Dana Wharf Sportfishing was started in 1958 by Don Hansen, running several sportfishing boats off the San Clemente Pier. He Moved the operation to Dana Harbor when it opened in 1971. Today Dana Wharf sits in the heart of a busy, flourishing harbor and continues to be owned and operated by the Hansen family.Dana Wharf has a fleet of Sportfishing boats specializing in local coastal fishing such as the 9 hour 3/4 day trips and the very popular schedule of 5 hour 1/2 day fishing trips.
Fishing trips run daily, year round. Catches include Calico Bass, Sand Bass, Barracuda, Bonito, Halibut, Rock Fish, Yellowtail and more.
Dana Wharf Whale Watching began in 1971 and was the first whale watching company in Orange County. We have become the premier year-round whale watching facility in Southern California. We interact with over 500 whales during the Grey whale migration in the winter and view hundeds of 90 feet Blue whales in the summer. In addition to whales, thousands of dolphins, sea lions, sea faring birds and even shark are found year-round in our waters, so we always have plenty of wildlife to see.
