This Tour was Fantastic!

We couldn't have asked for a more knowledgable and enthusiastic tour guide. I reviewed several other tour companies with very mixed reviews on their tour guides. Brian is the best of the best so we highly recommend Dearly Departed Tours and would go again when we have out of town guests in the future.

We had a great time.... interesting, funny and a great break from routine tours. Add it to trip to the death museaum and you have a great deadly day....

Political commentary was unnecessary and offensive

Driver kept referring to pro-homosexual matters, bad mouthed the Boy Scouts, made other potical comments. Why do liberals always want to to offend? Keep your views to yourself when I am paying for the service.

Our tour guide, Brian, was extremely knowledgeable and informative, and kept us laughing most of the time as well. It was great fun and we're telling all our friends about the tour. Recommended for "creepy" fun!

A diamond in the rough!

A nicely planned tour. The highlight, however, is the enthusiasm and knowledge of the host (Brian). It is exhilarating to see someone so passionate about his adopted home, especially since LA comes under so much criticism these days.

LOVED IT

I did a tour with your company about 2 - 3 years ago with a group of 4 women. We really loved it and had a wonderful time. That is why when my cousin came to visit me from Louisiana I choose this tour to take her on. We had a wonderful time. Brian was informative and funny and made our day very enjoyable. He had wonderful stories that we really enjoyed. When my sister and her daughters come to visit next year we will definitely all be going on one of your tours. Thanks for a fun day!

I recommend taking the tour!

My wife and I took the tour with our adult children and loved it. It was fortunate for us that we had the bus to ourselves. Richard, our tour guide, was knowledgeable of Hollywood lore and was entertaining to boot. He answered my questions and gave us personalized service. The tour itself is much better than strictly seeing where the Stars live. We were given factual information about the crime scenes that was not given to the general public. When I saw the article about Dearly Departed Tours in Rue Morgue Magazine, I knew I had to experience it myself. All four of us rated the Tour as a must see.

It was a super tour with a truly outstanding tour guide who knew his subject totally, was entertaining, was accommodating, and seemed to enjoy all the questions asked of him.

Great way to spend a beautiful LA afternoon

Really enjoyed my 3-hr tour. Loved going thru Los Felix and Hancock Park, Holmby Hills. Only disappointment was that we didn't visit the site of Sharon Tate murders - even though the house has been torn down/rebuilt. The only thing I would recommend is a different kind of vehicle. It's a cute idea, but too cramped inside, so taking photos really difficult. Something with more window area would be great. I didn't even attempt photos because I wasn't next to the window and didn't feel like asking the window seat person to roll down window every time. I particularly liked the ideas of your specialized tours - just might take that Manson tour next time. One other thing - I wanted to give driver a tip but it was an awkward scene upon leaving. I wanted to give $5, but only had $10, and was too embarased to hold up line asking for change for a tip. DIdn't really know what to do. Cheers.

Richard was a fantastic tour guide. Always easy to understand, and with a wealth of knowledge about the places we visited. I was also impressed with what a safe driver he was. Can't be easy to maneuver a van through those streets, but he was great. Wouldn't have any reservation about booking one of your tours in the future!

A fantastic day with family and friends.

Our group has been on a couple tours and we have decided this was one of the most enjoyable, informative tours we have been on and it's all because of Scott. Our tour guide made our day. He made each stop interesting and made it so we couldn't wait until the next stop to see what he had in store for us. We would go on any tour Scott would be giving, because we feel he would make it interesting and very informative. He is very professional, polite and you can see he read up on these different sights and keeps up on them so not only do you get the past, that some of us older people are interested in but also the current events that the younger people are interested in, so he definately held our interest through out the tour. Like we said he is truly one of the best tour guides we have had. Beverly, Riverside, Ca.

Very nice 3 hour tour

Was picked up on time at Farmers Market. There were 3 couples and 3 additional guys. Our tourguide / driver Richard was quite entertaining and the audio tapes further enhanced the scenes we visited. We were lucky to see an outside taping of 90210 in the Beverly Hills park made famous by George Michaels. This was an additional treat. The tour was quite intensive, however, I would have liked to see less of the 'Dearly' and more of the 'Departed'. While we did see the Labianca home, I would have liked to have seen the Sharon Tate home as well, the O.J.Simpson / Nicole Brown saga locations. All in all I would recommend this tour and guide / driver to anyone who would like to spend a few hours on something out of the ordinary Hollywood star home tours. As a side note, there is a wonderful Italian restaurant next to the pickup / dropoff location called Maggiano's. Come hungry.

Unique theme for Hollywood area

Richard was a great tour guide. Having been in TV and film prior to becoming a tour guide adds a perspective to the tour. We feel this tour covers an entirely different aspect than a standard tour. The dearly departed are in fact that--from Mae West to Marilyn Monroe and Joe D. Also saw where Michael Jackson died so the tour is current. Do this tour before all others. Would do another DDT when we return.

My husband and I along with our daughter and her husband really enjoyed the Dearly Departed Tour. Scott was very knowledgeable and he made the tour very interesting. He went out of his way to make us comfortable on an extremely hot day. We highly recommend this tour and hope in the future to take his others. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to LA.
