Great Way To Learn About Hollywood

Brian is a very entertaining and informative tour guide. He puts lots of energy into his tours and his knowledge is incredible on the local history and architecture. Just be aware that his tours go at least an hour past the scheduled time so plan accordingly.

The Ultimate Manson experience

I would like to thank Scott for having the insight to make a tour for those of us fascinated with this particular case. I found this tour to be very informative and captivating. The tour really helps you re trace the events that happened on that fateful night while providing you with the actual locations and video footage of the events. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Manson and a a look back at unique historical events. Scott was on time and prompt with our pick up and really immersed the group into the tour. I met some nice people on the tour and got to share a unique experience with them. In closing I would definitely take the time to check out this tour and enjoy yourself on a look back at the Manson Family and Old Hollywood

LOVED EVERY MINUTE
Sat, Mar 24, 12   1:00 PM Teresadow Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We traveled from Illinois for our first trip to L.A. I booked this trip in January and I was so happy I did. My husband and 16 year old daughter loved it too. I wouldn't take a younger child then that as it is very graphic in some parts. It wasn't only about the dead and I love how the music and the original 911 calls were worked into the tour. Our guide Brian Donnelly was GREAT and made the trip so fun with all his facts. I took a lot of pictures but now I can't remember what some of them go to what story so if you take them have a really good memory. There is A LOT of history you will see. We would do this tour again in a minute. FUN, FUN,FUN. Thanks again Brian. One last thing be sure to take cash to tip, with the price of gas they could easily tack on more to the price of the ticket. It's worth every penny.

What a good time!

Wow this was a great time. My wife loves this kind of stuff so we had to try it! Our guide, Brian Donnelly, was unbelievably knowledgeable about Hollywood history which made it even better. It got really fun when a gentleman approached the bus and started to talk to the Brian and found out that his apartment was one of the "accident" scenes. He said the that sometimes it sounds like his shower is running at 3:00 AM. Pretty Scary stuff. We look forward to going back and taking some of the other Eeathly Departed tours in the future. Special thanks to Brian for taking us by Jon Hamm's home.

If you are the least bit interested in hearing about and visiting the sites of tragic celebrity fatalities, this tour is a MUST. It was exteremly informative and well put together. In addition to hearing about the dearly departed, the guide also pointed out various other points of interest. Great tour!

Brian, out guide was amazing. He brought the stops to life with his knowledge and his friendly attitude. I would take a tour of absolutely anything he was a part of. I wish we could have seen the big Manson murder site, but over all this tour was still so much fun

Scott's a great guide!
Mon, Feb 27, 12   1:00 PM Merylia Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Absurdly fun, filled with morbid trivia, ghoulish gossip and great company. If you love the dark side and fascinating facts about celebrity murders, Scott's your man. Look up the alley where Sal Mineo's murder took place; see graphic photos of the Black Dahlia's corpse; rubberneck up Madonna's driveway. Two and a half hours of sightseeing fun!

Terrible Tour Guide
Sat, Feb 25, 12   1:00 PM caseyscline Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My friends and I were REALLY looking forward to this tour, since it came highly recommended from another friend, and because we find these types of stories so incredibly intriguing. But from the start of our tour, it was clear we were doomed. Our tour guide was vocal about his ADD and wandering thoughts, and he never stopped talking. Worse than that, he spent 60-80% of the time telling personal stories, and only 30-40% of the time explaining the events the tour was supposed to cover. For example, we pulled up to the El Coyote restaurant and he gabbed about how they're well known for their strong margaritas and terrible food. Then he told us that despite that fact, he's eaten there for the past eight years on August 8. When we prompted him to explain the significance of the date, he told us that that is where Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, and Abigail Folger had their last meal. That was it. He NEVER elaborated, not even bothering to mention Charles Manson's name. Later in the tour, as we passed the hotel where Janis Joplin died, he told us, "This is where Janis Joplin overdosed," then went on to tell us about his 47th birthday, which he celebrated by renting out the same room and marking out with masking tape the position in which the police found her dead body. He did the same with John Belushi's place of death: telling us he wanted to rent out the Chateau bungalow for his 50th birthday. These stories went on for 3.5 hours (one hour longer than the tour advertised) and ended by telling us how much he loves L.A., even saying that if it weren't for his ex-wife in Florida who had "the affair" he would still be living in Florida, so "let's all thank the whore."

The bets tour ever! Our tour guide, Brian, knew anything and everything, not just about those who departed, but those also currently living. He's a walking, talking Hollywood encyclopedia!

This tour was amazing! I have been to Hollywood blvd so many times but to actually be shown and told of the history and tragic deaths of celebrities is so worth the trip. Also, our tour guide was so outgoing and gave us so much information and I would definetly do another tour again!

My husband planned a surprise trip to LA for us for Valentine's weekend 2012. I literally didn't know where we were going until we were boarding the plane. Once I found out, the first...hopefully I don't sound morbid....thing I did was try to buy tickets to Helter Skelter. I was so disappointed when I found out the trip was sold out! Yet, my husband planned ahead and purchased the tickets well in advance. I was so excited about the tour. From the moment we met our guide until the very end, everything was great. He was extremely well-informed about so much involving Manson. The trip involved many places I would never have thought, including old job sites from the victims, etc... In no way did he glamorize Charles Manson or the Family. He paid respects to the victims by giving small background information on each person. The bus was comfortable for a small group of people....it was the perfect size to feel included and feel open to answer questions, etc. We even received a small "gift" at the end of the tour! For anyone who may be even remotely interested in this, I say to definitely do it. My husband had no idea about Charles Manson other than the little bit of info I gave him after reading 'Helter Skelter' and doing my own research. The tour even sparked his interest. Definitely worth the money!!!
