Catamaran Adventure Whale Watching Cruises

Nice, short trip, just enough for small kids, especially if there are not many whales to find. A little expensive for what you get, however. Coupons don't save much.

We had friends that wanted to see dolphins and we did so! No whales this trip but maybe next time,.

Being from San Diego, we're used to the idea that Southern Cal whale watching was limited to grey whale migration, so were pleasantly surprised to learn of the blue whales off Dana Point in the summer. The price is reasonable for a two hour ride, the crew knowledgable and congenial, and the catamaran fast and smooth. Though whales had been spotted the day before, we didn't encounter any this trip, but did see three species of dolphin and had a great time. Will definitely do this again.

The trip was very nice, we saw a couple of dolphins, many sea lions and had a wonderful view of the immediate coast. I usually get seasick but found the boat to be reasonably stable even when we left the harbor. I also liked that with the online ticket receipt, the company provided useful tips for people not used to boats (what to bring, what not to bring etc.). The only less than positive aspect of the experience had to do with the exchange of the online receipt for tickets. The company's offices at the harbor are not clearly marked and we had no idea we had to exchange the print out of our online receipt for tickets. Fortunately, the people at the boat accepted our print out and did not make us go back to find the office.

My husband and I took our 6 year old daughter who had a blast. It was relaxing to be out on the water and the crew was quite personable! Look forward to our next time out.

I have been on the whale watching adventure twice. We enjoyed the experience. Certainly wished one could be guaranteed to see a whale on a whale watching trip. It would be nice to have spotters pre-locate whales and or be offered a follow-up trip for a chance to see the whales on another day if you are not lucky enough to see one. The first trip we were on, we say the gray whale and the talk was all about seeing the Blue Whale. We re-booked in June hoping to see what all the talk was about and did not see the great blue whale. Maybe next time. We will try again.

We had a blast, My sister got a little seasick at the end, but I have my sea legs and would love to go again.

Ive been whale watching for years with my young children, in Dana Point and Monterey California and the Catamaran along with her Crew was the VERY BEST we have ever experienced.. Although the Whales did not show on our trip, weve never experienced a better day on the water. The boat is very stable ,quiet and truely low emmission in regards to her engines. It makes for a pleasent day regardless of the show. Nice boat and staff, comfortable ride although it was an overcast day. We observed several groups of common dolphins - they came up to boat in groups and jumped etc. They were fun to watch. Towards the end of the ride we had a blue whale in the distance. The boat chased after the whale and we saw a small part of the whale several times. Too bad it didn't come fully to the surface as it looked huge! I would recommend the tour!
