What a great boat ride!

Our family enjoyed this boat ride very much. It gave us the opportunity to go out on the Pacific Ocean in a relaxing catamaran with someone else in charge at the helm. Although we did not see much of the two whales in the area and no dolphins at all on the day that we went, we still enjoyed the scenic ride even though the windy weather made for a little bumpy ride on the way out. Heading back to shore we got up close to sea lions hanging around on a buoy.

The great whale and dolphin adventure

Crew was great, the tour was also very educational. 7 blue whales and 100s of dolphins says it all. The crew know there jobs because it showed during the tour. Some above and beyound things that happen is a crew member came around and offer all the guest to take a picture of the guest with their own camera. Also, I lost my hat in the wind and another boat picked it up and the crew took the time to get the hat from them. I will be rating this tour very high review on Travel advisor. Thanks for the great experience. Jon and Anna

We went out as a family our last full day in California to try and see the whales. It was my wife and my 8 year old daughter. We had been out there for 11 days and seeing the majestic blue whales was the highlight of our entire vacation. I cannot recommend highly enough taking the time and spending the money to see those animals. The boat itself was very stable, and the Captain and the crewman both were very helpful and knowledgable. We got the pleasure of seeing 3 blue whales, and a group of dolphins. It was a fantastic experience.

don't waste your money

We did not see one whale on this trip, and very little information or narration was given by the crew. Your money would be better spent buying tickets to Sea World.

Wonderful experience...amazing whale sightings!

We decided to try out this trip based on the high number of recent whale sightings and the good reveiws. We had an AWESOME time! The captian was wonderful and even took us out looking for a pod of Orca's that had recently been sighted. We were able to find them and saw them blow their spouts but they never resurfaced. That was ok though because we headed back in and were able to see the most wonderful Blue Whales. We sat for a long time and watched a pair of them surface, dive down and surface again. They were so close to the boat you could almost touch them! My son is visually impaired and can't see things at a distance but was so excited that he could see the whales. It was a really neat experience and something I would definitely recommend! We plan to go again :)

We didn't see any whales but lots of dolfins playing with the boat. The crew was great lots of information given and spent their time really looking for the whales and made sure we got to see the dolfins up close. We also saw sealions. My daughters really enjoyed it even though it was a bit cool (weather).

Blown away by the experience

First, the crew was friendly, conversational, and knowledgable. We left the harbor and they explained the process they would go through to find whales. On three different occasions we ran in to dolphins but the whales. First we saw and followed a blue whale. While waiting for the blue whale to surface a minke whale crossed our bow. After numerous close sitings of the blue whale we headed in only to cross paths with either a large minke whale (or more likley a fin whale). What a day - we may have been lucky that day but the crew added to the experience - I highly recommend it.

Friendly staff and well run boat

We had a good time and I would recommend this trip. The staff on board are very friendly. The guide was very enthusiastic and clearly enjoys her job. We saw a lot of dolphins up close and some other assorted marine and aviary life. A few glimpses of grey whales from a distance, but the crew tried hard, it just wasn't our day I suppose. Mostly an older crowd on our trip; it was low key and not crowded. The boat is clean and in good condition. Its only 10 minutes from the St. Regis Monarch Beach Hotel where we stayed. I would go again. The staff at the check-in desk at the Dana Wharf store are less friendly. Parking in the Dana Wharf lot is also tight, so give yourself extra time to find a place to park.

A wonderful day with the Very Best Boat and Crew

Ive been whale watching for years with my young children, in Dana Point and Monterey California and the Catamaran along with her Crew was the VERY BEST we have ever experienced.. Although the Whales did not show on our trip, weve never experienced a better day on the water. The boat is very stable ,quiet and truely low emmission in regards to her engines. It makes for a pleasent day regardless of the show. It was our first time on the Catamaran and I will choose no other Boat again for Whale Watching or Coastal Cruise, " Its simply the Best boat and crew " Thanks For A Great Day and Wonderful Memories with My 3 Children, Michael S,

Even though we know late July is not an ideal whale watching time of the year, but we thought a nice day out on the water would be nice. Our captain went out of his way looking for whales and with his electronic fish finder or sonar he eventually found one. He also found a very entertaining pod of dolphins and they made the trip worthwhile so the whale was actually a bonus. We will do this again at a more appropriate time of year for whale migration.
