The staff is friendly and the boat crew were very knowledgable of the area. On our trip out, we were put in the middle of a pod of approximately 500 common bottlenose dolphin and got some great photos. No blue whales, but if you go out expecting to see a blue whale, I think you are setting yourself up for a disappointment. It's a great time, go out and expect to at least see some dolphins and other sea life.

Great boat ride, nice crew but no whales!

The crew was nice and knowledgable. They tried really hard to find whales but no luck. We did get to see several dolphins, some sea lions and a giant sun fish so the trip wasn't a total bust. The boat was clean and it was great to get out on the Pacific. Our tour was on July 5th at 5:00...we froze our butts off. I would recommend wearing a heavy jacket and long pants.

Our trip was July 2nd 5-7 PM. We saw 3 blue whales (one as close as 100 feet away) and large school of dolphins (100-200). The crew was top notch and overall a great experience.

Lots of dolphins...warm weather...informative. I'm a fisherman and have witnessed dolphin in the wild many times. But in this situation, spending time in the middle of the pod and watching them close up was fantastic and very relaxing.

Our family of 15 enjoyed the trip. (Ages 10 to 70) We saw no whales unfortunateley but several dolphins. the crew was very nice.

Good for 1/2 price...

We went on a Tuesday night for half price, and I don't think it was worth more than that. The boat is basically a large fishing boat with not much room and few places to sit. We ended up climbing on top of one of the bait boxes and sitting there, which was okay for the short amount of time. We did see dolphins and a few sea lions, and they were amazing, but no whales and no coupons off our next visit (because we were already discounted?). As long as expectations are properly set, this is a fine activitiy.

We saw whales! It was obvious our captain was knowledgeable and interested - did much more than just "drive the boat" . You can never be guaranteed a sighting - but regardless you will learn quite a bit

We were nervous at first, Dana Point was one of the cheapest charters in the area. The experiance was definitly more than we expected. Thanks to a great crew and the help and attitude they gave. When we return I won't even bother looking for another deal, I'm headed for Dana Point!
