (and owner of the company), Scott, is marvelous, funny, and ever so knowledgeable. He is open to any and all questions and is very amicable. This is my second time on the tour, and I plan to go again next time I have out-of-town guests. It's a treat and a look at Los Angeles in a unique way which they'll never forget!

Loved the tour. Our guide was energetic and personable and the total group size was small enough that there was a chance to interact and each could contribute to the fun. We had all ages on our tour and everyone had a good time.

Going into this tour we were very excited hearing all the buzz and hype. My friends and I are if you will "death connoisseurs" and since its the dearly departed tour we were sure to amazed. Once on the over 3 hour tour were were surprised that it soon became a tour of the stars homes as if it were a star maps tour! I really dont care where Billy Bob Thorton, David Schwimmer or Cher live or where Lindsay Lohan crashed her car or where Britney Spears met K-Fed, so on and so on. There are a handful of cool things where actually deaths occoured and stories of the golden age actors and actresses which are wonderful but overall not what it is set out to be. You are better off making a list of all your own murder and death related mysteries google them and make your own adventure. I would highly not recommend this tour if you are looking for the death aspect of it. It seems like it was all just stuff to fill three hours with a few awesome things.

Well done, our tour was a great mix of recent Hollywood event and events, tales of days gone by. What I like about this tour is that it is not a huge group of people, it's small and interactive. I have been on a lot tours around the world including many domestic tours, Dearly Departed Tours does it right, quality at affordable rates. Thank you! Tim D. Washington, D.C.

Our very friendly and amiable tour guide led us nonstop through hours of delightful destinations on our Dearly Departed Tour. We saw where people have lived and where some have died. We learned inside information and saw inside documents on dozens and dozens of Hollywood grand names. All of us loved it!

Fun for adults.

The tour focuses on older Hollywood - 50s through the 80s. Very little was spent on modern Hollywood. I was fine with this, however the children I was with knew about 1 in every 100 reference. So, 3 hours was a little long. They did learn about the Mansons, whom they had never heard. Yay for corruption! The tour could have been shorter, and I felt the guide could have interacted with us a little bit more and gone off script, considering we were the only ones on the bus. That being said, it was a side of Hollywood I knew nothing about, the binder made it extremely interesting, as did the recordings.

Unique Hollywood Experience

I found this tour through findadeath and decided to try it after reading all the great reviews. My husband and I were in Los Angeles this past weekend visiting family. I purchased tickets for my sister and her fiance as well. Even though they live in the area, I thought it would be a great opportunity for them to see the city as they never have before. I think they were a little wary to go on a "death tour" with me, but they both really enjoyed it. It wasn't just dead celebrities and notorious crimes. It was also a great chance to see some amazing homes and historical locations, as well as hear some amazing lore. Scott Michaels was a great guide and really made this tour memorable. Absolutely worth the money, and then some. I'd be interested in taking the Manson or Hollywood Movie Tour when we find ourselves in LA again.

Amazing to see what you've read about

If you've read the book Helter Skelter, seen any of the TV movies or documentaries, followed the case, are a crime buff or just a tourist take this tour. Scott Michaels does an excellent, excellent job of showing you where all the mayhem took place in the summer of 1969. You go up Cielo Drive, up Benedict Canyon. Scott shows you exactly where the killers stopped to wash off after the murders, the exact spot where the garden hose still is today. Then there's the spot where they threw the clothes off the side of the road, plus a TV news clip from 1969 taken at the spot you're at. Then he shows you where the gun was tossed. You will later see the LaBianca house and Scott pretty much takes you step by step what happened that night. I've been doing my own sightseeing of Manson sites in LA since 1981 and I've never seen it like Scott showed it to me. There's so much more. I've driven by Jay Sebring's hair salon location many times not knowing the history there. Highly recommended. Scott knows his stuff, has worked hard to make sure what he shows you in 100 percent fact and he knows the ins and outs of the roads, especially in the hills above LA. I cannot recommend this tour enough. As Dudley Moore said about Bo Derek in the movie "10" - I give it an 11.

We knew the tour was a bit 'off the path' but what a great time it was. Our guide, Brian made it all the better!!! Thanks for a great time. We'll be back other tours.
