Lots of Fun!!!

Had a great time on this tour. Our guide had a ton of knowledge about the area, old Hollywood in particular. The audio portion (911 recordings, etc) was also really neat, albeit a bit too loud. My chief criticism was that our guide spent a lot of time dropping names, which got kind of tiresome. You are obviously an expert on this topic - you don't need to drop names to lend more credibility to the tour. The detail and thoroughness of the tour speak for themselves. I am highly recommending this tour, but it's not because you know Danny Thomas. Also, I loved everything about the tour, but it wasn't quite as scandal-oriented as I'd expected. For instance, the "House of Davids" was interesting, but seemed out of place. It's a quirky thing to see, but it was basically the equivalent of taking us to see an Angelyne billboard. Finally, the tour starts just a couple of blocks from the Peterson Automotive Museum - why not show us where the Notorious B.I.G. was shot? That's interesting, and still remains unsolved. Overall, though, this was a great experience. I'd like to come back for the Helter Skelter tour.

Excellent and interesting tour

This tour was very interesting and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know about Hollywood history. The tour guide had so much knowledge to share. He kept the interest of everyone in the van, regardless of their age. He was quite humorous also. This was totally appropriate for all ages.

Best Hollywood Tour!

I have long followed Scott Michael's Findadeath site, but his tour brings it all to life. We were met by an enthusiastic Scott in the Dearly Departed tours office. He was friendly and interactive. Brian, our tour guide, arrived just full of energy and excitement. He filled the 2 hour tour with great stops and fun facts and details, not to mention his own vivid personality. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is fascinated with the darker side of Hollywood!

My friend and I did not know what to expect but were completely open for this experience. We have to give some major kudos to our tour guide because we were so impressed by the amount of detail he provides to ensure we understand the intricacies’ of this tragic event. He has video, sound bites, photos and of course you are taken to the majority of the major sites. For anyone considering whether you should take part in this tour, my thought is that you won't be disappointed.

Brian is the best!

Brian was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the tour. I don't know much about the Hollywood Movie scene but he was able to still incorporate me into discussions and didn't allow me to feel left out. It was a great tour and he just went above and beyond what we expected. I highly recommend it!!

Fun tour but a lot of "who is he talking about"

Our tour was definitely enjoyable however much of it seemed lost on our generation. The highlight spots of our tour were where Rihanna was beat up and where George Michael (allegedly) propositioned an officer for sex. Much of the old hollywood info was lost on our group. Many of places and people they referenced were so far out of scope of knowledge that it fell on def ears.

We loved the tour!! It was the best part of our trip. Three hours flew by fast, we weren't ready to get out of the van yet. You can tell that Scott loves his job and knows his facts. We would recommend that anyone visiting L.A or Hollywood to take this tour, its well worth your time.

It was voyeuristically entertaining, but not for kids under around age 12-14.

Enjoyable off beat tour for the Sunday blues

We were looking for an offbeat tour that would appeal to two teenage girls, a mother in law and my wife and I. This tour fits the bill and the tour guide Brian was non stop with the action and information. I lived in Los Angeles all my life and heard about most of the events seen in the tour but to actually visit and get an in depth perspective is truly enlightening. We had fun. My 13 year daughter did get a little disturbed by some of the events but I told her it only happens in Hollywood... sigh.

Dearly Departed...interesting but lacks substance
Fri, Mar 19, 10   1:00 PM MattGordon1 Male 50-59 Local Couple on a Date
While we DID enjoy this tour, I anticipated MORE substance than I felt it delivered. Realistically I think the tour could be accomplished in approx. 2 hours, (and of course the price should be reduced accordingly) if they stayed on subject matter as advertised and avoided the time spent on star homes, and intersections where stars got arrested or wrecked etc. which seemed like a stretch to fill tour time. A quick Google on the internet yielded more detailed information on a number of tragic Hollywood activities than we were exposed to on this tour. The likes of Freddie Prinze, Bob Crane and other notable Hollywood tragedies weren't addressed, although within a reasonable distance to the area we covered. The tourguide wasn't bad, but not terribly engaging either, especially considering the small group of just 8 attendees. His reliance on timing the sound-clips from the iPod seemed to require more of his attention than we received as individuals...again on a small group tour like this, I'm accustomed to a more personal atmosphere. So Am I glad I took this tour? Yes, we've been wanting to do so for a long time. Would I do it again? Probably not, certainly not at the 3.25 hour price-point. Our guide mentioned that the tour was due for a re-vamping, and we agree. By saying so however, he seemed to admit that even the company considers it a little flat. Kudos to the tour company for a creative and unusual tour idea, it just needs refinement and tweaking to make it something really memorable...which it really should and could be!

Lots Of Fun And Information

I so impressed with the guides wealth of information and his ability to dispel the information. It was fun. It was informative and it was something that I am so glad I took part in. I am planning on taking more of the available tour sets because of how much fun this one was. It was worth every penny spent.

I did a tour with your company about 2 - 3 years ago with a group of 4 women. We really loved it and had a wonderful time. That is why when my cousin came to visit me from Louisiana I choose this tour to take her on. We had a wonderful time. Brian was informative and funny and made our day very enjoyable. He had wonderful stories that we really enjoyed. When my sister and her daughters come to visit next year we will definitely all be going on one of your tours. Thanks for a fun day!
