The departed and much much more.

Brian knows L.A. and its history and obviously works hard to be good at his job. He is! He delivers a tour that's not just about the departed, but includes a lot of other fascinating L.A. information. I'm recommending this tour to all my friends who go to L.A. I've been going to L.A. for years and finally decided to do a tour. I couldn't have picked a better one. Thanks for a great time!

Highly recommend this tour for both out of towners and locals (like me!). Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and hilarious. I learned so much from him and enjoyed his attempt at a Southern accent.

Awesome tour. Got a lot of information. The only thing I wish was if we could get out of the car and take photos. He has an awesome museum back at the shop so thats definitely worth checking out. Really weird to be right in front of all these famous sites. Its really cool to see the houses now and think back to the photos taken back in 69.' Glad they have a tour like this. Definetely recommend it.

Helter Skelter Tour

I took the Tragic History tour from DD last year and really enjoyed it. I was hoping that the Helter Skelter tour would be as good. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this tour for anyone who has just a casual interest in the topic. The tour guide is knowledgeable and obviously passionate about this subject but some of the sites pointed out are just inconsequential (or irrelevant) to the overall story. The tour is long, around 4 hours, and in my opinion should be cut down to a more manageable time. If you have read everything about the Manson family and are really interested in seeing everything then this is the tour for you. If you are just a little curious, take the other tour - it's way more interesting.

This was a fun and interesting tour. The tour guide was entertaining and well informed. The only part that disappointed me was that we didn't get to see the Tate-LaBianca houses.

This tour met all my expectations, Brian the tour leader was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to him tell us all he knew about the scandulous history of Hollywood. I would recommend this tour to people who love old Hollywood or to someone who just wants to do something a bit more unique than the usual run of the mill tour.

Not Worth the Money

I really don't recommend this in any way. 40$ is too, TOO much for a simple bus tour. And the fact that 10 minutes into it they are already advertising for other tours is offensive. The tour guide was very sweet, and I liked the pictures included in the tour's booklet, but as a whole I left feeling like a wasted my money and afternoon.

Pretty Good, not fantastic

Although I generally enjoyed this tour, I felt it wasn't *quite* as morbid as I had hoped. It was neat that they showed us Rebecca Schaeffer's apartment, the street where they filmed Halloween, and that they discussed the Black Dahlia. But there was a lot of the more tedious, modern celebrity stuff I didn't care about--the site where Rihanna was beaten up by Chris Brown, for example--that I wish was less focused on. We stayed mostly in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, so I felt it was sort of limited in scope. It would've been cool if they delved into the OJ Simpson case (that was Brentwood, no?) or the Manson Murders (which they only mentioned when we passed the El Coyote Cafe). I would've liked to have seen Sharon Tate's house, but I understand they only visit it on a separate tour. Overall, not a bad way to spend an afternoon, and if you're interested in the morbid side of Hollywood history, you are sure to enjoy it to an extent. Our tour guide (I think his name was Richard) was funny.

An Afternoon with Hollywood's Dearly Departed

When you live in L.A. for many years, as I have, you tend to go around the places you live and work, so it was fun to see a part of town I don't go to that often. My brother and his friend, a long-time follower of findadeath.com, were visiting from NY/NJ and wanted a Hollywood tour. Our guide Brian Donnelly was entertaining and knowledgable about Hollywood's violent deaths old and new, from the Black Dahlia to Ronnie Chasen. And, heck, we even had a sighting of Jesus at the George Michael bathroom. What more would you want from the dearly departed?

The Dearly Departed tour was one of the best tours I've ever been on. Make sure to request Brian as a tour guide. He was fantastic! Brian was funny, engaging, and informative. The man really knows his stuff! If you are visiting the area or even a LA local, check out this tour. You won't be disappointed.
