Dearly Departed Tours

I and my 19 yr. old son decided to take this tour after talking about some of the interesting 'never-solved' crimes in the LA area. He being much younger than me, was not familiar with all the names and events, but found the tour quite fascinating anyway! And it was not just about the dark things of Hollywood, there were some very interesting facts and history of Hollywood itself. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see some interesting sites and stories of some of the most notorious macabre events in LA. And also those that just want to see the sites and not worry about the traffic! Wonderful tour guide and very comfortable bus. Can't wait to take the "Helter Skelter Tour"!

My wife and I woent on the tour and it was great, just as we hoped. I wondered how a 3 hour drive around hollywood would be entertaining but the tour guide did a great job telling stories and keeping us entertained with his humor. There was never more than 3 minutes where he didnt tell an interesting story. We definately recommend this tour for everyone, it may be a little edgy for little children. There was no children on our tour so it was ok by us.

Great, fun tour with lots and lots of interesting facts about old school hollywood. i didn't know many of the actors/actresses the tour guide was talking about, but it was still very interesting. My only complaint is the tour guide talked soooo fast that I missed a lot of information. Otherwise, great tour and would recommend to anyone!

I could tell the staff really loved their jobs, which had definitely shown through on the tour. Our tour began in a very comfortable, air-conditioned van with big windows. Our tour guide was Brian, and he was not only a wiz at Hollywood trivia, but extremely funny and friendly, with lots of good tips and suggestions for more sight-seeing and fun. It's not a walking tour, you only get to stop once to use the restrooms and stretch your legs. The tour lasts about 2.5 hours, and is fully narrated while driving by, and occassionally stopping for photo ops. If you love Hollywood and all it's history, you'll really enjoy this tour. The time goes by so fast! I would highly recommend this tour and I am looking forward to taking more insightful trips with this company. Enjoy!!!

What separates Dearly Departed tours from other Hollywood tours is not only the locations and stories that are told, but it's the enthusiasm of the tour guides that really make it special. Our guide was such a delight and he had such a passion for the stuff he was showing us. This tour might be seen as morbid by most folks but it's so incredibly fascinating and it's all true! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, tourists and locals alike.

The tour was good and informative. Our view from the back of the van was not as good as those sitting in front.

We had an excellent time on the Dearly Department tour given by our tour guide Richard. He was a great tour guide and answered all of our questions and provided the inside story we were all looking for. Dearly Departed is the tour I recommend for visitors who want to approach Hollywood with the sense of humor and nostalgia. My only complaint was that the air conditioning was too cold. Other than that, A+

Don't miss out on this one when you are in LA. We were lucky as we chose to go the next morning after our arrival. I would highly suggest you doing this as you not only see the sights on the tour, your tour guide will also point out some of the most interesting spots in LA. This really helped us with our travels during the rest of our time there. The tour guide will hand out a notebook with photos and info for certain sites so that you can get a better image of what event they are referring to. The van is as comfortable as can be expected and the tour guides have lots of personality. Some parts of the tour are pre-recorded by Scott as he tells the story of the event, but your tour guide definatley has lots to say. Another treat is that the tour meets at the Farmers Market. Go early and shop and look around this interesting location - we loved it. Highly recommended!

This was a great tour. It was our first time in LA and we opted for this instead of one of the many star home tours. This was for more personal, funnier and just a tiny bit darker. Being movie fans made it all the more interesting - my wife loved the Pretty Woman fire escape! Go and do it!

This was my second time taking this tour with Brian, and I brought a friend for his birthday! I loved it even more the second time around and my friend thought it was sooo cool! We are both So Cal Locals and this tour provides a great look at our city, and gives us cool hollywood history! It is graphic, but this tour wouldnt be what it is, if they sugar coated everything. If you love gore, drama, history, scandal and hollywood then this is the tour for you!! HIGHLY recommend it!!

We had sooo much fun on our Dearly Departed Tour!!! We went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and Brian our guide was soo informative and funny!! He knew so much about the history of Hollywood/Los Angeles in general which made the tour that much more interesting!! I loved listening to all the clips and recordings during the tour, it added so much to the atmosphere! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in the dark side of Hollywoods mysterious history! Loved it!

OMG! I have always wanted to take the Dearly Departed Tour. I have seen it focused on various television shows and was on my list of things to do. Brian Donnelly was our tour guide and his passion for what he does shines through. He mixes humor with facts that gives the tour a special spark. :) I do plan on taking the other tours offered by this company..

Interesting tour with movie clips shown in the van then looking out the window to see the actual building or location. My favorite was seeing the American Horror Story house. So cool.

Take this tour if you have ever wanted to know the who, what, when, where and why surrounding the deadliest years in Hollywood.

Brian Donnelly was the best tour guide ever. Was very educated, but was a true comic. Kept us entertained entire trip...never a dull moment. Have already recommended as a must do to my family & co-workers. Money well spent!
