This is a must for anyone with friends visiting Los Angeles. You can show them all the fun sites without having to drive them around yourself. Scott is awesome as a tour guide. He really knows his stuff. The three hours will just FLY BY! Loved it!

The tour held both our interests for the entire time, making it seem as though it wasn't three hours at all. We saw infamous scenes in person that we only read about or viewed on TV. The Dearly Departed Tour was truly an amazing tour!

My mother (71) and I attended this tour for a second time, although we enjoyed it thoroughly, we were slightly disappointed that it lacked the humor and campiness of original tour we took in the early 90s. The tour is fascinating and the tour guide, Scott is an endless wealth of knowledge...Scott really knows how to keep his passengers engrossed.

Inside Info on Hollywood Heartache

Interesting tour of the grimmer side of Hollywood, at times sad, but at other times amusing. The guide, Scott, is very knowledgeable of Hollywood history, and he provides a lot of detailed information, but wasn't very personable or friendly, and even treated some questions as annoying. I think he might be a little bit bored doing this day after day. Nevertheless, I would recommend this tour of Hollywood, that is, to those who are interested in the grimmer side of glamorous Hollywood.

Dearly Departed and More

My husband, my 14 year old daughter and I went on the Dearly Departed Tour and all of us enjoyed it. The name suggests the subject of most of the tour but along with the names and places of many tragic events, participants also see other interesting places and learn many interesting things about the area that the tour encompasses. The guide is very approachable and friendly and really seems to love what he does.

This tour exceeded our expectations by being so much more than just a tour of "haunted" sites. We got to see stars' homes, crime scenes, and obscure things, like the bushes Ms. Lohan ran into on one of her drunken excursions. Scott was an awesome tour guide and is a true fountain of knowledge. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. Keep up the good work.

I was so happy with everything... we were running late and I called - the tour guide waited for us and let me grab some water before we left. I went to work and told everyone about it and totally reccommended it! Ive lived locally all of my life and never got the view of hollywood like that! I really hope that there are more tours like that in the works! thanks again

Scott our guide was outstanding. Obviously extremely knowledgeable and subjects well researched. Personable and friendly. Nice enough to do the tour with only 3 passengers. Would have understood a cancellation given the price of gas. 95% of the tour is riding in the van listening to Scott's well done narrative with sound clips. My personal preference would be to hit fewer spots and get out of the van more often to soak up the history on site. Not real practical in LA however. Only one stop out of the van for a "hands on" experience--take the tour and you'll get the pun. So many points of interest on the tour go by so fast that it starts to become a blur. All the sights on the tour were things you could see if you did a little homework and drove around on your own. The only suggestion would be to try to negotiate access to a few places the general public ordinarily cannot go-that would increase the interest level and be worth any extra tour cost.

Dearly Departed Tours is an absorbing 3.5 hour trek through Hollywood's past and present, focusing on the the more lurid aspects of celebrity deaths, murders, suicides, and scandals. Tour guide Scott is an engaging host who really knows his stuff. From the Black Dahlia murder to the Manson family grisliness, he provides pointed insight and detail while showing you the infamous sights around town. From Bela Lugosi to Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. From Howard Hughes to Hugh Grant's hooker! From Eddie Murphy's tranny to the actual bathroom where George Michael was busted! Not all of it is gruesome and salacious. Any fan of music and movies will be intrigued by this tour which cruises down Sunset Strip and points out historic rock and music trivia. From Janis and Jim to the Ramones, it's all here. Highly recommended!!

Scott has organised the tour very well so that you see 3 murder sites and other places of interest connected to the Manson killings. The tour was very interesting and educational and in no way seeks to glamorise the murderers

kinda interesting, but overpriced.

i found the tour to be a little too long for the amount of information/sites there were to see. i also think it was too pricey, i would value it at $25, 1/2 of what it cost. seeing the houses of the LaBianca's and the site where Sharon Tate's house was were the highlights, but driving down through the canyon to see the front of the house where a gun was found seemed like a time waster and a filler. seeing it from the road gave you the point enough. too many of these made you want the tour to end. i would have liked more information, audio, or something on Manson himself. i did find the driver very informed on Hollywood history. if your a big Manson fanatic, go for it. if you have mild to moderate interest, find the addresses of the two locations and take yourself.
