I live in the area and took a friend on the sight-seeing trip. I learned so much about my neighborhood that I didn't know. Our guide and driver, Brian, was knowledgeable and funny. It was a hoot!

Having be a resident in Southern California.... for 30 years I thought I knew a lot about celebrities but I was "DEAD" wrong. Would recommend this tour for any age. Fun and informative! John

We arrived early for our 1:00 tour, public parking was $5. Had lunch across the street at Cat and Fiddle, which has a great atmosphere and is supposedly haunted. Didn't see any ghosts. Got to Dearly Departed office with time to explore their mini-museum of oddities. Our van held 13 guests. If you are a large person, be forewarned that the seats are narrow so choose a single rather than a double. Our tour ran over and we arrived back at the office a little after 3:00. Our tour guide talked the entire three plus hours and was so full of information and funny personal stories that I actually took some notes for later reference. We had a short stop at Farmer's Market for a potty break and a quick purchase from a bakery which we gobbled down because they don't like you to eat in the van. Fair enough. All in all, we had a fun day seeing new and different sights in our own big city. Plus, we came home with some good stories.

Really enjoyed the tour! Everyone was friendly, knew their Hollywood history, and even took us by a couple of extra places since the traffic was light that day. The only negative i could say was, the van was very hot inside. And it was a very warm day. But we didn't let that stop us from having a good time!! Thanks!

Fabulous, Fun, and Factual

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the subject mater. There was very little wasted time on the tour. We covered quite a bit of territory on our excursion and the recorded 9-11 calls added another bit of validity to the presentation. We saw a great variety of "scenes of the crimes" or tragic landmarks. The guide showed a general interest at the beginning of the tour to find out everyone was from. I was glad the tour had only 12 people. It was an intimate setting. I also have to applaud the tour guide for being able to talk and drive his vehicle with such finesse and ease.. (The traffic at that time of the day was bad.) I appreciated the restroom stop at the Farmer's Market as well. I would definitely recommend this tour to any of my friends.

Dearly lacking

We took this tour because we were told by friends that it was a fun time with lots of laughs. Unfortunately, it was lacking in both. The tour itself was well-organized and filled with enough TMZ-type fodder to satisfy anyone's dark side. However, it was presented by someone who was not entertaining. Pleasant, likable, and nice - yes. But this tour needed someone who was dearly dark and funny and could elicit yucks. That said, I'd still recommend Dearly Departed. They have several tours and enough positive reviews for me to tell people to give it a shot.

My sister and I really enjoyed the tour. Brian was incredible -- a walking encyclopedia of trivia and movie/star knowledge. He was a lot of fun and we were thoroughly entertained.

My son planned this for a mothers day celebration.

It was one of the best and out of the norm Mothers Day I have had in 30 years. I would highly recommend this day of adventure for all. My son planned the entire outing and I could not think of any other way I would have rather spent it. I was raised in San Marino and never took the "Hollywood Tours"....what I missed in all these years. Richard and Jane were the best hosts....definately a must to come back. I have taught Jazzercise (yes it is still around) for 38 years and I announced to my class of 50 plus the fabulous time we had. There was so much information packed into the 3 hours I could not remember half of what we experienced. I just know and will always remember what an experience we had. Thank you.... still talking about it. Karen and her son Cristian. San Juan Capistrano, CA home of the Swallows.( the birds of love)
