Excellent Family Outing

My son quickly picked it up, even for a first timer, he caught a barracuda and bass. He is asking to go out again. Staff was patient and supportive - overall great day out at sea.

Twilight fishing was a treat!

Twilight fishing was a enjoyable experience for my family. Weather was perfect, sunset was great, and watching the dolphins and coastline was impressive. Fishing was not that hot but we had a great time anyway!

the captain was very nice and interacted with all of us customers, but the deckhand Justin was not so nice, was not happy, I noticed when customers needed help Justin would help as if he was mad unhook their fish turn and walk back to his buddies and talk about how stupid some customer are!! When Justin unhooked customers fish he dropped it back in the ocean and walk away with out explaining why to the customers and kids .SAD ! when you take your family out and spend 245.00 dollars you expect some friendly help and understanding. w my family and I like Dana wharf but will try to avoid y boat with the deck hand JUSTIN aboard. thank you the Paredes family.

too cowded, very bad fishing expereince
Sat, Jul 19  5:30 PM hossam Male 50-59 Local Group of Friends
the boat was full and no place to stand and fish, the current made all the robs and fish rods to interfere tons of wasted time, was bad fishing experience, close to the shore and no good preparation for that kind of crowed

great family adventure

Great value, outdoor, educational, challenge and friendly family competition. We had a good trip, bait was too small, deck hands were preoccupied with their own fishing, but it was. A twilight trip. 5 hrs total time on the boat. If you have some experience you can have a good time, but don't expect too much help if you do not. You will catch fish, and it is quite satisfying to have done it on your own.

Half day fishing with kids
Mon, Apr 21  10:00 AM rjjump Male 50-59 Local Family With Children
Expect some frustration if you have younger kids. The half day trips pretty much sit at local kelp beds and the boat is positioned where the stern swings near the kelp. 90% of the fish will be caught from the back. The areas are over fished so the fish are small and hide in the kelp. Frequent fisherman will stake the best spots. The captain will announce a time for people to rotate but that will be half way through the trip. Most people will mill around a bit but grab spots close to where they were. So unless you are aggressive and force your way in you will not likely get a prime spot. I would do that but with my younger kids you cant as they are not good enough fisherman to handle the tight combat fishing that happens in the back. If you want to see the local coastline from a boat, have a snack and enjoy a day at sea then it is fine. If you go thinking of catching decent size fish then do something else. I have went 5 times with my small kids and always the same story 100+ fish caught but only a few legal size....and I am talking barely legal. I have not seen anything over 18" or a couple pounds ever caught.
