| We loved this tour, even though it was 100 degrees & traffic was terrible to us. (Well, it is LA, after all!) Richard was a great guide. We highly recommend. | ||||||

| Great tour...Guide was friendly and knowledgable. My 25 year old son enjoyed it as much as I did. A good way to see the Hollywood area in general. This is not a complaint, I understand that the tour has time restrictions and seems to be limited to the Hollywood / Beverly Hills area of LA....BUT...would have liked to have seen the OJ / Nicole sites.....the Wonderland Ave site (went out and found that one on my own)...the Black Dahlia dump site (not just the Hodel house who may or may not have been involved)...former site of the Ambassador Hotel where RFK was assassinated. It would also have been nice to have a photocopy of the tour book. | ||||||

| This is my second time to go on this tour - the first time for my daugher Cindy. It was as good or even better the second time as the first time. When we headed over to meet our guide, I told my daughter that I was hoping Scott would be the guide and luckily it was him, as there is no one better at this than him. I also took the regular Dearly Departed Tour with Scott last year with my daughter Cindy and her husband and again he did an outstanding job of keeping it interesting with multiple little details that other tours just simply don't have - never a dull moment. Scott takes his time, has restroom stops, is patience with all of the group's questions, etc. - again, I can't say enough good things about him and the tour in general - I don't know if anyone knows more about the Manson family and those events of August 1969 than Scott does. This tour also provides the best music from 1969 and truly takes you back to that year. I have been on other tours of the LA area about various subjects, movie star homes, etc. with other tour guides who appear to be completely uninformed when compared to Scott. Scott's tours are by far the very best. I can't say enough about how happy that I am with both of his tours and hope to take his new Hollywood Movie Tour in the next few months and may repeat the Dearly Departed Tour again before too long. My daughter Shelley and I will be going on one of them in November, and my daughter Lisa and I are already looking forward to stopping in LA to take one of his tours next summer when we head up to San Francisco. He's the very best and the tour was positively amazing! | ||||||

| Scott does a fantastic job or recounting the Manson Murders. Not only does he provide a detailed description of the Manson Family Members, but also of the victims. Scott is more than accommodating and very hospitable. I highly recommend this tour anyone who has an interest in Helter Skelter. | ||||||

| The tour was fun and very informative. The tour dude knows EVERYTHING about this case, and he did a great job explaining things along the way, and supplementing the drive with videos and music from the era. | ||||||

| Scott did an exceptional job on the tour and demonstated a deep knowledge of the Manson case. I have a good understanding about the case myself and Scott ably filled in details I didn't know about. Visiting the actual locations of many of the events was somber and enlightening. One gets the sense that you're a detective on the trail of the perpetrators. I can highly recommend the tour. And try and stop at El Coyote Restaurant afterwards. It's nearby and where the Tate party had their last meal. Food there was excellent. | ||||||

| dearly departed was an absolutely fantastic experience. i had a cousin from out of town who is younger then me and she loved the tour as well. i would strongly recommend this for out of towners or locals- Richard was great and really knew what he was talking about - much different then what you would get from star tours where you dont know if they are telling the truth. the price is well worth the opportunity. the only slight draw back is the van is a little tight - but that is a small price to pay for the experience. | ||||||

| As first time visitors to LA and Hollywood, we chanced upon the Dearly Departed tour brochure. It turned out to be a fantastic tour of the city where we got to see a bunch of celebrity homes, great advice on dining places on Sunset Strip, and a great feel for the neighborhoods we travelled through. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging throughout the tour, and gave us a ton of information on the homes and lives of the people. I thoroughly recommend this tour for anyone (though not necessarily with young children). You'll have a great time and come out knowing a lot more about Hollywood and the people who live in it than ever before. | ||||||

| WHat a fantastic time we had on this tour. Scott not only knows the ins and outs of what are considered some of the most tragic events in LA, he is also an avid film buff adding an authenticity and personal aspect to the tour. IT out does any of the other tours we went on. Thanks Scott! I Highly recommend this to anyone who wants more than the usual movies stars homes tour... | ||||||

| Scott does an amazing job recounting Hollywood's sordid side! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the sights and stories of Hollywood's golden era, but he also knows so much about today's current events. His audio recordings and accompanying photographic "look-book" really added to the experience. My only regret is that I was short on time and not able to take a 2nd tour with Scott. Next time I'm in LA, I'm going on the Hollywood locations tour! | ||||||

| I have always wanted to take this tour and it was absolutely one of the most fun and informative tours I have experienced, and we have taken tours from here to Australia. We recently moved to SoCal but were not familiar with LA/Hollywood, and the tour took us places and showed us things we would have never found on our own. True, the tour showed many places associated with tragic/violent events but that was not the main focus and we also saw quite a lot of the area including movie stars' homes, studios, film locations, etc. Scott obviously loves what he is doing and his enthusiasm - and incredible wealth of information, Hollywood lore, and good old fashioned gossip- makes for a high energy, fun filled afternoon. How many Hollywood tours include the tearoom where George Michael got arrested for soliciting - and includes a copy of the police report? We definitely plan to check out other tours with Scott and I would repeat this tour as well. A tip- as the tour starts in the Farmers Market, we got there early, got a good parking place, had a delicious breakfast at Du-Par's, and checked out the market before the tour. | ||||||

| This tour is true to it's title - it does take you on a tour of the "departed". however it also includes other homes, etc of the stars which I liked (the orphanage Marilyn Monroe lived at). Steve, the tour guide, was great. He was enthusasitc but not too much so. Also if you tell him who/what you like he'll make a point of showing you something on the tour regarding this if it's near where you are. For instance I am a huge entourage fan and he pointed out where Jeremy Piven lived since we were driving through that neighboorhood. there is also a short guide book with photographs that accompanies the tour. I thought this added to the experience. | ||||||

| We loved the tour. We heard interesting, historical facts regarding celebrities and notable people. When I got home I did further research and it seems that everything we heard on the tour was verified on the internet. Our guide, Steve M, was knowledgeable and forthcoming; he was friendly and fun and made sure that we were comfortable at all times. There were plenty of rest stops and a chance for refreshments. I enjoyed the visual aids provided to us for use during the tour, the notebook with photos enhanced the experience. We always have family and friends visiting from out of town, I would recommend that they take this tour. I would even take it, again, with them. | ||||||
