My wife and I had a great time on the Dana Pride! The crew was exceptional. We were treated very nicely. We were impressed by the boat being very clean. The bathrooms were spacious, private, and clean. The crew scrubbed the boat immediately, after the expedition. Even the outside of the boat! This was a first time fishing trip for my wife, and she had a lot of fun! Again, the crew, catered to our every need, and we recommend the Dana Pride for all ages. We went in the morning, 1/2 day, and it was very pleasant.
Thank you to the crew on the boat, great bunch of guys!

My boyfriend and I had a great time fishing. This was his first experience deep sea fishing, and he loved it! We both were impressed with the crew. They were very organized and helpful to everyone. Very pleasant attitudes the entire time. We will definitely recommend this activity and return for another adventure soon! |

This was my first ocean fishing excursion (I mostly fish freshwater). The entire staff (in the shop and on the boat) were friendly, knowledgable, and extremely helpful. We caught plenty of fish and had a great day. I'm looking forward to a 2nd trip! |

We have fished similar boats out of Virginia Beach and Long Island NY on the east coast many times. The biggest difference from the Dana Point boats compared to the Long island/ Virginia Beach Boats is that they are alot narrower and lack outside seating for the passengers for an enjoyable ride out to and back from the fishing spots. Standing body to body for 5 straight hours can really put a damper on an otherwise perfect day.
One other thing that is different is that the Dana Point Boats allow people to bring their own gear. When everyone uses different weight sinkers there are quite a lot of lines getting tangled. New York and Virginia boats provide the same tackle for everyone with the 1/2 day package. It makes for more time fishing and less time untangling lines.
Virgina Beach and Long Island 1/2 day trips cost less than $30.00 per person. Our trip for the 2 of us with tackle rental and a one day non resident fishing license cost 3 times that amount.
We did catch 4 nice sand bass and most of the other fishermen caught nice fish also.
Very nice scenic trip. The boat mates were excellent. and right there when you needed them. The galley food was fresh and had a good taste.
We enjoyed it and will do it again. |

We all had a great time. Crew and staff very helpful. Only problem was that we had two seniors in our party and they could have used some seating. 5 hours was a long time for them to remain standing. |

I always like fishing with the crew from Dana Sports Fishing! They do an excellent job and are the best in the area.....I could easily go north and use a different charter company but the crew on the Dana Wharf boats are much more helpful.....so I make a longer drive to fish with them. The only drawback on this recent trip is a packed boat....don't like it when it is full and only have two crew to help. |

You can't be sure about the number of fish you will catch but you can be sure that's the only uncertainty. Here's what I expect when I'm taking personal time off with the family:
1. All of the planning, arranging and logistics are easy.
2. No "bait and switch" (no pun intended).
3. Staff are knowledgeable and pleasant.
4. Execution is timely and efficient.
When that happens - if you don't have a good time it's your own fault!
We had a great time. |

I don't recommend taking the Tuesday trip because the boat was very crowded and the deckhands were not able to help everyone. Not many fish were caught on the day we went. |
