We were nervous at first, Dana Point was one of the cheapest charters in the area. The experiance was definitly more than we expected. Thanks to a great crew and the help and attitude they gave. When we return I won't even bother looking for another deal, I'm headed for Dana Point!

Our experience was great!! We saw many dolphins, although we would have loved to have seen some whales. But this is something my kids and I will never forget.

Mostly great trip

We saw at least five blue whales and a pod of long-beaked common dolphin. We even had more than one blue come right up to the bow. For some reason, with about forty minutes left in the trip, the captain decided to leave the whales and slowly make his way all the way to the buoy off the headland to see the sea lions. For this reason, we missed seeing a fin whale cow-calf pair. Why he did that when we had plenty of whales around us is beyond me. Otherwise a very good trip.

Whale of a time!

Really enjoyed the trip. Saw a large school of dolphin before we saw the blue whales. The crew did a great job of "chasing" the whale spouts, so we could get some great pictures of the whales. My only recommendation is to down sweep the speakers, as they were very hard to hear! Overall though, great trip, thanks.

Nice Adventure

This was a great outing for my granddaughter and her cousin. It was the second whale watch trip we took that week while staying at our timeshare in Capistrano Beach. Though we didn't see whales, we enjoyed a lively show by the dolphins...so much so the trip was extended by 20 minutes. Because the Clemente is a small boat, I wouldn't recommend this for the little ones. They'll have to stand the whole time and the ride is quite a thrill...like a mini roller coaster. The larger boat with the seating inside and on top of the deck, would be recommended for smaller children. I would do it again and I would recommend it to family and friends.

Great sunset cruise

We saw one blue whale...way, way in the distance, and the crew tried really hard to "catch it" before it made a dive, but didn't succeed. We had a wonderful run with a huge pod of dolphins though...a great experience. The crew was very jovial and accommodating. I would recommend, even if you don't see a whale!!
