FABULOUS

Loved everything about the tour. Thought it was excellent. Already told people about it and gave information. You should put it on the Orange County Employees' Association so more people in Orange County know about it. It's an association for the employees of Orange County and this is their union. They give discounts to certain events. I think this would be excellent

This is some of the Hollywood and LA you DON'T always hear about. It we interesting, well-researched, documented, and well put together. This is fun for out-of-towners and even locals. It's not the glamour and glitz we're used to, but instead behind the scenes. Fun

Fabulous!

Very interesting. Even though the Tate house has been demolished there are still other sites too see. Scott is extremely knowledgeable about the crimes and the background and aftermath to them, but he invites discussion too. One tip: If you get car sick easily, consider taking a travel sickness pill - a few parts of the tour are on windy canyon roads.

I am from LA and took a couple friends from Rhode Island on this tour. I figured it would be easier than me trying to do a flimsy tour myself. I dont know if I learned more or they did! Places I have passed for 20 years and had NO idea. Scotts knowledge and love for Hollywood was enormously enjoyable, and I have already recommended this tour to locals AND visiting relatives alike. Thanks for all your good work! Leia Nicholson PS: bad points: *Airconditioning /airflow was very bad. It was an exceptionally hot day and was a bit uncomfortable. *tour was a tad too long. *end of tour there was quite a lull. No music no info. just driving and quiet. Need to fill that gap

Highly recommend this tour for both out of towners and locals (like me!). Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and hilarious. I learned so much from him and enjoyed his attempt at a Southern accent.

Scott Miicheals is one of the foremost authorities on Manson facts and trivia. Your day will be filled with information with a rockin soundtrack and video in the background. Don't be afraid to ask him any questions because he will know the answer. No "Gee I don't know's" here"! Please buy the video for the tour also as it contains scenes of Death Valley and Barker Ranch which is to far to travel to and the ranch burned down so its nice to have. Hey I bought a tshirt too! You will have a blast!!!!!

We really enjoyed this tour. (Especially the out of towners. Richard was an awesome guide and added much excitement and life to what otherwise might have been a very bland experience We especially enjoyed the Silverlake and outer lying areas just out of Hollywood and their history. I would very much recommend this tour and when you sign up, ask for RICHARD as your guide.

I really enjoyed this tour, despite getting motion-sickness. The tour, obviously, can be a bit morbid at times, but it is still fascinating! And there was so much to learn on the tour that was not all about death. The only part that was not good for me was that I got really car sick. I sat in the seat behind the driver. I was very grateful for the couple times when we stopped to get out and have a break.

I truly enjoyed this tour. It was great to find a tour that integrated viewing star home but with a dark and intriguing twist. Thank for a positive experience. Laura

The tour was definitely filled with a ton of facts about people and places all over the LA area. They also implemented brand new facts on current events. Overall a great experience! Definitely recommend it for both locals and tourists. Either would learn a lot.

My husband and I were visiting (from Minneapolis, MN) our CA friend and wanted to go on a tour that would show us movie locations. Our friend suggested we go with the same tour company that she had been on for the Dearly Departed Tour. We all had an amazing time; Brian Donnelly was engaging, fun, and genuine from the moment we arrived and I can't imagine there is anyone else as knowledgeable! My favorite part of the tour was seeing the "Murder House" from American Horror Story and how the DVD clips were perfectly timed with our arrival at the locations. Since my knowledge of older movies is somewhat limited, I felt I walked away with a new appreciation for Hollywood's history. The variety of movie locations from different movie genres is also very appealing. We fully intend on getting back to Hollywood and going on another tour, and we enthusiastically recommend anyone visiting or living in LA to go on one through the Dearly Departed Tours. You will be so glad you did!

Our tour guide Brian loves his job and his enthusiasm is contagious. He really knows his stuff, he's fun and up beat, even if the subject matter can be a little dicey. If you're interested in a light-hearted exploration of Hollywood's darker side, you're going to love the time you spend on this tour!

Lots of interesting factoids and sites
Fri, Oct 10, 08   1:00 PM laurieface Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
I especially liked the "before" and "after" photo books that were provided so we could see the various locations as they were then, and compare them to present day -- many had changed very little. Our guide provided a wealth of information and fascinating history -- it was also a great way to view some beautiful Hollywood estates and wonderful older neighborhoods in the LA area.
