Whale Watching in Blue Whale Season (May - Nov)

We enjoyed the tour very much. I agree with previous reviews that the staff are not friendly, nor particularly helpful. The boat driver was, however, quite indulgent in sticking with a whale. We were about 9 miles from shore and pressing the time deadline. For those concerned if it is too "scary" or concerned about the water, I say DO IT. I loved it and am not a huge water fan.

Although the excursion was supposed to only be 2 hours, I really appreciate the fact that the staff decided to stay out on the water over and beyond the time allotted to make sure we got a great glimpse of the whale that was spotted. We ended up being out on the water and extra 40+ minutes. My thanks goes out to Dana Whart Whale Watching for doing everything they can to ensure all their guests had a great "whale watching" experience. They truly went the extra mile. Many thanks.

We had a great time and were able to see up close and personal 100's of Dolphins. We also were able to see 3 blue whale although not as close as we would have hoped.

Saw many whales and the cruise is well worth your time.

My daughter and I enjoyed a late afternoon on the Dana Pride (great boat, plenty of room). The captain spotted a Fin Whale even before we exited the harbor. We watched this whale as it made repeated dives after what the captaint described as a massive school of krill about 300 feet below. The water was 70 degrees and amazing green-purple color (wish I had my fishing pole). After hour and a half of admiring the whale, the captain turned the boat toward a school of 'common' dolphins. My daughter and I love the common dolphins. They are the smallest of the dolphin species but we think they are the prettiest. There were plenty of room at the front of the boat and we enjoyed watching the dolphins as they took turns 'riding' the wave in the front of the boat. In fact, one of the dolphin turned over to take a better look at us. What an amazing trip. This was the second time we took this trip and we will definitely be back again.

The whole day was amazing, a good size boat with little rocking with the waves. We spotted a Fin back whale with in the first two minutes, and group of dolphins that played very close to the close for a good amount of time and made for some great pictures.

We went on the evening cruise between 5 and 7 PM - there had been whale sitings reported throughout the day, so we were taken out to an area where they had been feeding. We followed the activity of one whale for much of our trip until the whale's surfacings became too erratic. Noting that it was most the likely the end of a feeding cycle for "our whale", the captain quickly changed course to view another whale in the area. The crew was helpful and provided informative commentary about the whales and their feeding and migration patterns. And the sightings were breathtaking and worth the wait. We enjoyed our trip and would recommend it to anyone who is willing to be flexible, as there is no guarantee that you will get to see the whales during your trip.

My husband and I took this cruise for our 3rd wedding anniversary. It was absolutely amazing! I know a lot of it is circumstancial, but we saw 2 blue whales on our trip!!!!! One of them was almost right next to boat. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The crew was also very nice and informative and we learned a lot about the whales. It was also nice that the crew was very strict about some small children that were being loud and obnoxious. They quieted them down so everyone else could enjoy the trip. It was much appreciated :)

The evening we went whale watching was perfect.. calm sea's, warm weather, boat not crowded.. so it was an enjoyable outing for us and my brother and his family visiting from the East Coast. I will say the captain and crew knew where to look and we hung out with the fin whale that was around....saw a pod of dolphins WAY OUT in the distance which were closer to shore and on the way back in - stopped to visit a couple of sea lions hanging out on the buoy. Pretty much that was it... If I did it again, I would definitely do it on 1/2 price Tuesday or wait until Whale Season Migration. The boat was clean, but I don't think the experience was above and beyond, captain and crew had very little interaction with the passengers but didn't hesitate to direct passengers to the tip jar at the end of the 2 hours.

Although we did not see any whales, we saw dolphins and other marine wildlife. The crew were very courteous and enthusiastic. I would recommend this tour with friends and family.
