I am a Los Angeles local & I needed something to do with an out of town guest. The Dearly Departed Tour certainly filled the bill on all levels. I was totally entertained the entire time. Our tour guide was wonderful & was full of all kind of interesting stories & facts. The tour was fun from the time of checking in at the office - make sure you tour the "museum" there until the very end. I would highly recommend it to all!

Scott is a fabulous guide.... informative, knowledgeable, and knows how to present the ironic elements of the case. If you are a student of the Manson family and its murderous ways, you HAVE to take this tour. The tour was 3 1/2 engrossing hours, and I could've gone for another 3 1/2!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome!!

I love the bits of information our driver shared with us, and I will be returning in the future for another dose.

My friend was visiting from out of town and insisted on taking this tour- I'm glad she did. We had great discussions on the topic afterwards. Odd how this gruesome event can still stir up emotions from such a long time ago.

Highly recommended. Scott did a great job of providing tons of info and got us as lose as possible to the homes. Not ghoulish or overdone. Best tour of our 2-week vacation.

This tour was great, and I highly recommend it for tourists and locals alike. History comes alive in a really fun way. As a bonus, you see a lot of different neighborhoods, plenty of celebrity homes and some great architecture.

The Helter Skelter tour was amazing!! Scott Michael's knowledge of the events surrounding the case are endless! Combine that with his engaging personality and you have an entertaining as well as informative tour!! There is music of the era as well as photos and video clips used during the tour. Scott also points out along the way interesting facts and locations that are part of LA history. I would not recommend this for young children. If you have not purchased Scott's DVD Six Degrees of Helter Skelter please do!!! It is fascinating and ends with a visit to Barker Ranch in Death Valley where Manson was arrested for the murders. It is a must see!! Thank you Scott and staff for a wonderful tour!!!!!!

The guide was enthusiastic and entertaining, added scandals along with notable deaths. The folks at the museam storefront were helpful and really know their stuff. If I had been in Hollywood longer, I would have also gone on the Marilyn specific tour.

This tour is amazing! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a little morbidly curious like me and my friends are. They take you to some really cool places and the tour was very informative. I learned a lot and had a good time. The tour guide was hilarious and made the trip even more enjoyable. I'll be back to take the Helter Skelter tour in the future!

I was really interested in this tour since I love everything involving crime scene / investigations / crazy deaths. Weird, I know! I expected more. Since we don't get off the tour and just drive by and park near these types of sites, it would be great to have more effects. Example: When going by the corner where Willliam Frawley collapsed and his nurse took him into the Knickerbocker hotel and William Frawley breathed his last under the multi million dollar chandelier - it would be great to have a quote from his most popular character (Fred Mertz on I Love Lucy) something like the I love lucy theme song and fred mertz saying "Hey, you can go now. " . And then maybe on the TV or in the binder they give you, have a copy of the Obituary Desi Arnaz had printed for William Frawley. The driver was ANNOYING. YES he loves his job (or so he says). Every now and then we heard "I like happy stuff, this is sad stuff (referring to the stories and locations of death)".... there is a reason I paid for this tour and it wasn't to see the happy stuff. We randomly started driving down lanes to see celebrity homes. Again, that's not what I paid for. I have no interest in seeing where some celebrity named Paula lives and you know she's home when you see paparazzi lined up in her front yard - I don't care because that's not what I came here to see. Based on the description of the tour provided on the website, I expected more backstories. I didn't learn anything I didn't learn online already. I learned more from the recording of the owner that the driver played than the driver himself. The driver was ALL OVER THE PLACE in his explanation and would get distracted very easily. I expected more stories about what a certain person was doing before they died and anything interesting happen after they died. Where they went before they reached their murder location. Who murdered them and why they were murdered. Images of the crime scene if they have it. Famous quote or description of who the person was in case some people don't know a certain celebrity since many of these were famous decades ago. At some point during the tour the driver said "he's in the mood" and only does this "once every few months" and decided to take us on a tour of the houses especially his favorite ones - really this is not what I came on this tour for. So after a while I zoned him out and was just admiring all the houses.

Very good tour and the tour guide was so knowledgable and fun! Wish there would have been more people signed up for the the Hollywood Movie Tour. Bet that would have been good too.
