Can't believe how much wildlife we saw; the dolphins were amazing and to see 4 different kinds of whales SO close to our boat was awesome. It was a perfect was to spend a gorgeous afternoon.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whale watch. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather, smooth seas and multiple viewings of wild life (20+ whales, sea lions and a large pod of dolphins). Probably conditions are not always as favorable as we experienced. The boat was comfortable and the crew was very accommodating.

It was an awesome day out on the water, lots of dolphins at first then we spotted several fin whales. Then the big blue whale showed up and was playing all around the boat along with a seal lion. Great fun was had by all!

A good watch with unsual feeding behavior

This the first time I have observed surface feeding behavior with the blue whale. The whale displayed its ventral pleats usually with one pectoral fin up and half of its fluke out of water . The blue whale we observed did this repeatedly as the krill must have been near the surface which attracted the attention of the birds and the dolphins. This was an exceptional whale watch.

Smooth ride, plus lots of animals!

We were warned that at season end, there might not be whales; and, although we did not see blue whales, we found 2 small minkies which was fantastic. Also there were many herds of dolphins who swam up close/under our boat and demonstrated their perfect synchronized leaping, including mothers and babies. I had been out of Dana Point 2 other times on regular vessels (ie Dana Pride), but this catamaran trip is superior with less people and a smoother ride. You can talk with the crew, see more and it's worth the extra $10 per ticket.

Bad weather and fog
Mon, Oct 17, 11   12:00 PM DebraKmak Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
It is hard to give any kind of a review since the fog and the weather didn't allow us to see any whales. At least we were able to see some dolphins and sea lions which helped. The cruise lines can't be blamed for the weather.
